Duffs style and bass guitar in 93'

Im watching Estranged music video.  In it Duff is wearing a kinda fancy outfit with a white scarf/tie thing and also is playing a sunburst Les Paul with gold appointments.  Its a far more glamorous look then he'd had so far in the 90's or (maybe) since, imo.  He's known for playing Fenders, not Gibson.

Im curious:

- Did Duff dress that way for the Skin n Bones Tour?  

- What do we know about him briefly switching to Gibson bass?

The change in bass occurred at the start of the Skin N' Bones Tour and lasted till the last show.  He went on to play a Gibson guitar in his solo band at the end of '93.

The change in weight had been building up for years and ended when his pancreas burst in '94.

Oh, I wonder if he got a Gibson deal as he planned dos solo outing?  I was wondering if the more showy wardrobe might also be in lead up to solo album and tour - to being the front man.

Because it just seems like the essence of 92 tour and antithesis of skin and bones.  The punk guy goes glam as they record a punk cover album (what they called SI, not what it turned out as)?
