Jeppe86a
I just noticed something, i have had a couple of whiskey this evening in Sweden and is looking at old videos on youtube. Fell into the rabbit hole of Black Oak Arkansas.. Just listen to this, from 4:53 and a bit forward.. Isn’t the intro a bit of a Mr Brownstone thing? Or is it just me streching a bit far?😎 Anywas Jim Dandy one hell of a frontman! https://youtu.be/ZJKRlENPKXs
Jeppe86a
Yeah nevermind, didn’t realize Black Oak Arkansas did ’ Not fade away’ by Buddy Holly, and that Slash was inspired by Bo Diddley beat to the intro, but i know now after digging deeper. Sorry about the obvious! Edited February 26, 2021 by Jeppe86a
lame ass security
I played some shows with a girl who had opened for Black Oak Arkansas, she kept saying how cool and nice they were. Anyway, yeah, that's a classic beat.
Jabberwocky
WOW!! I'm not the only one here who know who Black Oak is. They were one hell of a band, especially live. Do yourself a favor and listen to Live Mutha. Like Fanny, they were one of those bands who should had their studio albums recorded live without all of the extra bells and whistles and other bullshit.
