stratomaster
You could just get a greatest hits kinda thing to start with if that's what you were thinking of?I'd recommend this one voodoo child which has got all the well known songs and some less well known ones.. and the second disk is live performances which are awsome. He plays Johnny b goode!
highvoltage
I got into Hendrix through "Experience Hendrix: The Best Of", and it's got a pretty good mix. Nothing too overly-adventurous either, so it's easy to listen to for a first timer.
