Binge_And_Slash
I think work must have started in around 97.According to reports, the old line-up (with Paul Tobias on rhyhthm) had an album finished, but when Slash left the group etc, it obviously didn't happen, so Axl recruits Finck, and then Duff leaves, etc etc.So the earliest it could have possibly started work would be 97/98. fantomas
The song titles This I Love, TWAT and Suckerpunch appeared in a 1992 Raw magazine article when the focus was the new ablum and an upcoming punk covers EP which turned into TSI. If I have it I'll scan it in.
Blunoze
I think we can safely conclude that nobody actually knows, but will swear they are right. Only Axl knows exactly when he started creating a CD called Chinese Democracy. Anybody who tells you otherwise is full of shit.
