nman406
BreakdownBreakdown was the first song that came to mind when I read the thread title. As far as being underrated in the mainstream, I would say Estranged.
gd99
I think that Breakdown is underrated because it wasn't released as a single. Most gunner fans do like this song.as far as songs that where released (or at least on a soundtrack), Sympathy for the Devil. Simply amazing. Micks
think about you@ Helen GNR: how the fuck can you consider Sweet Child O' Mine underrated? It got a lot more fame than it ever deserved. Edited October 4, 2006 by Micks
graysox
think about you@ Helen GNR: how the fuck can you consider Sweet Child O' Mine underrated? It got a lot more fame than it ever deserved.I agree to a certain extent that SCOM was, if anything, overrated in my opinion. Many people consider this to be the best GNR song, yet I find it to not even make the top 5. Also, Welcome to the Jungle is probably the most overrated GNR song out there. It really isn't a good song. All my opinions though. Paradise City is somewhat overrated, but not as much. The Big 3 off of appetite get way too much recognition and the other 9 songs(especially Nighttrain, Rcket Queen, Think About You, and Mr. Brownstone) should get more recognition in the mainstream world. But why not "Yesterdays"? I see so many people saying "Breakdown" which is a very very good song, but I would definitely consider Yesterdays to be one of the five or six best GNR songs. The best GNR songs:1. Nov. Rain2. Estranged3. Patience4. Yesterdays5. Civil War6. SCOM7. BreakdownNow obviously this is only my opinion, and since Yesterdays was put on the Greatest Hits album it gets a little more recognition; but as far as combining the GNR fans and the mainstream success, Yesterdays is very much more underappreciated and underrated than Breakdown....ONLY because Yesterdays is RARELY mentioned as a good song on these boards...and Breakdown is thought of as a great song and proclaimed to be by many many members. Mainstream-wise, Yesterdays only edges Breakdown in success by a little.I hope that GNR adds Yesterdays to their setlist on the upcoming tour. Take out Live and Let Die, My Michelle, Out Ta Get Me, and add new songs plus Yesterdays.(I also wouldn't mind seeing Nov. Rain taken out since it is demolished by Axl's old vocals but that's a farfetched idea) Edited October 4, 2006 by graysox

graysox
Bad Apples---some of the most brilliant lyrics ever written by Axlanother good song.....there are so many very underappreciated songs off of both UYI and AFD...but especially UYI.and yes gunsnrosesrfreak...One in a Million is a masterpiece...I completely forgot about that song in listing my top 8 GNR songs....definitely top 5....but in the GNR camp among GNR fans, One in a Million gets the recognition it deserves...mainstream-wise...it doesn't come close. ags_rule
'The Garden' - Some of Slash's best guitar work and one of his best guitar solos. It's brilliant the way it's all laid back and with in the space of about five seconds the pace just changes into that awesome solo.

Guest Matt13
Breakdown all the way. Not sure why this was never a single (the end could have a better ending for the radio though). This would have been a GREAT video too. However, if we're counting covers... considering KOHD's success... I'd have to say Sympathy for the Devil would be my close second. That song just kicks so much ass... wish it was as popular as GNR's version of KOHD.

EccoTides
Yesterdays, for me.While most GNR fans seem to agree that it's a good song, Yesterdays has always struck me as one of the very best songs the original band ever came up with. Top 5 material for sure.
