  1. couldjust be from when someone copyied it to the web

Yeah but someone is obviously trying to make this look like it was scanned from the magazine itself.

I don't have a RS issue with me, but this does look the way their reviews look. And I think they do spell the band name that way, with the lower case "n". Whoever came up with it apparently did their homework, but forgot to proofread it

  2. With two typos, I'm wondering if it's real, would be nice, but I'm not sure.

So only one other person is puzzled by these typos?

Also, why is Chinese democracy italicized while USE YOUR ILLUSION I AND II are capitalized? They're both album titles. You'd think a publication like Rolling Stone wouldn't be so inconsistent.

  3. If you look at the songwriting credits on the Illusion albums, a lot of the songs where Slash has a credit are what I would call "riff rockers" (for lack of a better term). So far there haven't been any songs that are quite like that, and maybe that's what the other guys would have preferred to do.. Yes, most of the leaked songs would not sound out of place on the Illusions, but they're Axl-type songs.

  4. Hong Kong is a little different. It is under China, but they have their own government. They are under pressure from China (a little more than people would like), their chief executive is appointed by China, but they do get to elect their own legislators. It is kind of a Chinese Democracy, which made it a very appropriate place for Axl to launch his tour. Any albums you can think of are freely available there, in legit shops.

  5. Plus wasn't Chinese Democracy inspired by the film "Kundun", starring Richard Gere, which deals with the struggle of Tibet against the Chinese government? Yeah, something tells me China won't be too fond of that song. I'm surprised they haven't pulled whatever GNR albums are approved over there already, but I guess they don't really pay to close attention to stuff like that.

  6. hahahah look at twiggy in that picture. he looks all grown up.

wait a second... whose that guy on the far right? i don't really know nin too well, but, is that zim zum???

I think that's Aaron North, the new guitarist, who used to play in The Icarus Line (who I heard were big GNR fans)

  7. even if CD the song isnt on the album, it should still be called CD.

    yes definately.

the song CD kinda sucked anyway.

    I wouldn't miss it.

Also, it can be in the great tradition of albums where the song didn't appear on the album it was named after...like Houses of the Holy and Waiting For The Sun

Anyway, now that we've heard a fair amount of material from GN'R and VR, who would you say is "better"?

I am ONLY asking this because of the endless bitching I got from VR fans (many on IMDb) who told me, "At least these guys are rocking while Axl isn't doing anything."

Look, I really like VR. Fall to Pieces, Slither, Come On Come In, Dirty Little Thing - good songs.

But in my opinion, Axl is rocking harder on IRS than on any VR song and is composing more powerful ballads with The Blues and TWAT.

So...out of what we've heard SO FAR, which band do YOU think has produced better-quality work?

I will say that for most of Axl's songs, I know I will be still be listening to them five years from now. Hell, it's five years since I first heard some of them like The Blues and Madagascar, and I still like them. I'm already tired of most of VR's songs.

  9. I still havent heard Axl jump in and say "Yo, my name is Axl". When he does that, then maybe you can start being babys. Til then, get your panties outta there twist.

I know...real hip-hop fans would not consider that to be anything close to hip-hop.
