dislike. I don't like the entire wu-tang attitude. The style. The subjects of the songs. It hasn't got anything sepcial for me. Nothing that sepperates it from the immense load of junk rap out there. Actualy, very few artists do sepperate themselves from that.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
the style is flat out hectic, RZAs a fucking producer and he can flow better than most rappers around nowadays, the production is pretty special, it's minimalist (early on anywayz). the subject matters if u listen to some of the songs r really good, listen to the first song on the Wu Tang Forever album...

electronic music is cool yeah, check out Can...
and hey, can't nobody fuck wit' 2Pacalypse...find me anyone in music right now as intelligent as him...in fact he had book brains and street brains, so he's prolly a few steps ahead of most.

ur really over-crediting nirvana lol

well, see, no i haven't at all and i don't think u could prove otherwise either...whereas i think i could go to enormous lengths in justifying my statement. would u like me to?

I would love to see you try.

The Sex Pistols may have only been together for two years in the late '70s, but they changed the face of popular music. Through their raw, nihilistic singles and violent performances, the band revolutionized the idea of what rock & roll could be. In England, the group was considered dangerous to the very fabric of society and was banned across the country; in America, they didn't have the same impact, but countless bands in both countries were inspired by the sheer sonic force of their music, while countless others were inspired by their independent, do-it-yourself ethics. Even if they didn't release any singles by themselves, there was an implicit independence in the way they played their music and handled their career. The band gave birth to the massive independent music underground in England and America that would soon include bands that didn't have a direct musical connection to the Sex Pistols' initial three-minute blasts of rage, but couldn't have existed without those singles.
says it all really...which of those other bands did that in that short space of time with that limited a degree of output?

well there ya go, i get called dumb for havin' an opinion and reasons to back it up with, as opposed to just statements with nothing to substanciate them...it's ok, if u can't justify ur beliefs, cool by me, u might wanna look into it a little in ur personal time though...the idea isn't to convince...is just a fact for fact thing, i mean, people drag this typa shit out but it's generally clear whoose made their point proper, ramblers'll ramble regardless. let em.

johnezz
on the pink floyd thing, they started off cool, the 60s...its was cool, they weren't incredibly groundbreaking, they tinkered with some technology but never seemed to fuck with the basic format...and to be honest, 20 minute songs were not an anomoly, look at zappa, captain beefheart, the doors, ELP, tons of em did that late 60s onwards, they got REALLY boring too by the 70s, just a dinosaur rock act capable of filling stadiums, void in terms of any great relevance, and i always found the song writing to be rather trite...but, ur opinion is urs and i respect it.
-
Pink Floyd,
Because, no one, and i mean no one, beats them in the field of creativity and originality. They were never in it for money or their fans, they did it for the love. They were some of the most talented songwriters ever. The Floyd are just amazing.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
oh oh OH!!! dude, u did NOT say that lol ur a pink floyd fan???
ALL IN ALL UR JUST ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL lol
and oh oh oh, my favorite...
momma will i be the president? momma should i trust the government??
come on Johnezz, ur one of few people i have faith in on this forum, u can't possibly like em (nah, im just yankin' ur plank mr. pirate, u can like who ya like) but i just never got it...i never got how they're orignal and creative...i mean, ok, orignal? dub reggae, thats orignal, public image limited, thats orignal, butthole surfers, thats orignal, kate bush, she's orignal, charlie parker...but Pink Floyd? i actually have an i hate pink floyd t shirt...but nah, all my little bullshit aside, can u explain to me please, whats orignal about em cuz i really don't see it and im not tryna be a wiseguy here, this is a serious question...

guns n roses can be included, but like...whatever band u name...give reasons
mine is the sex pistols because they were real, honest, uncompromising, revolutionary in terms of their sound, their attitude, socially relevant, politically relevant, fun and fucking intense musically...and they NEVER backed down from anything ever, they never played pussy, they never didn't stand up for themselves and they were who they were, no image, no acting, just straight pistols, no "statements" issued, they just talked straight, no "no comments" handed out, they ALWAYS had an opinion...they were just greater than any band ever before or since...there will never ever be a band that even comes close to being as...100% genuine as the pistols were...
who are yours and why?

theres not actually, look in a dictionary..at least not in being consistent to an ideology...ignorance is either good or bad...half-steppin' suggests inconsistency and ostensibly, falsehood
-
i thought ignorance was a fault?

RETARDS
The only people who vote for Metallica are smelly cavemen who wear beer-stained tank-tops and say 'dude' in every sentence.
The guys in Metallica are complete assholes with the combined I.Q. of 12. They don't have the wit, intelligence, charisma or showmanship of The Beatles - let alone the pure songwriting ability which has made Beatles songs timeless.
The Beatles didn't write a bad song (well Ringo may have) but Metallica have 5 bad songs per record.
I'm offended by this poll.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
im offended by ur snobbery, i hate metallica too but i'd never say some shit like that
