I'm just glad the shredder isn't batio. consider that a blessing. I still don't know why Axl wants a virtuoso, I realize buckethead recorded stuff that only a shredding god could duplicate, but....a guitarist like Dave Navarro would be such a great fit for GnR....

SO WHAT ABOUT FINCK YE BASTARDS!?

it doesn't sound like finck's playing. i told people on HTGTH already friday night that this could be fortus. i'm incredibly excited to find out everything on friday, this is seriously going to be one of the, if not the, most exciting nights in gnr history.

fascintating,a twenty second loud piece of nothin is a topic of a thread goin 4+pages!!

happens only here :P

and on HTGTH. :shades:

Do you think Axl would keep the 3rd guitarist a secret if he was relatively unknown? Like, wouldn't it make more sense to hide the name of a well known guitarist. Anyone agree? ;)

Monty

i agree. then again with GNR you never can tell, we'll know soon enough

It's funny how people can read so much into a guitar track played over a cellphone, transmitted over a radio and then encoded onto a PC with a lossy format.

Does anyone know the frequency range for a typical cellphone? Thought not. :)

Cingular (AT&T) = Both but primarily 1900MHz

800MHz (TDMA system - NOT GPRS or GSM) - Old AT&T System now dwindling

1900MHz (aka; GPRS, GSM, Next Generation phones) - Newer system with SIM Cards

Sprint = 1900MHz

T-Mobile = 1900MHz

Verizon = 800MHz (CDMA)

Nextel = 806-869MHz (SMR frequencies - Does not use cellular frequencies)

If your phone is in analog mode (not digital) it is using 800MHz

However, if your phone is using digital, it DOES NOT mean that you are using 1900MHz.

PCS, GSM, GPRS, Sim Cards, Sim Chips, Next Generation - These are all indications of a system running at 1900MHz.

TDMA and CDMA usually indicates an 800MHz system.

i win.

Could well be. If it is, Fortus has really transformed himself :)

Yep, it could be him and I don´t doubt it.

But I don´t think he transformed himself. He had these sqills all the time...

Listen to the end of The Blues and U know what I mean.. ;)

Izzy is on his own program, he does what he wants when he wants. He comes and goes as he pleases.

OFF-TOPIC

Dude, no offence, but.... That sounds exactly like Axl...

Whats the difference between a mod and a supermod?

Have you wings or x-ray vision or something? :P

On topic: Didn't Axl play that clip so that we could hear the new guy?

.......keep trying to tell those jokes of yours and you'll find out :xmasssanta:

I think you're right(or at least I got the same impression), it was Axl saying "listen to my new guitarist" and all I heard was a loud nothing...

How come some of you heard it?

UK SUBS.

Ah but we don't have nearly 20 years experience of going to concerts and having our eardrums blown to pieces, thus we could probably make out a bit more.

P.S You sure it was the audio clip wailing, and not your hearing aid? :drevil:

 true, true...

UK SUBS.

Tinnitus IS a bitch..........

whats with the weird sig message UK? Is it subliminally worded, shall we analyze it endlessly and

get it checked numerically? The Answer must be in there..........

I can't really talk about it at the moment as my legal team are looking into a few things. Needless to say P4A is the axes of all evil and I will release a formal statement "shortly" - I must warn you though, I'm on 'Slash-time' so don't expect an answer anytime soon... ;)

.............................................................

5 days and we'll find out the answer to this thread(and others no doubt).

it sounded like John 5.

but I just heard Zombie booked some summer dates so maybe it is not him... but it sure sounded like him.

It would be cool if John 5 was the new guitarist, but I doubt it. His webpage says that he had a show with Rob Zombie in Texas on May 5th.

If it was Doug Aldrich I'd shit myself from joy...

I don't care who it is as long as it isn't Michael Angel Batio. I fucking hate him.

He's too old anyways. But he IS amazing on the guitar. Too bad he looks like crap...

Why is that?

The guys who play great usually look like crap, and the guys who look great, usually play like crap too... There are exceptions of course...

The problem with Batio is that while he's a mint guitarist, he's ironically the worst guitarist in the world, there's absoloutely no point to what he does, at least players like Buckethead/EVH/Satriani/Malmsteem keep a lot of the shredding in moderation (to a point), Batio is just an athlete.
