They have done a number on him. That is basically the end of any vestige of Jackson's reputation. He is in Glitter/Saville territory now.

    PS

There are still some issues though. Culkin? He was basically the kid who followed Wade Robson and preceded Jordan Chandler. He is staunch in his defence. In fact it is remarkable how many kids passed through Neverland and only 4 I suppose have revealed this, although that is the premise of how Jackson operated. He seems to have selected a ''special'' kid, and changed this kid every 12 months. All the other kids running around in some Spielbergian paradise were just ''extras'' (pardon the flawed description).

Pertaining to Jackson's actions extending to them, Jackson was this perfect Peter Pan ''Heal the World'' do-gooder.

Corey Feldman says the same thing. But nether of them are the type the accusers are (that Chandler, Arvazio, Robson and Safechuck were all similar looking as kids is one of biggest red flags for me) Maybe  MJ was the John Derek of pedos?

the united states was founded more than 200 years ago and since that time, not a single parliament has made sleeping with children a criminal offence.

before you all burn me on the stable, bear in mind that while many people find such behaviour offensive and disturbing, no elected parliament, no elected representative body of our society, ever, has found the political will to incriminate such behaviour. so who the hell are you, witch hunting and judging people? Are all those people that judge, having clean records?

don't judge, lest you be judged yourself!

now, criminal law has penalized a lot of behaviour. Some rightly so, in other cases not so much. But if you ask me, you're a good citizen if you follow the law. But as it stands, I've yet to meet the first person who never broke the law. So whoever you are, you've got still room for improvement.

And now we're going to spit out people when they show behaviour that "does not sit well" with certain people?

get the fuck out of here, and come back to me when you're entitled! which is, never.

the parliament makes the rules. not you, not me. not even fucking president trump.

In a way, I'm sort of content with the fact there is a clear body of rules that concretes which behaviour is allowed and which not. As a result, a lot of tedious discussion is avoided between individuals in society. One person thinks behaviour A is unacceptable, while the other person thinks it is. To solve the problem, refer to the law. As for the rest, people should fucking mind their own business.

It's not for a accidental group of people to suddenly call the shots and witch hunt people for behaviour that is not, and has not ever been a crime.

Nope, it’s not a crime. Of course, it’s also not something anyone who wasn’t a pedo would do in a million years. ‘It’ being sharing a bed with a child (let alone multiple children) they had no familial relationship with, specifically for the sake of it.

Its pretty obvious why he quit the band, he joined this band that were like the hot fuckin' alternative underground whatever and they blew up when he joined and it weren't really what he wanted...or weren't what he thought he wanted.  I think what he really wanted was to be in a position where he was free to make his own music.

Little did you know you would've probably been in with a shot if you'd've ever met him

Oh for sure, when I was in junior high 🤣🤣🤣

I always took Keidis to be something of an Iggy Pop rip off.  Which isn't an insult, if you're gonna rip someone off it might as well be the king.  Keidises hair looked cool even when he had the mohawk and the Scar Tissue video hair.

I agree totally but I, er, came of age during his era and he was considerably prettier.

To me it just boils down to the same thing it's alwwys been: people who are looking for a reason to think Michael is guilty will find it. People who are looking for a reason to think he's not will find it.

I probably should have went with my first plan and just not posted in this thread lol

With all due respect...bullshit. I’m not out to get him OR protect him. I’m not going to state unequivocally that he’s a pedobear because I don’t know that to be true. I’m not going to state he’s not because I don’t know that either. My own personal instincts sway to the ‘there’s smoke and fire here’ but that’s not because I’m ‘looking for a reason to think he’s gulity’. Just as I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you’re not just blindly defending him. Okay? Cool.

I agree with Leonard. Never, ever, wait. Always dob them in ASAP. Her mother sounds like a vicious cunt. It's heartbreaking a mother of all people could do that. What's it all about? This fucking planet.

Oh I agree completely. If it’s him, there’s no reason to wait. If it’s someone else, Douglas has been dogged by this rumor for over half a century and she could’ve cleared his name. It makes no sense on either front.

Her mother was by my most accounts a legitimate monster - https://www.google.com/amp/s/variety.com/2001/more/reviews/natasha-the-biography-of-natalie-wood-1200469640/amp/

edit - there’s no reason for Natalie’s sister to sit on this. Natalie had plenty of reasons to keep quiet as Len says and her mother most likely set her  up with whoever ended up attacking her.

Why wait until his death?  If it is him surely that means he's gotten away with it.  Mind you at 102 he's sort of gotten away with it anyway.

He could deny it and sue her? I don’t know. It’s not like Lana’s word would be enough to charge him with anything. Him being 102 has presumably seriously narrowed the field of other possible suspects though.

Raping a young Natalie Wood.  Repeatedly.  I don't know the full details, Angelica could probably tell you better, little Heat Magazine queen that she is , but uh, I think it was something like she did that shit under the auspices of her mother in exchange for work in the industry.

And her mom let the studio cover it up, lest the public view her as ‘damaged goods’.

@Angelica @Len Cnut What's Kirk Douglas accused of doing?

Just googled him. 101years old and looking grim af. If I ever look like that kill me.

