Bellingham has been a joy to watch.

    Very proud of my team.

Yup. They were by far the better team (imo) and after watching England bow out for 35+ years, this one I'm content with. They played great football and in the right mannar.

Just unlucky, sometimes the better team loses.

And obviously sometimes great teams win when not being the best on the day.

Apparently some of the future shows like Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew are gonna introduce a place called “the new beyond” (possibly a new galaxy) where Jedi and Sith don’t exist and the force is used more like magic.

Weird. As the force is essentially magic unless you're a avid viewer of SW.

No Jedi and Sith makes sense, but surely the dark side still corrupts - which essentially means the same stories but without the 'religions' vibe.

I can't imagine liking anything they release either.. Axl sounds terrible.. I thought CD was awful, Slash's last two albums were bad, Duff's last album was even worse. Then there is Absurd and Hardschool.. If the band wasn't embarrassed about releasing those turds, they obviously don't care much about releasing quality music.

I like to think Axl can still deliver vocally in the studio.

But I'm of the same mindset that the songs themselves will be average at best.

It is probably just me who are a bit short but I can not figure out where I can get a digital copy of the live concerts they have released on video. Could someone help me out? I dont want to buy a physical blue-ray. Just do be clear I want to buy it, Im not looking to pirate.

I'm assuming it's ppl who preordered the Super pricey boxsets that contained the blue-ray of the Ritz.

I'm a big fan and collect vinly but no way I'm spending that type of cash on a box set just to get the concert footage.

Sucks that it's bundled in with heaps of excess stuff. I'd be happy for the remastered vinyl, not in a fancy box set, plus the concert. But nope.

It'll be available soon though, albeit probably not through legit channels (highly doubt the do a paid digital download, which I'd be all over, as imagine that would have a negative effect on the boxsets).

As previous poster mentioned, I'd imagine they'll put some of it on YouTube eventually.

Matt says that the song was written when Weiland was in the band and he had even recorded vocals to it. I guess it's from around 2006.

You’ve got a great single out now called “Judgement Day,” which reunites you with some of your old bandmates. What are its origins?

So, people kept asking me to make more music. So, I was like, “I guess I’m gonna have to write some new stuff.” [Laughs]. And I signed a new deal with AFM Records out of Germany, so I said, “Let me get some of my friends together and make some music.” And with “Judgement Day,” I wanted to give lead vocals a try with the track and see if it would resonate with the fans. So, I had this old Velvet Revolver demo that we’d done, and it had all the guys and Scott [Weiland] on there.

I remember that at the time we did the demo, we were doing a lot of jamming in my studio, and we didn’t know what we were gonna do next, and it ended up in the vault. And when I started working on the new project, I started thinking, “Well, maybe that would be a cool one to put out.” So, I talked to Slash, Duff [McKagan], Dave [Kushner], and they were like, “Yeah, man, that’s a good song. Let’s go ahead and put it out.” Everyone was cool with it, so I did the vocals myself, and we got it done.

That vault of Matt's can stay closed lol.

He is a metronome of a drummer (not a bad thing BTW), but imo a terrible musician outside of that... And a massive insecure poser.

Guarantee he got a record deal based on fact he'd have GnR related names on the album and a few other famous names - which gets the label's minimal investment back.

Well, I guess? Rod also IMO sang the first Snakepit material better than Eric, there is simply no guy out there that can compete with that monster voice, it just makes pretty much any song better instantly just the way Axls did.

One of the biggest rock tragedies that Rod couldn't get past drugs to make it work. Eric in comparison, there's millions of guys out there that sound like that. Still prefer him to Myles though, I'll say that.

Always preferred Eric's voice Rods. Hands down.

But don't know much about Rod, knew there were drug issues, but how you've worded it - I'm off to go read about him.

It's like he's getting a redo on 1996. He's got the band that he wants with a guitar player that play toe to toe with Slash and he has the band under his control and ownership... No closer to deciding what the right next musical statement should be from gnr though

It will become to pieces one way or the other by some people. Either too classic and reminiscent of the old albums or too new and it not enough like the old music. He doesn't need to reinvent gnr again, he's already made that album. Logical move (Axl and logical... I know) is a balls to wall rock record 30/40 minutes long to not out stay its welcome. Plus balls to wall style music is all he sounds good singing these days so he could actually perform the singles live without dying on stage.

