Idlewild are worth checking out aswell, I haven't heard any of their albums though. Earlier this month they played 5 dates at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, one for each of their albums. Wouldve been nice to see that.

Gash
Belle and Sebastian, Glasvegas, Jesus and Mary Chain...Can anyone recommend me some good Idlewild stuff, I remember from awhile ago songs like American English which I wasn't greatly impressed with but I've heard many good things about them without ever really getting into them. Will be very appreciated. Thanks.
Bansidhe
Malcolm Middleton is worth a listen. Used to play guitar in a band called Arab Strap although I'm not really familiar with their stuff. Also there's another solo artist called Peter Reid who is slightly disturbing but quality nonetheless.http://www.myspace.com/peterreid

Graeme
If you're looking for rock bands, Runrig and Big Country are two to look into.Runrig are from the highlands and pretty much single handedly saved their language and culture from extinction in the seventies. They don't get commended enough for what they've done and the Scottish music press by and large give them hell, in spite of this they've had a few gold albums, and their finest, Once In A Lifetime is ranked in Allmusic.com's top 10 live albums of all time. It's that good. Dance Called America That's the first track off it.

I must have missed the wankfest over them that the Scottish press gives. They're just another band. Very meh.
EternalFlame
Mogwai is an awesome band, if you haven't heard of them. No lyrics, pure instrumental guitar-based pieces in "post-rock tradition."
