  1. Maybe Axl should take a hint, and give them something a little more official to play. The interest is clearly there, for christs sake, some stations were playing IRS once every hour. Now, I like IRS, but its hardly a great track, and the response has been very positive. Now, imagine what the response would be to a great song?

  2. I'd like an official statement, explaining the recent leaks. Where they could have came from, what they mean. Maybe thanking the fans for their positive support despite the fact they weren't supposed to get out.

Maybe let the fans know whats in store for the future.

Address rumors of guitar players. Its been a while, tell us who is, and isn't still with the band.

The album of course, when is it coming out?

Then cover the tour, list the shows planned and the dates.

I'd just like to know the current state of the band. Is there anything to look forward to in 2006, or is it going to be another year of disappointing nothingness like 2003,2004 and 2005 were?

  3. The only song he really played piano on during the most recent tour was November Rain. I can't see them leaving said song off any setlists, so I assume that you will be seeing Axl play piano, at least once per show.

  4. Why doesn't Merck try telling us what is going on, as opposed to always saying what isn't going on?

I'm guessing he wants to release all of the info about the tour, album release date and guitarist at the same time - and not on the Monday of a long holiday weekend. Just my guess.

I don't think we're gonna hear anything, personally... I don't believe for one second that this album is coming out ths year. I believed in 01, 02, 03, and 04... after that, I just kind of gave up.

  5. Well, my opinion is biased since I think Velvet Revolver is terrible. I've never been a huge fan of Scott Weiland to begin with, and think his voice doesn't fit the type of music. That being said I like "Slither" a lot, and I think "Fall to Pieces" is a decent song, but other than that I really don't find myself listening to much VR.

Now, what are we comparing, just the leaked tracks or all of the "new" Guns material?

The leaked tracks are decent. I really find "There was a time" growing on me, and it happens to be my favorite of the three leaks. "Better" has potential, but I refuse to pass judgment on an incomplete track. "I.R.S." needs a bit of work, but I hear the potential in the track. Again, we're being asked to judge tracks that clearly(or hopefully) aren't complete yet. Bringing the other tracks "Madagascar", "The Blues", "Chinese Democracy", etc... into the discussion- hands down, Guns has the edge.

But again, I don't like VR to begin with.

  6. I know most of you think Axl doesn't owe anyone anything... those people are wrong.

Axl owes Philly and Vancouver, BIG TIME. I hope he does the right thing, and gives each of those cities a special show. That includes showing up on time.

And he knows he is always welcome back in the Garden.

  7. They are never going to do a tour of "only new songs." GnR has too many big hits(Jungle, Paradise City, November Rain, Sweet Child O' Mine, Patience to name a few), that those songs will be a mainstay on their setlist until the very end of the band.

I expect mostly Appetite songs, the usual suspects off of the UYI albums, and maybe a shakeup of the "new" songs played

  8. Because their management is terrible. And thats the nicest way I can put it. They never let the fans know what is going on, I mean with the recent leaks, release date rumors, tour dates, etc... can we get something on the official website? I've edited a website before, it should take all of an hour at the most to make the necessary updates/announcements.

  9. Nothing is certain with this band, everytime you think they take one step forwards, there is another two or three steps backwards. The tour, the VMA's... it all led to nothing. These tracks are nice, but I feel they were unintentional, and will lead to nothing. Its clear Axl is in no rush to get this record out.
