Chinese Democracy was album of the year in 2002, when we first heard it.
Day & Age by the Killers FTW.

Day before my birthday rock2

Yes, we all know the words to Used to love her by now....
-
Same tired ass set they've been playing since 2000. Yeah, there have been a few adjustments with the addition of "better" and "IRS"... but I don't expect much difference. Don't expect the illusions stuff.... its not going to happen.
-
He never gave a year....
I wish if there have been any further delays, they would announce it on the website.

Super Bowl??
in 2006
Would it be smart- yes.
Will it happen- absolutely not.
-
In his defense, he never said March 6th 2007.
-
I just sense another few years of absolute silence. Welcome to 2003-2005 all over again.

I do picture this a a November Rain song where axl sings it sitting at the piano. I can't see him running around on stage during this one.
-
So what, we lose the "do you know where the fuck you are!"... he can just scream: "WOULD YOU LIKE PORK FRIED RICE WITH THAAAAATTTT!!""
:chinese democracy opening riff:

I think TWAT or Catcher would be very good closers if Axl ever decides to get out of the past and put appetite to rest.

I'm buying it too. Thats not the point. The point is how many people who haven't been going to these sham tour dates for portions of the past 6 years will buy the record? We're not the ones Axl has to impress. We've heard half his album already, and I think in general its pretty good stuff. The thing that scares me is that at the larger venue shows, the crowds were not in to the new material at all. The hammerstein shows, most were into it, because it was made up of a large percentage of people I would consider die hard fans.
I want the album to succeed, and think it will to a degree. However, I think most reviews will say that the record is good- but.... and the "but" will likely be followed by something stating that it doesn't warrant a wait of over 10 years.

Some of you have to face reality and realize that most of the world doesn't give a fuck about Guns N Roses anymore, let alone a stripped down, overglorified Axl Rose solo project. It probably wouldn't be as big of a joke if Axl released the album in say... 2000, or 2002, but now its been an awful long wait for an album that regardless of how good it is, is going to be a laughingstock and a running joke due to the fact that no piece of music on earth can warrant this kind of a wait.
I'm not saying the record is going to sell poorly, because it won't. The sales will be respectable, and I think the album is going to be really good. But Axl isn't taking over the world, or even regaining his past glory. You should just take it for what it is, and not what you expect it to be, because if you're going by your blind GNR fanboy expectations, you're gearing up for a huge disappointment.
Then again if you really want some pessimism, there is always the fact that the album is probably not coming out in 2007, and we're just going to get dicked around by Axl.
AGAIN.

My two cents... Axl found out EODM were tight with Dave Grohl and flipped the fuck out.
-
He is solid... second best guitarist in the band to Ron imo.
-
Some alteration would be nice... everything seems too generic.

With every passing "Tuesday" it seems less and less likely we'll be getting anything this year. There are only 9 left... tomorrow, October 31st, November 7, 14, 21, 28, and December 5, 12, 19, 26.
I'll eliminate 2 right now: Tomorrow, and 12/26.
What sense would it make to release an album after Christmas, when a pre-christmas release could greatly boost sales?
-
Why don't we worry about the non-hidden tracks first...
-
If its a 13 song one disc album, I want no covers... if its a three disc set like some rumors state, I wouldn't mind up to two cover songs. That is only if its this supposed three disc thing... GNR does do cover songs well, and if I'm getting 30+ songs, I wouldn't mind 2 of them to be covers.

"Godzilla" by blue oyster cult and "out of touch" by hall & oates with special guest guitarist G.E. Smith

And yes, the eddie pic is real. I came across it browsing pics of the elton john party

Nah, its Skeletor wearing an evh mask

Nah, but here is a pretty great Eddie Van Halen pic.

I'd be shocked to see Axl playing... but wouldn't it be wonderful to hear one of these new songs live?

Tonight's lithograph is much better than last night's generic one. Hope they have a shirt with that design.
