Money is currently in the nostalgia aspect of the band. Hence AFD/Illusions box sets.

It’s called being a fan of this band 😂

They were planning to release “Hard Skool” probably in the spring of 2020 based on it being soundchecked in Mexico. Covid delayed that. So they should have pivoted and prepared a full-length album for release by the time the world opened. They didn’t. More wasted time.

covid has zero effect on releasing music as proven by MANY artists.  Some releasing album 2 already.  Thats just a gnr excuse

Just imagine how apeshit the crowd in Buenos Aires would go if Axl goes something like "The next one is a new song and part of a new album we're releasing this fall" all casually.

Would probably be the best moment to announce it, which means it's not going to happen that way.

yea, then "plans would change" and the album would be delayed    :-)

I had thought - I was sure - that if the General was released there would be people saying that they preferred the cell phone recording version despite the fact that we can barely hear anything there. But I wouldn't have imagined that someone would say that even before the song was released

for sure.  "over produced" "bloated" "not mixed correctly"

Common sense (yes, it applies to GN'R sometimes). The UYI box set has just been announce and doesn't include any demos.

This idea that they have saved some to release them along with some reworked material from the CD era is too far fetched. Plus, Crash Diet is not a GN'R song.

whos song is  it?  Axl wrote it

The general has always been a bit of a holy grail since it was first mentioned, the title alone is just great. The string intro for the 2006 till 2011 shows was superb so hopes have always been high.

and thats a problem.  Just like CD never lived up to the hype, this song will never be what the fans imagine in their heads.  It may be a great song, but people will complain

  6. I knew about them and likes WTTJ.  I was still living at home and mtv premiered (yes , i am old) the vid for SCOM.  I thought it was one of the best songs i had ever heard.  The second it ended, i ran upstairs, borrowed my mom's car, drove to the mall and bought the CD.  Was fortunate enough to see them when they were on top.  Saw them promoting the AFD album then again in 1992 in 3 rivers stadium.

I just watched the show at Rock in Rio, and I can't complain, the sound mixing is perfect, the band sounds amazing. We must respect Axl Rose, in his 60 years of age he is the biggest legend of rock, Guns N' Roses put to fuck the city of Rio tonight, I must accept from today if the band does not release anything else I will be happy, we must contemplate these guys who are still alive and bring us rock n roll. Thank you Axl, Slash, Duff and the whole band, you've changed my life forever since I first heard it.

    Love you GNR

Ozzy is in worse shape.  Sang at halftime at nfl opener last night.  Sounded great and is releasing album 2 soon.  Stop with the excuses

Axl is rich, a band that takes 20 years to release a full album this band can't be taken seriously. Fans work hard to go to a show, I love the classics, but I'm more interested in hearing something genuine and new. This EP is a real scam. There was no publicity or marketing to sell or in any way lead to the great mass. Despite being a band that doesn't give interviews or release anything new, they continue to fill stadiums, just like the Rolling Stones, in the end what's worth is the money in the pockets of Axl, Slash and Duff, and disappointed fans. Crap

"just like the rolling stones"? This band is nothing like the stones.  The stones have released multiple albums (and like always, I dont care about opinions of the music).  The only time these 2 bands should be mentioned together is late 80's when people and music critics were billing them as "the next rolling stones".

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. The point that was made is that a lot of bands have done a reunion tour without new music, so the claim that GnR is so abnormal in regards to this doesn't quite add up.

I think the point is they do A re-union tour. GnR has been touring for years with out nothing. The NITL was the re-union sort of tour.  After that?  Most are just one and dones

And My World and Shotgun Blues, and Bad Obsession. Personally, Absurd and hard Skool in terms of quality fits well into songs off UYI, with a mediocre song (Absurd) that is still better than the worst off UYI and a good song (Hard Skool) that could easily have replaced a good handful of the not-so-good songs on UYIs.

bad obsession and absurd the same?  hahaahaha

I listened to Absurd again today...what a weird song...its impossible for me tu understand why would Axl sing like that.

He has one of the best and most recognizable voices ever heard by anyone....and he decides to release that song with that vocals...

    Can get into the song...

And what about the out of rythm verses hahaahah its just beyond mi brain capacity to understand it

I agree, the song has always been garbage.