Basically just get in a studio, not take it all too seriously, and enjoy creating music.

There is no winning for them large portions of population will like it, large will hate it, many will just not care. Loads of articles about it not being the original lineup and plenty articles comparing it AFD. Doesn't matter how good or bad it is.

So basically. Decide if they want to enjoy what they got, the time they have, and bash out an album.

That's one thing I always made sure to do: we spun as much as we could all of the time. I had a lot of high dollar stuff that we spun constantly. I wasn't interested in owning it just to own it, ya know? I wanted to hear all of it.

Yes and no. We had people over to spin records every Friday for about 9 years. So I got a ton of use out of the records. These days I've got enough else going to where I'm honestly just fine with the faster, more convenient option of streaming.

Happy for you. Good luck with it, the move, and podcast changes.

Feels somewhat like losing a trail blazer of sorts to the digital realm though I must admit.

When I first moved down here, I was thinking I'd rebuild the collection to some extent. After a few months, I'm starting to think I won't bother. That collector was a LOT to keep up with and I don't see trying again going well 😂

Will you miss just spinning a record, as apposed to firing up the album on Spotify?

Slash clearly won't play any solos note for note, not even his own stuff. But he should treat it with respect, like the Nu Guns guys did with his material. Sure, Finck was horrible at the beginning and we all had a good laugh with Ashba's Patience solo, but overall they put the work into it.

The street of dreams solo is very well constructed, not much room for improvised noodling, imo.

Richard on the other hand is a very different kind of player, he's a hired gun thru and thru and used to playing other people's stuff note for note.

Lold for real with the 'we all had a good laugh with Ashba's Patience solo.'

Still chuckling. Completely forgot about that. :)

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn how Robin wrote it. Heard that version a hundred times anyway. I'd like Slash to have his own approach to it. Keep some basic line but otherwise make your own impression, man.

Songs like SOD imo need to have more of the core melody of the solo intact. Don't care who plays it, certainly put their own spin and flavour but keep core as to my ears with this song it's a big part.

Similar I guess to how a bunch of other gnr songs the solos melody is such a big part of the song.

Just finished the first two Kenobi episodes.

    Episode 1 review:

Really good! Not perfect, but good.

    Episode 2 review:

Welp, rebels isn’t canon anymore lol. But aside from that it was a great episode! I now see why they released these back to back. While part of me still wishes this was in theaters, the pacing of it is starting to make me more and more happy that this is a show instead.

Can only assume he isn't dead right?

Watched the two episodes and was really excited, not convinced so far though, but I'll be watching them all as they come available with high hopes.

I also felt that the inquisitors came across as complete pussies, why were they all so cut up about the third sisters actions? She was fully embracing the dark side for her needs and they seemed to not want that. It was odd.

I watched the Australian Bon Scott documentary featuring Brian Johnson along with Bon's brother, interviewed for the first and last time - in his own words. Thoroughly enjoyed it, though somewhat short. There was also a 17 minute interview uploaded with Brian just talking about meeting Bon when they were both on the same bill among other things.

Future Islands done a concert during the pandemic that was streamed PPV. I never bought it at the time and it was a one off, but finally managed to stumble across it and have had that on this morning. Amazing.

Caught that myself. Saw the Brian interview has been uploaded but not yet watched it, totally intend to.

  14. I care, from an interested perspective as to stuff I already know the answer too..... I.e. How will they sound, set lists, will it drive a new release, will they release decent stuff on YouTube or whatever etc.

But pretty much know the answers to why I'm intrigued but still I will check it out.

That said they're touring near me in the near future and I won't be going despite ticket prices already being slashed to  a more appropriate over priced amount. If I come across a freebie or prices are cut further etc I'd consider it. Unless of course they're blowing the world away prior to it and thus making it worth going.

  15. Congrats. Great news.

See if he wants to join in for a number :)

Mate of mine opened for him (ages ago now) and Steven was super excited just to playing and gigging and happily got involved. It's a memory/experience my mate still hasn't forgotten. Can't recall if he joined in on their set or everyone joined in on Adlers set, or both, think it was both.
