Where is Chinese Democracy being recorded?

Just wondering with all the talk of how this album cost $13 Million Dollars to make, does anyone know if Axl has his own recording studio?

It seems to me that if he does, assuming some of the recording was done at his home, the album wouldn't have cost that much to make?

Plus, I read that U2 gets an advance of $15 Million everytime they make a new album. Isn't possible, that this $13 Million dollar amount is what Axl commanded for the making of "Chinese Democracy"?

Your thoughts...

Someone's planning a burglary.

i'm actually surprised nobody attempted to do that yet

but i think the 13 million was spent on producers mostly

and i'm sure they used other studios for a short while but mostly axls house

Rumbo Studios: 1998 - 2002

Village Recorder, Studio D: 2002- Mid 2004

Woodland Ranch Recorders, Woodland Hills, CA: Mid 2004 - Present

Axl also has a very expensive modern home studio.

Yes some of it i would think.

But most of it will be for the rent of the studio's and the producers etc. Warner Village Studio D is a huge state of the art studio thats used for the real top artist's - Axl had it for around 2 years !

I guess Axl has a recording studio but the costs of the album comes down to many opther factors such as the following one example, the hiring of specialised equipment which on some accounts was hired for periods of 6 months and over and was only used for like 2 or 3 hours (thats if you believe the hype).

Are you sure he is still doing it there?

I am five minutes from that Studio and so far it was used recently for other Recordings (Madrid Theathre).

But I guess if you say so than.

That was News to me to even read that.

What producers? I have read numerous times that Axl is producing it himself and that being a notorious perfectionist, this is part of the reason why CD is taking soooo long.

I thought they started with a producer but fired him earlier and Axl took over. When people put money up front for production don't they normally have some kind of time limit when It should be finished. I don't think I would sink my money into something taking this long as a fan I'm willing to wait as a backer I wouldn't.
