  1. If the band was as stupid as some of you, and decided to cash in on somebeody's death, I'd delete my account immediately and talk shit about them for the rest of my life.

I don't care if it's Osama or Obama. It's still a medieval and disturbed thought.

Why not celebrate when some of the american cowboys hits a road bomb in Iraq instead?

Stupid morons. The whole situation is a tragedy. For americans, arabs, palestines and afghans alike.

It's all about where you live. If I was an iraqi father and american troopers killed my kids, I wouldn't give a flying fuck about their motives for entering my country.

Oh, by the way, what was the motive again?

  2. I am stunned and sad for Eric, High, Madison, Gunsguy and all the other contributors. I salute you.

That being said, this forum has weakened every year since the release. After the anticipation, there was not much left. The mystery and magic was gone.

BUT, this is/was and will always be THE GnR forum and I'm shocked beyond reason, that the band/management can be THIS FUCKING STUPID! They're peeing in their pants to keep warm. BAD, BAD strategy.

A football team, a writer, a newspaper or a band is NOTHING without its fans. The fans are the holy grail for them. It's them that puts the money in at the ground level. The closing of this board can ONLY - I repeat - ONLY be negative for the band.

Over the last couple of years, I've started to feel really alienated by the band. Guess my feeling was right.

They have done FUCK ALL, apart from milking their fans for dollars, touring the world at places they knew they'd sell out, or at least make a big profit. Apart from that, Axl acts like everyone, the fans included, is his enemies.

When people listen to music, their feelings either makes them like it, or dislike it. We also put alot of feelings into a song BEFORE we listen to it. Now that Axl has finally shown what a fucking emotionally retarted moron he is, I think it will take one hell of an effort to win back his fans through music alone. Cat Stevens became a muslim and moved to the middle east and lived as a munk. Fine. It was his choice. He disappeared and the fans had to accept it. No more music from that brilliant lad. With Axl though, it's his complete arrogance that bothers me. It's clear that he doesn't want to be in music anymore. He hates everything about it. I'm sure he doesn't hate his fans, but it's all just a burden on him.

I have nothing against Bill Bailey, the private guy, but Axl Rose is loosing new fans every day, and it now has nothing to do with the old band. It's the new bands attitude that despise me.

Congratulations GnR! You've managed to surgically remove your own spine when you needed it the most!

I feel sorry for Ron, DJ, Richard, Dizzy and the rest. They're into this project with their hearts and souls. They're proud to represent GnR.

    Sadly, Axl is not.

  3. I agree. As a whole, CD is rather average. The highlights are great, but the rockers suck ass. Better, TWAT, The Blues and maybe a couple of others are worthy the GnR name, but not the rest. The magic has gone and the die-hards are slowly starting to realize that.

That being said, I don't think a reunion would bring it back. Probably just as a memory of the last great rock n roll band.

When Justin Bieber's "Baby" has as many views as no 2-10 on the list combined, that says it all. The era of giants has died.

  4. I'm about to give up every slim hope that I ever had about a reunion. For 6-7 years I've been reading this forum with hope. Now I don't care anymore.

The biggest let-down is this feeling I got about a year ago that Axl is everything I don't him to be. He makes life way more complicated than it is. His existence seems to be all about problems. Where is the humour, the fun? I don't even doubt that his crazyness made him want to fire and sue DJ, make an enemy list and do all the other stuff mentioned in that list. I don't relate to him anymore.

    It's sad.

  5. Then leave. You have no fucking idea what you're on about. God this shit is painful to try and deal with.

How about giving him an idea if you think he has none?

I understand it's quite a task to moderate around the "don't wake Axl up" calls but how does that put you in the position of telling those who ask questions and voice criticism to leave because they don't know it better due to the mods very own no-info-at-all policy?

Sad to see how this band is dividing people instead of bringing them together.

It's got nothing to do with not waking up Axl and everything to do with being in the unfortunate position of having an Administrator who currently has no way of accessing the forum. He's back very soon (now, I think).

You guys will have an explanation very very soon. Surprised half of you haven't worked it out yet - why would we suddenly pull everything without explanation and say that we can't say anything? After all these years of not censoring discussion, the best you guys can come up with was that we suddenly decided to? To get party passes?

EDIT: Oh and no - I wasn't insinuating any of this was Eric's fault.

Hi. I haven't really followed the "censoring" lately, but you seem to imply that

a)Eric is involved with Msl or

b)we will get news from the band soon or

c)this forum got a letter from Axl's lawyers telling you to clean up

    am I right?

  6. They weren't interested in rushing out new material in time for the big euro festivals when there were still no US dates in sight.

This is the CRITICAL point: US dates.

When we get them, the company will want to back this album. They don't care about pushing an album with no tour in sight. Remember, UMG US don't want to spend money on an album that could be forgotten before the US tour even starts. That's just clever business on their part.

  7. It's easy to spot the elephant in this case. This "Yoursoright" or whatever, is clearly a fake dude playing with us.

Robin F is just as clearly "the real deal".

Anyway, the plan was to release the second album THIS november and I'm sad it didn't turn out that way. We have a delay on our hands and in the GnR world, a delay can mean whatever.

How do you know Robin F is the real deal though?

Because over on NewGnr, he's quite specific. It's not that hard to tell a lie from the truth.

The "insider" here on MyGnr, is just a moron. NOTHING he says is news. It's just a twist on whatever available information we have at the moment.

After years on these forums, with similar things happening in the past (Mysterion, anyone?), you just get that feeling. Trust me, Robin F is the real deal.

