Yes, seriously. If you don't care about Guns and prefer Axl in AC/DC that's your choice. But this is a GNR forum so it's more than justified to be pissed about Axl trying to fuck up the only chance of GNR to be big again. Which is exactly what he's doing and you'll see it for yourself.

this whole discussion is so useless.... Didn`t Axl once say: "This ain`t Burger King, you can`t have it your way"..... all this "Axl should do this, Axl needs to do that, Guns should have done that, they need to do this to be big again...."

It is what it is, and it is the biggest year for Guns in decades. Personally I think it is awesome that I at least get to see Axl in Europe this year. Really do not get the complaining, the Americans get the full Reunion tour AND Axl/DC shows and we Europeans at least get Axl/DC.

Holy shit AC/DC fans are rioting....

The "hardcore" AC/DC fans have propably seen their band more than enough in the past 40 years, let them riot on the internet. AC/DC shows here are pretty much family events, they will sell out even if the "hardcore" fans decide to boycott the shows.

Actually most comments on the Youtube for the Coachella vids of Whole Lotta Rosie and RiffRaff are positive. So I guess once Axl pulls it off in the first few shows decently I think most people will be happy that they had to chance to see (the remains of) AC/DC live for one last time....

  3. complain, whine, bitch....

I really do not understand why anybody would be unhappy to see his favorite singer (well at least should be in a Guns fan forum, not so sure though actually), to take a once in a lifetime chance to tour with the second biggest rock band on the planet (I guess only the Stones are bigger). Also it is not like the reunion would be a flop because of this (absolutely no logic behind that anyways....): The reunion tour is going great so far, I think Axl sounds pretty good, everybody in the band seems to have a good time.

Well except for some "fans"....Adler is not there, Slash will cry and get upset because of Angus, it is all Axl`s fault that Izzy does not want to tour, Frank is the worst drummer on the planet, Guns should only play club venues, 26 stadium (!!!?) shows are not enough, the bad press gives AC/DC more attention than the Guns reunion (what do you want to do? there was decent news coverage about the Guns reunion, but AC/DC just is the much bigger band nowadays), Axl will ruin his voice by singing (seriously?? he is a SINGER, that is what he does for a living!?), because of these 20 dates there will be never be no new guns album ever, Axl will fail miserably, Axl does not look like he looks on the poster in my room from 1989 anymore, Axl just broke his foot to get out of this reunion, everything is bad and can only get worse...

I mean what is wrong with you people? This is the most exciting year in Guns history in the past 20 years and half the forum still complains...

While I have a little more understanding for the AC/DC fans complaining, because that band is really dissolving rapidly, I do also do understand Angus. AC/DC has always been much bigger than the individual members (except for Angus) and if he wants to finish their last tour and give a million fans the opportunity to say goodbye. And if Angus can do it with a bang by signing one of the biggest names in rock, what the f.... is wrong with that?

I think he could sing the fuck out of AC/DC songs and actually bring something to them too, his voice has a sort of a theatricality to it that works brilliantly with the vocal work of someone like Bonn.  I thought his take on Whole Lotta Rosie from back in the day really added something to it, as did Slashes more looser guitarwork.

Just watched Whole Lotta Rosie and Riff Raff a couple of times, actually Axl is doing pretty good. Most of the not hardcore AC/DC fans I talked to were pleasantly surprised.  The hardcore AC/DC fans whine of course, but to be honest they will be a minority for the shows in Europe. The AC/DC shows I attended last year in Europe were more like family entertainment events, I actually think many will find it rather cool that 2 of the biggest names in rock history collide on one stage. In any way, I guess it is a once in a lifetime chance to see Axl playing with AC/DC, I really do not understand why any rock fan would not want to see that.

I reckon it will be AC/DCs last tour, so they go with a bang. Marketing wise also for Guns I think it is actually pretty good, the amount of news coverage is simply crazy....it has been everywhere from CNN to the tabloids to business magazins...

  5. only just found this thread...at least for me the forum is behaving very weird in the past couple of weeks (threads appear and dissappear and get not shown properly!?)

I think this is awsome news. Maybe once in a lifetime to see the biggest rock band in the world together with the greatest rock singer. I thought that Whole Lotta Rosie yesterday was pretty good. I look forward to see more

  6. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ac-dc-confirm-axl-rose-is-new-lead-singer-joining-band-on-tour-20160416

So as this is officially confirmed now, is anyone else as excited about it? Just bought tickets for several shows. The biggest hard rock band in the world together with the greatest rock frontman that sounds just too awesome.  Also Whole Lotta Rosie sounded really great last night together with Angus; can`t wait to hear more!

Who would have guessed that (at least in Europe) we gonna see Axl Rose as AC/DC singer long before the reunion...

  7. While I don´t really think that Melissa`s part is necessary as a second keyboard player, she also does not disturb me. She is nice to look at and actually her backing vocals are pretty good in some songs and in general a big improvement to Pitman. In the UYI tours they had a whole girlband on stage....

"The most dangerous band in the world" was a long time ago, some people really to live in the past (perhaps those will be the first ones to complain if a show starts late...). We now have members with a master in business, a pacemaker, a good 20 pounds too much and advertisement deals with Taco Bell......  oh not to forget with seating in GA for aged fans (which still highly amuses me as European ;) )

I look forward seeing them again on stage together, listen to the music I love, have a great time aged and some beers....

Hi all, kinda new here, hope you could help me out.

Been trying to get tickets via Nightrain (no luck) and am now thinking of the VIP packages. They say you get a reserved, numbered, seat down in the field (or whatever you call it). Since I am from Europe this gets confusing, back here it's usually only standing room (GA I guess is the term). So the field actually has physical seats in US stadiums?

I know, dumb question, but thanks for your help.

