Is it time for Axl to try a rotating line-up?

I am for all kinds of flexibility. Flexibility in the music they play, the way it is played

and who is playing it. The only thing I do not want to miss in a GNR concert is Axl’s

voice and the stage charisma he has on most nights.

Moving a band of GNR’s size is a big operation. I would not make it dependable on one

or two or three members. The only one who is not replaceable is of course Axl. I would have

a pool of several people for each position to select from for each tour. In that way everyone

has more chances to book their solo work and take a break if they are not feeling well.

For example for bass the pool could be Tommy, Duff, a new X and one of the guitar players

or anyone from the tour group who can play bass (guitar techs?) in case of emergencies.

For the guitars I would select a pool of about 5-6 talented professionals.

The requirement for each position would be that they can play about anything composed for

their instrument. It could be also interesting to see some local talent play or sing with them

a song or two.

Axl is a unique talent worth seeing live. The more people get to hear him live in about medium

size venues the better.