  8. It's easy to spot the elephant in this case. This "Yoursoright" or whatever, is clearly a fake dude playing with us.

  9. The Illusions are great, great records. Axl's genious and vision surely contributed to some of it, while all the others were also invaluable members.

Some of you guys are pathetic. Sorum didn't ruin anything, he's a damn melodic drummer. Dizzy's piano really does it for me on some of the songs. Axl's "overproduction" is brilliant on most of the Illusions, while abundant on parts of CD.

Appetite, UYI 1 and UYI 2 are just remarkable albums written and played by the best band around. Leave it at that.

  10. 1. November Rain

    2. Estranged

    3. Rocket Queen

    4. Patience

    5. Welcome To The Jungle

    6. Nightrain

    7. It's So Easy

    8. Civil War

    9. There Was A Time

    10. Don't Cry

On The Bench: Used To Love Her, Sweet Child O'Mine, Paradise City, So Fine, Breakdown, Mr. Brownstone

  11. At least he's got it right saying Slash couldn't pen a great song to save his life.

See Slash fans, Slash didnt do shit.

To be fair, no one else could have come up with those amazing solos of his.

Except for Buckethead or Bumblefoot or Guthrie Govan or any other guitarist that's more talented than he.

Negative. NO ONE would have come up with something better than the SCOM solo, or the NR solos, or the Estranged pieces, or Locomotive, or Coma.

BH is amazing, but we must give credit to Slash for writing to IZZY's songs.

Maybe to no one who actually knows music theory and knows how it works. Slash isnt a good musician nor guitarist. I hate to say it, he's fun, and he knows the basics, but GnR is better off without him.

lol, now i know you're full of BS........ keep posting, it makes for a laugh!!!

Truth is the truth hurts.....don't you agree?

not debating wheter Slash is a "good musician or guitarrist"... but using "music theory" to rate him proves you know squad, about music theory

CdLove: you shouldn't talk about things that your brain evidently cannot fathom. Keep the musical insider stuff to your offline friends, cos on here you're just making a fool out of yourself.

If music was a five-step stairway, you would be on step one along with the tonedeafs.

When was music EVER about technique? It's strange, isn't it, that 10-year-olds across the world can play Mozart and Beethoven on the piano? But then again, Mozart and Beethoven were lesser musicians than Bucket and Bumble.

  12. Ok. It's great to hear you're better. Let's hope it continues.

And you should seriously consider taking the supplements I advised for you.

    - Turmeric

    - Omega 3 fish oil

    - Omega 6 fish oil

They're proven to help the body in many, many ways.

  13. In my opinion CD is one of the most underrated albums ever. It's sad that a lot of people don't even give it a chance.

    CD: 10/10

    Shacklers: 8/10

    Better: 10/10

    SOD: 9/10

    ITW: 7/10

    TWAT: 10/10

    CITR: 9/10

    Scraped: 9/10

    Riad: 9/10

    Sorry: 8/10

    IRS: 9/10

    Madagascar: 9/10

    TIL: 10/10

    Prostitute: 10/10

Yeah. It's pretty much one of my all time favorite records. And now I've tried to be critical.

Many of my fellow norwegians are delusional, I reckon.

    I'd put it like this:

The only songs worthy of the GnR name are Better, Street of Dreams, TWAT, Sorry, Prostitute and perhaps This I Love.

The rockers on CD belongs to a different genre than classic GnR and I don't like them very much.

To say that CD is one of the most underrated albums ever is.....I don't even know what to call it...

  14. I'm ok with most keyboard parts, but I could do without some of Axl's additions. His backing vocals completely ruin the experience of listening to Dust N Bones on headphones, that speech on Get In The Ring turned an otherwise pretty good song into a kind of a joke song (granted, the lyrics weren't that great anyway, but the music is sick), the coda of Breakdown can't be heard because of that completely unnecessary and out of place movie quote and that Don't Cryyyyyyyyyaaaaaayyyyyyyaaayyyyy ending a bit annoying.

quite the opposite, illusions are perfect as they are now

Expect for the drum sounds that belong to the eighties

You are cool! You said the exact same thing as Axl.

    Moron.

What about the drums on The Beatles' records?

"Fuck Ringo, those drums are soooo 60s. I wish Brain would re-record them. Fuck.."

    Kid.

  15. From a new Bumblefoot interview...

    9. We know you will be busy with GNR for quite some time abroad, but a recent article in Bergen mentioned Dizzy Reed and DJ Ashba talking about writing a new album - possibly due to 2011. Are you writing with the band too? Are the other recorded songs from the Chinese Democracy sessions scraped (no pun!)? Anything you could share on this matter?

People ask us all the time about a next album and we all speak the same truth, that we would *like* to work on another album, and hopefully will. I think some quotes in that Bergen Norway article got lost in translation, from what the band said to what was printed, to how it was translated again to other languages. Right now the focus is touring, bringing the live show to the world. After that, we'll see what's best to do next...

Thus : they are not officially working on a new album. Yes, they are probably jamming a lot during rehearsals but Ron wouldn't call that "writing a new album".

    Disappointing but hardly surprising :shrugs:

Why ask Bumble? He is friendly, but can't speak for the band because the band is Axl. The rest have signed contracts to shut up. Asking Bumble about GnR is like asking Obama's African relatives about future White House Politics.

  16. Those who prefer Chinese Democracy over Appetite or the Illusions should be banned from this site.

Those who prefer Buckethead over Slash should be banned from this site.

GnR is a shadow of it's former self, and even a dysfunctional shadow at that.

    I still like them though.
