ScottRose
I actually designed a best of cd a month ago. It's a triple cd, one with Bon, one with Brian, and the last one being the Back In Black cd, seeing as it it currently the fifth greatest selling records ever. You will find that there is at least one song from each album, as was my intention. I'm pretty happy about how it turned out, although it's a very extensive best of. Here's the tracklist:Bon Years1. It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock N’ Roll)2. The Jack3. T.N.T.4. High Voltage5. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap6. Problem Child7. Let There Be Rock8. Bad Boy Boogie9. Whole Lotta Rosie10. Rock N’ Roll Damnation11. Down Payment Blues12. Riff Raff13. Sin City14. Highway To Hell15. Girls Got Rhythm16. Touch Too Much17. JailbreakBrian Years1. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)2. Flick Of The Switch3. Brain Shake4. Shake Your Foundations5. Who Made Who6. Heatseeker7. Meanstreak8. Thunderstruck9. Fire Your Guns10. Moneytalks11. Hard As A Rock12. Stiff Upper Lip13. MeltdownBack In Black1. Hells Bells2. Shoot To Thrill3. What Do You Do For Money Honey4. Givin’ The Dog A Bone5. Let Me Put My Love Into You6. Back In Black7. You Shook Me All Night Long8. Have A Drink On Me9. Shake A Leg10. Rock And Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution

johnezz
People still don't get that the entire concept of a "greatest hits" is that it includes the songs that had the most succes in the charts (hence the name greatest hits) and is therefor in NO way subjective to what songs you like or don't like? That would then be a "Best of"
artfromtex
People still don't get that the entire concept of a "greatest hits" is that it includes the songs that had the most succes in the charts (hence the name greatest hits) and is therefor in NO way subjective to what songs you like or don't like?yeah, i think we understand the concept, we just want to spew forth our opinions on what the best songs are. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what a band's hits are. i think maybe the person who started the thread could have worded differently, but i think we understand each other. it's like in Texas, all soda is called Coke. "you wanna Coke?" "yeah, get me a Diet Pepsi." i think when asked "what is your greatest hits, that basically is understood to mean, you're favorites. so while it may be technically incorrect, the fact that we all get the jist makes it ok. a kind of duality in meaning.
