invisible_rose Posted June 27, 2005 Share Posted June 27, 2005 I went to see them on Friday night at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Friday night and I have to say it was one of the greatest gigs I've ever been to. Stunning playing by the RATM guys and Cornell's vocals were simply out of this world. He actually managed to stamp his own style on Rage classics; Sleep Now in the Fire and even Killing in the Name. You could see Morello was loving playing the old stuff. The way Cornell made way for Rage songs in the set list and they way the Rage guys embraced the Sound Garden stuff was certainly something VR should be looking up to. I got a load of photos that I will post shortly. Also, got a photo of some girl with a huge Guns logo tattoo'd on her back. Stunning night all round. I thought like VR they have the curse of the super group ie the old stuff gets the best reaction of the night. Black hole sun was amazing, the sound was as clear as a bell during it and it was great when the whole audience joined in.
