Guy sounds a bit out of his mind (and scenes from his previous films confirm that) but his enthusiasm is contagious. It's amazing how he got so many big names to accept to work with him on this project.I don't like the notion of adapting Dune to film. In large part the value of the book lies not in the plot but in internal monologue. So it's not about what hte characters do but the thought processes that lead to the decision to do that.That said, it didn't really hold up for me. Herbert is way too full of himself. When I read it first time around in my early teens it blew my mind but when I read it again recently I was like 'are you fucknig kidding me?' way too often. Still good though.