I had the same problem; as European it was very hard for me to believe that there are seats on the floor in a stadium at a rock concert. As far as I know in most venues they have a GA pit right in front which is standing only and seem to go for absolutely ridiculous prices.

dude nightrain presale was saturday citi presale is today- most of the nightrain tix were gone in a few hours. and as far as the discount axs nightrain presale was a discount when regular tix went onsale they were $100 more for the regular sale.

ticket master is a bullshit hassle i agree but you're a couple days late to the party

I couldn`t buy any tickets on the weekend either because the ticketmaster website was just loading forever when I wanted to buy a ticket...Also it says that the presale is going until the 8th. It seems very hard to believe that all tickets have been bought by nighttrain members, except they only limited them to a few per show ....But then I don`t really see the point of a presale as opposed to a general sale.

  10. I am utterly annoyed by this ticketmaster bullshit, so much right now that I am close to cancelling my travel plans....How hard can it be to buy tickets online? apparently very hard....

It is not that the nighttrain members get a discount or anything, why the hell do I always get the message that no tickets are available?!? There can`t be millions of nighttrain members, so why don`t they just open all the categories for us?

  11. Ticketmaster sucks....everytime I want to buy tickets the please wait animation loads and loads and loads and nothing ever happens.

Also I have to say, I am very happy to live in Europe if I see this ridiculous setup with 200 different ticket categories and VIP and not so VIP and everything in between packages. I feel ripped off already.....

I have been to hundreds of shows in Europe and the most they had were 4-5 different categories. And usually for the floor they only have 2 categories (front of stage and the rest; many bands like AC/DC only have 1 GA category and if you are early at the venue you can get front of stage).

Do I understand this correctly that most venues have seating on the floor (checked San Fran and Chicago)? How weird is that for a hard rock stadium concert? How does this work practically? Are all these sections on the floor in "little cages" so nobody walks up front?

  12. that would be YUUUUUUGEE to say it with Trump`s words. What an exciting time 2016 seems to be. Maybe that also explains why a full GnR tour is not announced yet. Musically wise I am very sorry for Brian and not sure if Axl would be the right fit for AC/DC, but as these are my favorite bands of all times (love Guns, but AC/DC are literally the definition of Hard Rock) I would wanna see this!!!!

The story has been picked up by the big news outlets all over Europe, the big tabloids here all published this rumour today. For some reason this seems much bigger "news" than the GnR reunion over here.

  13. I assume it is a business relationship but they are on friendly terms. I don`t think it is (only) about the money, of course more is always better in that perspective, but in the past years Axl`s net worth was estimated at least 150Mio. USD by various sources. Maybe it has more to do with the decline of attention Guns got, maybe as well as Slash and Duff with their projects. I remember seeing Slash a while ago in a concert hall with maybe 500 people.....

The only way they are ever able to play the really big crowds is with a Guns reunion. And if you get a really big check with it, even better.

  14. I am seriously considering to fly over to LAX from Europe to go to Coachella. I am pretty sure that as usual Guns first performance of a tour will be less than stellar, but it would be just for the excitement to see Guns together for the first time in 20 years. Also who knows how long everybody is able to stand everybody else on the stage....

However as this trip would be quite pricey, propably around 2000USD in total and I am completely unfamiliar with that festival I`d appreciate some input... You guys going? Or rather wait for the stadium tour?

The festival looks absolutely nothing like the big rock festivals we have here in Europe like Rock am Ring or Roskilde - but from the lineup (and prices) it seems to be a big temporary theme park with lots of very mainstream pop music and presumably that kind of audience!?!.....

  15. There is being critical of the joke that GNR has been since 2010 and there is being a cunt and taking every single opportunity to attack, offend or belittle anything affiliated with the band.

The amount of "lol fat cunt axl will screw this up", "beta this", "fernando that", and really just lots of pretentious and offensive shit is hard to understand. I find it idiotic and a clear sign of some issues in people's lives that have to be driven out safely, with the convenient barrier of a keyboard warrior, towards people they know will never confront them about it.

This from someone who has been very critical of all things GNR for the past few years.

I agree 100%.....one might criticize many things - but these insults and the constant complaints and fault seeking are really annoying. Some here even seem to want Axl to fail.... From the safe distance of my sofa I may not agree with the constant drama and chaos that surrounds this band and management, but after the long periods of darkness with no news and nothing at all this has to be one of the most exciting times for a fan ever. I keep my thumbs crossed and I am sure we will get more info "soon" ;)

  16. oh god....we are waiting for propably the best Guns news in decades and people are whining about the wrong reasons / motivations for this tour and that it is no real reunion because presumably Izzy does not want to take part..... This is madness...the same people complained year after year that they don`t care about the new Guns and Ashba and whoever else.

Of course bands go on tour to make money, what the hell? That does not stop me from enjoying the music, having a few beers and be super excited about Axl, Slash and Duff. Am I happy with the prices? no, but I am sure every real fan can save some money to enjoy at least one show.

  17. That is sad news....Guns nowadays seems to be nothing but a Facebook channel posting cat videos and happy hump days wishes. Such a shame, but then again expected in a way. It is my Impression that Mr. Rose seems to think he has all the time in the world.

Time to enjoy the bands that actually do tour and produce albums once in a while. Have just been at an AC/DC show with 120.000 people :headbang::headbang: Considering their troubles, age and lineup changes it was damn good!!

  18. Just watched the prime time news news in Germany`s ZDF (second biggest channel) and they had a report about Cuba and suddenly I noticed I know that guy there..... As a major indicator for the change there they showcased the Dead Daisies performing in Cuba as the first American rock band in eons. Tought that was a pretty cool move...

Any chances for GnR making history there?

If you understand German you can watch it here ( you can go to USA und Cuba):
