Slash was gone for a good year when matt and duff left. and they never got together and said lets make a band. they went their ways and relized hey lets make a band. it didnt take long for them to start from the ground up, they needed to work with a new guitarist and singer not to mention slash matt n duff had to learn some STP tunes along with scott n dave needing to learn some gnr. and they did this all in a year? axl has been making this masterpeice for 10 years. look at music in the last 10 years. sure it may have been a hit back in the 90s but come on, what bands can you name that are airing on MTV or FUSE or wutever that have true talent? none. GnR (old n new) have talent but talent dont matter. Axl should have released when talent mattered. wow i rambled on.and i think the main reason the solo projects didnt go as well is because they werent hyped up they were just there. they werent like advertised tht well. also they seem more about the music. they want to play, they dont care as much. they want to live for the music.o and axls three guitar shit isnt new its been done. didnt skynard use 3 guitars? he wont admit to it but he needs them for slashs parts cuase slash was indeed good. Of course it didn't take 10 years to make Contraband. You just have to listen to the record for proof of that.VR and Contraband is the closest thing that the old GnR (Slash, Duff, and Matt) have put out in the last 10+ years that actually has any value and significance. All of the stuff Slash, Duff, and Matt put out in between UYI and Contraband just wasn't worth much. Sure, for hardcore GnR and Slash fans, it might have been the shit but for the rest of society, it was shit.The point of the post is to draw attention to how distinctly different Axl's approach is from old GnR, but yet, when CD is release with the premise of 3 albums, Axl will have put out more significant music than all the works the old GnR could ever produce in their life time.This post is fuckin retarded.
