  1. yeah. gotta love pixels the size of a large island. and soundquality that's almost an insult to the music that's actually in the noise somewhere. :P

haha.. I really want to see this in quality.

The energy in that little clip is insane though! I wish I was there, even if I was standing at that distance

  2. I'm wondering if the transitions between those parts were changed.

It's a valid question though. It sounds like some of the other songs like The Blues and TWAT had some changes from versions we'd heard before, so it's not out of the question that Better was changed as wel.

  3. you know fuckin aerosmith and the stones did there fans a favor and picked amazing openers back in the day! It should be axl's turn to show us some new up and coming band thats awesome. not just some mtv emo bullshit.

Hell, how about GNR's openers on the Illusion tour? Some the greatest bands of the 90's right there...Faith No More, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Smashng Pumpkins, Body Count.

I guess it's kind of the same situation that he's picking whatever the hot buzz band is at the time. But it's also not the same, in that the bands back then didn't suck.

  4. Lots of media is based in NYC, so this is good to drum up publicity. Vegas has it going on too, but Axl was competing with all the other stuff that happens in Vegas on New Years Eve.

Also New York is the scene of Axl's last triumph, a sold out MSG gig.

  5. Fucking Republicans...

Now, I was only kidding with that post, but I seriously am curious about this, I know Kid Rock is a big-time Republican. Can we verify that Lars is?

This picture is what makes me think he is:

His t-shirt seems to say "California Republican". Anyway, I know this is stupid and meaningless, but could someone please indulge me?

It says "California Republic". It's the official state flag of California, it doesn't really have to do with the political parties.

I don't know about his political stance, although "Don't Tread On Me" which came out after the first Gulf war could be interpreted as pro-war

  6. 2. On an unrelated note, why wouldn't Alan Niven want to manage the ex gunners?

My theory is, he wanted to manage them, and might even have been under consideration (since he was present at rehearsals), but when they went with someone else he got pissed off and now wants to kiss Axl's ass. Hell, maybe the ex-Gunners were in favor of hiring him but Scott was against it, for whatever reason.

  7. Didnt you guys ever hear that Eazy-E and Axl had done some recording together years ago? Was this ever confirmed?

I heard it was Slash that recorded with Eazy. Not sure what album it ended up on.

  8. LOL. This is the best. If you read the article carefully, it never says WHICH month; it only says next month, but never references a month. What if the article wasn't supposed to be posted until May? Then that would mean the album is coming out in June, right? But wait... if that article was posted in February, that means that we're going to see Chinese D this month. Oh wait, we don't know whether or not it was written in February.

Well it says that Axl was hinting at festival appearances this summer. In reality, he's done more than just hint, so I think this could have been written just after the Rolling Stone interview but before the festival dates were announced

  9. For example. Look at Metallica. They are also working on a new album. They update their website several times in a week. There are photo's of the band working in the studio, news about who is involved in the production of the album, tour dates and so more. That's how you keep contact and how you show respect for your fans. When you look at the G N' R website it's still the same like 4 years ago. Then i ask to myself. How much respect has Axl for his fans? It's because of us,the fans, that he was/is a great rocker. So i think it's getting time that he shows us some repect after all these years that we have supported him.

I don't know if it's because of the fans that he was a great rocker. I think it's because he was a great rocker that we all became fans in the first place. Sure, our support contributed to his success and legendary status, but it's not like we got nothing in return. Although I definitely appreciate the bands that have a better connection with their fans, I'm also under the belief that bands don't really owe their fans anything. I pay them money, they give me a CD, end of transaction.

There are exceptions of course...cancelling tour dates that people have already bought tickets for, that's shitty. Showing up late for shows he does play is kind of disrespectful too. But as far as not giving fans any details about the recording process or anything else that's going on with regards to the band, I don't necessarily think we have a right to know. It's frustrating, and it's even stupid from a business standpoint, but I don't feel like I'm owed anything.

  10. Last year there was a mystery slot on the main stage and it ended up being Mudvayne or some shit. Avenged Sevenfold is pretty big right now...they're headlining a 5000 seat arena here

I'm just puzzled that with Slayer and Rob Zombie and Deftones releasing albums, with Metallica being on tour, and with Alice in Chains getting back together...THIS is the best lineup they could come up with?
