scored 2 tickets in pit 1 through the presale.

Yeah, me too.  They didn't even come up when I tried at noon, btu I tried again at about 12:45 just for shits and giggles and got em.  I think they might still be available now

If the tickets sell well, it will probably be no opener or a relative no name.

Fiction Plane, Sting's son band IIRC, opened The Police reunion tour. Those were sold out arenas, not stadiums obviously.

Van Halen/DLR reunion in 2008 had Bob Marley's kid I had never heard of open an arena show.

Not a reunion, but AC/DC Black Ice tour was opened by what seemed like a local band in 2009.

Pink Slips?  They're actually not a bad band

More of a wish list, but most of these are possible I think

    Iggy Pop

    Body Count

Social Distortion - legendary, but they've opened for other bands like Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters

    Silversun Pickups

Gary Clark Jr. - Musically a good fit, but more as the opener and not the main support act, if there's more than one.

Had a weird but good experience with the Citi presale. Originally it said PIT was sold out for San Diego, so i got seats in section B. I then checked 10 minutes later and PIT was open, so i bought that too.

Similar experience for San Francisco, except that the first time I searched it said no tickets were available at all.  I put my search in again, and after about 10 minutes in the queue (during which time, I was ready to give up) it came back with pit tickets.  I'm happy.  Much better choices than Nightrain.  I guess I just bought an expensive t-shirt.

This was on the TM mobile app, BTW.  Thanks to those who suggested using it.

  5. What time is gnr set to take the stage on Sunday? And Neil young? Anyone know?

Sunday's show starts and ends earlier, usually done by around 9-930pm So assuming GNR and Neil are the last bands up, maybe GNR at 7:30 and Neil at 8:30?

looks like it's a 2 day event, i wonder if guns plays on both days.

Unless otherwise specified, all bands are playing both days.

  6. I want Axl to sing a song with Neil Young.

    "old man" please

    That would totally work!

They do a big jam thing with all the performers at the end, sometimes on one of Neil's songs, sometimes a song by Dylan or someone else. It would be perfect time for KOHD, and they would have to let Axl take one of the verses if they did that oe

  7. I live in the Bay Area and have been to 7 or 8 of these benefits. It is, in my opinion, the greatest annual concert event anywhere. It's been a dream of mine to see GNR (whatever lineup) play. Or even Axl by himself on the piano. But I still didn't see this coming AT ALL.

It's such a great show with such a positive vibe, that I hope Axl doesn't fuck it up somehow. I think he'll do fine.

  8. Duff is friends with a couple of the guys in Pearl Jam (Stone and Mike), stemming from his days in Seattle.

I remember reading some article where they talked to Doug Goldstein (I think) about whether GNR was going to play at Woodstock 94, and Doug said that Axl wanted to do it if Pearl Jam was playing. Of course, neither of them ended up playing.