One of the longest running rumors in Hollywood is that he was the perpetrator of the rape that Natalie Wood suffered when she was 16 (it was so brutal she had to be hospitalized for significant blood loss). It dates back to the 50’s and has been alluded to in various biographies but he’s never been formally accused publicly. Wood’s sister Lana has stated that she’ll confirm the identity of Natalie’s attacker upon his death....so we’ll see I guess.

There have also been rumors he assaulted Jean Seberg but I’m less familiar with the sources of those.

They better get a move on, they’re getting ripe.  I’m quite a Kirk Douglas fan and the murmurs around him sort of get louder and louder sometimes then cool off again.  It’ll be a shame the day they drag (or wheel) ol’ Kirky away to the tumbrils, I have an incredible fondness for his film, not that thats any reason that sex offenders should be let off.

Kirk presented best picture at the first post #metoo Golden Globe ceremony. It was frankly surreal.

He was a great actor and movie star but the rumors are too ugly , there’s no way they don’t overwhelm the coverage of his death when it finally happens. (Especially if the Natalie Wood one is true and her sister Lana makes good on her word to confirm it upon his death).

This is the woman who as assaulted in the video: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleo_Rocos

She was not a no-name actress meant to play a role here.  Nor was she "in" on the joke.  If you can watch that video and think she enjoyed it or was apart of the shtick, good lord, I don't know what to tell you.

Why should we let any decade be?  That's nonsense.  Should we excuse other bad behaviour because they were simply a sign of the times?

It’s also worth noting Kiedis, Smith and Balzary had all been convicted of sexual battery a few  months before this was filmed.

Labelling anyone a SJW because they find *something* offensive is as dumb and reductive as any knee jerk reaction you’ll get from the biggest pearl clutching purity patrolman on twitter. There is no context in which that video isn’t fucked.

  12. I’ve never been a Polanski defender and would be delighted if he were dragged back to serve time in the US, but  as long as he’s capable of delivering a Pianist or Ghost Writer every decade or so, I’ll continue to patronize his films.

When the Woody Allen crapola blew back up in 2013, I lived in abject terror for a while that a credible allegation might emerge and did consider how it would affect my relationship with his work if it did.

If you don’t want to financially support someone morally suspect, that’s admirable, but cancel culture is inane.

I just meant that like...this shit is out there, readily available...and its not like its some obscure band so it maybe got overlooked, if anyone cared to pile in and make a point of it the last year or so has been a bang on good time to do it.  But no one has really.  Cuz no one cares cuz its a cool band.

Aside from new allegations surfacing, I can’t see much rhyme or reason to who the pitchforks do or don’t come for. Axl’s been spared so far. Kiedis has/had a very well known predilection for teenage girls, and not in the murkier 70’s celebrity climate. Shit, I’m still waiting for them to come for Nicholson and Beatty 🤣

What do you mean Louis CK is attempting to rebrand himself as an alt-right comic? I don't see that at all. Like zero basis for that claim.

Honestly, what did Louis CK actually do? His behaviour was inappropriate and perverted, sure, even he admits that. But the guy's already been punished. He's lost millions. His life has been destroyed/tarnished severely and shouldn't be allowed to move on...because, why? He jerked off during a phone conversation with a women who didn't hang up? He asked permission to jerk off in front of two of his colleagues in a hotel room and they gave consent and watched?

...and then he used his influence to derail their careers and repeatedly defamed them as liars.

  15. 3 hours ago, Len Cnut said:

The question with these things is where do you draw the line?  I mean there's people out there who stop listening to a band cuz they refused em an autograph.  And then on the far end of the spectrum its like, rape, murder, sexual assault.  But even some murder is OK.  Leadbelly was a murderer but its OK, it adds to his mystique.  But if you're Phil Spector its evil.  And it don't stop at artists too, people hero worship someone like say Mike Tyson...and he used to rob grannies when he was 13.  He'd rob anything that walked.  If Anthony Keidis is sexually aggressive with a woman its kinda just looked at like 'wow, look how super sexed Anthony is!'  For example watch this from 2:25:

Now imagine a video with Harvey Weinstein or Rolf Harris doing that

I don’t know that I’d find that video any more disgusting regardless of who was blatantly assaulting that woman. Jesus.

Luke and Shannen declined to appear in the reboot according to several news reports I read.

Which, all due respect to everyone else, rendered it instantly pointless 🤣

You can personally in terms of your reaction to it but in terms of the overall reaction?  I don't see how.  Then again, perhaps I'm talking shit because, I dunno, The Godfather II came with a lot of hype too, are we to presume therefore that since it came with a degree of hype that all the acclaim that followed is invalidated?  That's a little silly.

Well I’m entirely confident in my opinions and somewhat of a crank so I don’t give a shit about ‘overall reaction’ 🤣🤣🤣 I get what you mean.

I find the whole thing a bit of a cocksuck.  I mean I've not seen the movie but it seems like the whole thing kind of rode the hype of 'OMG, FIRST BLACK SUPERHERO!'.  So we'll never really know if its a merit thing or a 'lets vote for Colin Powell' thing.  Besides, there's been black superheroes before, Richard Roundtree, Max Julien, Ron O Neal.

Blade (the first two anyway), motherfuckers! 🤣

You can assess it’s actual merit pretty handily by watching it. It’s okay if you enjoy the genre (I’m not big on it) suffers from the same pacing issues they all do and eventually devolves into the same tedious CGI orgy they all do.
