As a black man I find this very sad.

Malcolm fought for separation of the races for most of his political 'career', even by the end of it when his mind was somewhat turned from the complete separation of the races he still kind of wanted a version of it insofar as for black people to strengthen and consolidate their own communities for the foreseeable future.

Exactly why Muhammad Ali spoke at a KKK convention. Ironically, paradoxically, the Nation of Islam and KKK found themselves on the exact same side: they both wanted segregation. It was not such a far-fetched idea - well it is but not perhaps as far-fetched and controversial as many believe. The British established Sierra Leone in the 18th century to repatriate Black Loyalists who allied themselves with the British Army during the American Revolution. Afterwards America similarly established Liberia for freed slaves and freed blacks.
