Just out of curiosity, whether he was innocent or not(I tend to lean towards thinking he's a pedo) do you think MJ shoulders any of the blame for how he's perceived?

To some degree yes of course. Regardless what you think he did or didn't do, he certainly brought some of it on to himself imo.

Re cancel culture and MJ. Imo if ppl dig his music and now think he's a pedo and thus refuse to listen to his music..... For me that speaks more about them than him.

For me personally, and plenty I've spoken too, listeners should be able to seperate the artist from the art (unless of course in his instance his songs were about pedo acts etc).

If u like someone's art and they're a massive fuckwit, who cares, so long as of course said persons art isn't portraying their fuckwitery.

  2. I seem to recall something similar with Michael Jackson?

A track or tracks that slash played on was toned down or something due to the same 'sounds too much like guns'.

Nfi where I'm getting this from but remember reading something about it decades ago. Or perhaps it was toned down and it was more the producer(s) having a concern that it might be too guns sounding.

Does seem odd to grab his services then ask him to play like Django, particularly in 1990 which was like peak slash sound almost.

I think, had he not laughed about it seconds before, he wouldn't come off as such a douche. Not to say that Rock doesn't come off as a douche too.

Yeah they both come off as a bit douchey. Rock is a better comedian than that, and it seemed like an off the cuff gag - just an easy shit one.

I thought it was all an act at first, then Wills reaction after he sat down wasn't acting imo (he isn't that a good actor to be fair) which changed my mind.

I felt his laugh before the incident was in fact acting though, it was his typical showbiz laugh we've seen him do countless times.

Pretty sure his reaction was also related to the potential for it to be open season of gags against him and his wife all night based on their whole open relationship thing that's been reported and commented on to death now.

Felt Rock handled it well (his reaction moments after once reality settled in also makes me think it wasnt staged), and part of me can understand Smiths reaction - but another part of me just thinks he could have sucked it up and spoken to Rock privately (or slapped him privately).

Voted for don't cry. Haven't listened to it in ages but just did. Aside from slash's solo and the ending it's pretty, pretty, prettyyy... bland.

Yeah, I've been voting for it for ages (once live & let die went).

I'd have thought November Rain would have had more votes by now too.

I've had a few Live Like A Suicide pressings over the years. The only one I have currently is the one from the Locked & Loaded set. To my knowledge no real / original pressings were even sealed though.

    New video :)

You'll enjoy Nico. How the song Soup didn't end up on the album Soup I don't know.

Do you have any live like a suicide pressings. Would be very interested in a post about those from you, wasn't there a Russian pressing plant that had the plates and could press essentially counterfeit pressings, do they sound good, how can u tell difference between legit and not legit etc.

I've got two now, one was sealed but I'm questionable to its legitimacy - in all honesty I don't think back then they would have been sealed (I've opened and enjoyed it). The other Is beat up as all hell, pops n skips etc.

  7. Messed up again due to delays with postage and stuff, and looks like I've got a duplicate record arriving.

    R.L. Burnside - Worried Blues

Fat possum release, should be sealed brand new etc.

Hit me up if anyone wants it when it arrives or wants to do a swap.

i think neither, Liverpool or ManCity) will win all games untill the end. It's a lot of football in relatively short period of time...

I agree. I think there is more points to be dropped by both teams, but I'm loving that it isn't a guaranteed forgone conclusion - which tbh it was looking to be for a while.

It's insane how many points are needed now to win the league though.

If City save it, it will be in their head to head match at the Etihad.

Could you imagine the outrage if the unbelievable happens and Liverpool win the remainder of games and lose by a point or goal difference to City post the Everton penalty drama and the apology and acknowledgement Everton got.

That be two seasons Liverpool finish runners up due to craziness. This penalty and the millimetres from a few seasons ago.

(obviously I'm aware that a whole season has ups and down and shit goes your way and doesn't, and its in the clubs hands to win each games etc.) still mental to consider that.

I've started to recently take lessons and the song I am about to start is the Blind Melon song Change. I'm using Ultimate Guitar for the chords. On the app there is a button to listen to the song (if you want to play along with it). On that song (and others) it plays the official video. Does anyone happen to know how to change which video it plays? I want to use the 1993 live at alternative nation version.

(apparently there is a connection between UG and Russia and some people are abandoning the app bc of that, I'm sticking with it so I'd rather not get into a war/political discussion).

Brilliant song by an awesome band. Fun to play too. That was one of the first songs I think I ever learnt beginning to end, a lifetime ago now, the solo is nice as well and not exactly a massive challenge but rewarding to play and feels great.

Check out their acoustic version of Candy Says on youtube, particularly the performance in a dutch (think it's Dutch) studio. Absolutely fantastic.

When you can type out a full question you sure can type 2 words into Google. Nevermind that she's a legend on the guitar. That's all.

    K. There are hundreds of legends on the guitar and I guarantee I could list a bunch you don't know. What's the point there?

I've been a fucking GNR nerd for multiple decades mate and her name never crossed my path. There are olive branches of this band that can stretch quite far and wide.

I also was responding to OP, not you, and explained why I was asking and commenting on his content.

Sure I could type her name, two words into Google, and then what? Scroll for what I want, filter through a bunch of articles and interviews I've no interest in reading etc. As apposed to commenting on a forum and on topic, engaging in conversation which is the purpose of this place.

I'd be more concerned about the little Internet high horse that you're on, calling me out for essentially chatting to someone about the topic in question in an open forum. Look in the mirror and assess yourself. I'm going to go out and on a limb and say you're young 20s - not necessarily living with parents still, as that's too easy - but enjoy the world of reddit and pointing out pointless shit like spelling or comments like 'use google' as if you're smarter than others and getting a wee chubby over it. Way too much time on your hands basically.

How's it bothered you what I asked someone directly, other than the Google recommendation (que that old meme you probably think is edgey re: googling) ? OP responded, and the answer gave me literally what I was talking and enquiring about, and again on topic. You felt the need to go off topic for the sake of being dick it seems.

That to me speaks worlds of you and your character.

So, yeah, you're still a knob in my eyes.

The ONLY records I have that are autographed were done so by the artists when I met them. Never in one million years would I pay extra for an autograph. I don't pay for meet & greets either though.

    I agree with this too.

Though in saying that there have been a few records I've been excited about and the preorder / early release, or whatever, has come as signed copy for a few extra $. Don't mind that if it's reasonable priced and gets me the music I'm excited about and have been looking forward to faster. These avenues also tend to go as direct as possible to the artists pocket which I dig.

Seriously, instead of typing her name into Google, you have to ask here, who she is??

Yeah I do. It was direct communication to the OP and its a discussion forum with my question on topic.

I Google plenty thanks, but there is zero reason why not to ask someone specifically than delve into own research.

Also you have no idea as to my current state at that time of writing, perhaps in the exact moment I didn't have an opportunity to Google and read, so hitting up OP helps that. Not everyone can be nerding up about interests 24/7.

Perhaps find something else to police on the Internet ya knob.

I wouldn't say "political correctness" is a factor with this show.

They're never really making fun of others, the target of their jokes is almost always the characters.

    Exactly right.

Even the blackface episodes that are pulled these days applies to this. But I understand  why it's easier for companies backing the show to just remove it and carry on than leaving it as is and constantly having to address it as its a really easy target, so just remove it and move on.

But there was clearly nothing in it apart from highlighting how messed up the core characters are which is the same in every episode lol, from the first one onwards.

Wasn't one of the first episodes them going to abortion protests to pick up chicks, and jumping sides depending on their views of what their success rates would be or something? Those first handlefull of seasons were brilliant (still dig the show).
