All albums leak. Period. Therefore, IMHO, you'll know the album is done when it actually leaks...Which is sad because I assume that will make everything just go to hell...I'd rather a solid release date and then have the album leak a week or so before it hits shelves...Instead, we'll prob. get silence, then a leak of the album, endless debate over whether it ACTUALLY IS the album, then an upset Axl deciding to not release it at all...

Hope I am wrong, but let's face it: EVERY album leaks. The Industry's biggest albums from last year (which, sadly, are of a much higher priority than GnR at this point) leaked. J Timberlake, Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, Fucking Nickleback-all those leaked. And, from the industry's perspective, keeping those from leaking were/are more important from preventing CD from leaking. CD won't be an INSTANT multi-platnum album...it will take a little time for Axl to win over the fans/critics he's pissed off over the last decade...But if the tunes are there, GnR will be back...but in the mean time, wait for the leak.

You know, I wish he would just release the damn thing but I have to say I would laugh my ass off if the album was to leak and then you would see Axl THEN busting ass to get it released. It would serve him right the fucking liar. I get more pissed off about this everyday, he fucking said he would let us know if there were going to be any delays, obviously the album isnt coming out on March 6th and we havent heard anything. We must be fucking morons to keep supporting this man, he obviously couldnt care less about us fans.

It doesnt bother me if the album doesnt come out on March 6th because he did say that was the "tentative" date, but he DID say that if for whatever reason that date changes he will keep us updated, which to this point he has not. Its three weeks away with no promotion as of yet so its not going to come out on March 6th, but it would be nice if he let us know something, anything.

Part of me wants to believe that they are just waiting before they announce the new date because this time they want to make sure its a solid date and that date will be in April or May, but the other part of me knows how much bullshit Axl talks and that it could get delayed until whenever.

I will say this, if they start touring without a definate release date "before summer", I will NEVER spend another dime on this band. Axl cancelled about 5 remaining shows so he could "finish the album" and if he just lied about that and continues to tour and lie to the fans then to hell with him and the band. If and when CD is finally released I will just download the album, no more financial support from me if he chooses to shit on his fans yet again.

I guess we will just wait and see.

I dont think people are as upset at thinking March 6th isnt the date as they are with the lack of communication. Axl said that March 6th is the "tentative" date, but he also said that if something changes and its delayed longer then we will be told. Well, as that date approaches and looks less and less likely we STILL havent heard anything about it being delayed, and Axl DID say he would keep us inforrmed.

Personally, I dont really care that much because I never once believed it would actually be out that day, but after reading Axl's reply I really did think he would keep us informed on what the status of the album was since he seemed pretty sincere in that letter.

I guess Axl just never ceases to amaze me.

I don't know about everyone here, but my biggest complaint I have is that Axl only tells us the news after the deadline passed. For example last year, when it became 2007 he finally made the announcement that it wasn't finished. I have a feeling he'll be doing the same thing again. Whatever, I have other music to look forward and listen too.

Actually, he made the announcement for the album not coming out the middle of December, 2006, not 2007. I do agree though that he waits until almost the last minute to say anything.

I have thought of this. How many diehard GNR fans do you think have passed away without ever being able to hear this album?? Its sad in a way, Axl delaying it for years on years, and when it finally comes out some of his greatest fans will not be able to enjoy it because of Axl's work habits.

This letter is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. I said if the album wasnt released and if we didnt get any explanation why I was done with this band, well now we got the explanation, so I have no reason to say fuck it.

I really wish it would leak right now, not only because I want to listen to it, but because it would light a fire under their asses and it would be hilarious to see them then rushing to get the album out.

The way they have been acting about this album and lying to the fans that would be my wish is for it to leak now, so they HAVE to release it.

Not that long till we find out if its bullshit with a 2006-release. 4 more tuesdays to go! (On the last tuesday we´ll probably get a press release saying the album has been delayed and that was what the so and so many tuesdays press release really was about.)

Im almost certain the album isnt coming out this year, just too little time. And if it doesnt come out, and we dont get a release date by the end of the year, then im done with this band.

Anyone of you that stick by Axl and support him after he straight up lies to you, is a damn fool. He has told the fans the album is coming out this year, and he is even touring under the CD name. And if he doesnt have enough respect to at least let the fans know when it will be out after claiming many times that it will be out, then fuck him.

I dont know who to believe, and honestly at this point I dont care. I do feel that what Axl did was out of line and classless, but I also think this other band should just let it go. They said there piece now lets move on.

And as far as who is telling the truth and who isnt, I honestly have no idea who to believe. I dont believe Merck anymore than I believe these guys.

1) Merck wouldnt admit those things happened even if they did.

2) Merck has been known for giving vague answers to questions and lying about things, so I dont believe a word that comes out of his mouth anymore.

And about this band not being able to "handle" a GNR crowd, thats bullshit. Maybe the crowd shouldnt act like fucking assholes to this band. Booing a band is fucking stupid, and it shows how classless a lot of the fans are as well. You dont like the band, you go get a beer, go get some fresh air, you dont ruin it for the people there that might actually be there to see the band.

I could see this happening at maybe a Slayer show, or Slipknot show, but not at a GNR show. I would like to think that even though GNR have very dedicated fans, that they also have classy fans, which seems to not be the case. Its sad really.

umm...I hate to tell you this, but Axl Rose doesnt have that kind of power in the music industry anymore. Axl is considered a joke now to most of the public so his comments on this band will not only have no negative affect on this band, but it also makes Axl look like more of an asshole.

And Axl has had some classic concert moments, but this sure the fuck wasnt one of them.

The Eagles of Death Metal made Axl look silly. He kicked them off the tour and their attitute was like, "Eh, fuck it." They couldn't even be bothered to try and insult Axl. Like shooting fish in a barrel, I suppose. They just laugh the whole thing off and go about their careers... like making albums, singles and videos.

Tell me why the hell Merck would tell us that the album won´t be out if that is the case, when people get more pissed of that then any information at all. You are wrong about this. People are pissed because of the lack of information. This isnt info, this is Merck being vague like usual, and telling us we will have some sort of info by the end of the year.

Here is the thing, Axl said on many of occasions that the album will be out this year. He used the word "absolutely", meaning its definitely coming out this year. Now even though he made this statement, I still understand that shit happens. Maybe something beyond his control is delaying the album, but we will not know this because they dont tell us SHIT. So it leaves us to speculate whats going on. People say Axl doesnt owe us anything, but I dont agree with that. Had he not made these statements about the album coming out this year, then I would say he doesnt owe us, but for him to say that to the fans, and then tour under the notion the album is coming out, I say he does owe us at least an explanation. You dont feed the fans all this info only to keep your mouth shut when it comes the time to deliever, thats shitting on the fans.

Look, I know some people would complain even with a statement, thats just how people are, cant be avoided. However, if Axl was to release a statement saying that he knows he said the album would be out this year, but due to (add reason here) CD will not be out until the beginning of next year. We apologise for the delay but I can assure you the album is still on its way and will only be delayed a short time, and will be well worth the wait. Thats all it would take and most people here would appreciate that wouldnt be pissed anymore. Its lack of communication that is really starting to turn people (including me) off of this band.
