  1. Why do people desperately try to find negativity? I just do not get it. The show was awesome and Mr. Rose behaved very professionally - especially considering his history. He started on time, played for 3 hours and some minutes, did not even get mad when a full beer cup came flying his way. Even if he got angry at Frank for a reason, he still behaved professional to the audience and thanked everybody for coming...twice. Also as I wrote in my review I think there was an incident with someone from the crowd before Paradise city that must have made him angry. Things need to be seen in context.

  2. Sometimes one might think that GnR "fans" gotta be the biggest bitches in rock history....

The band is playing 3 hour shows, playing songs from all albums, even showing up on time and people still bitch and complain! I guess these are the same people who throw shit at the band during the concerts.

I guess everybody wants new music, but what is with the "complaining" ?. We did not pay for new music, there is no obligation from anyone to give us new music.

  3. What an awesome show! I have seen GnR so many times now, but it just gets better and better. This band plays their hearts out for 3 hours +! Still completely exhausted! For me it was one of the best concerts ever.

Quireboys: Pretty good and I guess the crowd quite liked them

Crowd: I`d say it was 90% sold out! Crowd was a little "lame" but nonetheless quite greatful! It got a little more empty at the end, perhaps people went to the back to sit down or get drinks, as it was incredibly hot in the arena.

Start: Was really surprised by that. Band actually started a couple of minutes before 9pm very much on time and they played until some minutes past midnight. It was the earliest I have ever seen GnR coming on stage.

Show: Very solid, Axl sounded great, only some minor voice problems in the second part of the set. All in all very good. A huge compliment to the band for playing more than 3 hours in this heat; Axl was still wearing a hat and jacket at all times (presumably to cover up his belly ;) ) Ron in particular seemed to be in a good mood, also Frank. Axl was quite professional, not even throwing a tantrum as a cup came flying towards him. He seemed to be in a good mood, though not very talkative. Also my impression was that he did not need to go to the oxygen tent as often. Also in the end before Paradise City something must have gone wrong (see below)

Setlist: Was already mentioned by Silent Jay! I am not too sure about the order though. Also I remember that Nighttrain was actually the first song of the encore (which was very long!!) It was my first show on the Euro tour and I did not read the forums before, so I was very positively surprised by hearing Estranged, Shacklers Revenge, Civil War, Don`t Cry, Used to love her and Dead Flowers. All in all the setlist it was the best setlist I have seen.

    Some Notes:

-Axl was fooling around with Beta throughout the show. E.g she was also trying to command him where to go on stage (in a funny way) and he pretended jokingly to do be a brat about it.

    - Axl drank some of DJ´s Jager he left on stage

    - A pretty blond girl backstage was trying to take some photos of him. He noticed and made funny faces so she didn`t get a decent shot.

    - Axl complimented on Richard`s outfit

    - He also seemed to gain more energy during the show. Between Dead Flowers and Used to love her, the band wanted a break but he told them "to keep this thing rolling"

    - At some time during the show he and Ron must have seen something interesting during the show! In the middle of the song he was saying " What the Fuck...!?" and moving to the center next to Ron to look at something. Anyone knows what this was about?

    - At the end of the show, I guess it had to be sometime during patience something must have happened on the right side of the stage (view from the audience). He was running back rather furiously and talking to somebody backstage for about 30 seconds. He did not return to the right corner for the rest of the show. Shortly after that his assistent mobbed the floor where he was standing. My guess is he was hit by a cup that some asshole was throwing. Also security cleared that part of the seating area after the incident (nobody should have been sitting there in the first place actually). That may also explains his"fuck" in Paradise City.

Until that incident Axl seemed to be in a good mood, however he took it professionally. Played paradise city and thanked the audience once again after the song ended; he thanked once more after the end of the video posted above, being the sole member on stage. No bow of the whole band though and no microphone throwing. Ron returned after that to take some photos!

    .

We don`t know the reasons for the short sale, who knows what Fortus is spending his money on instead?

  4. I was looking at my official "Chinese Democracy World Tour 2002" T-shirt only yesterday! That actually made me wonder a little bit. Which other band has the same tour for 10 years?????????

Not complaining here, as I always enjoy seing Guns, but I never really thought about that this is actually the same tour for 10 years now! Must be a world record ;)

Are you talking about the name of the tour or the content of the tour? If you are talking about the name: I don't think the European tour is named "Chinese Democracy World Tour", and I know the recent US tour wasn't, so you are wrong. If you are talking about content then you should know that the setlists have changed a lot in the time from 2002 till 2012, so again, you would be wrong. In other words, it is not the same tour.

There is also nothing remarkable in having toured for 10 years with only one new record released in this period. Bands/artists are able do that when they have a product (strong back catalogue and great show) that people are willing to pay money for.

Were there actually names for all the other tours? Except South America Tour XXXX or North America Tour XXXX ?

  6. Well I guess we should appreciate Axl talking and explaining to us - considering the "dark years". And even I do not agree with him not showing up, he has a point on how the Hall makes money.

Now that his whole thing is done, over and buried maybe we can hear some info about a new album?

  7. http://www.nme.com/news/guns-n-roses/63198

Looks like his name is being added whether he likes it or not.

Oh noooooo there will be another lawsuit which will keep Axl busy for years! So no album anytime soon....

While I don´t really care about the induction - it does not change the way I love GnRs music - that whole theater around it is just so childish. Why is it so hard to be in the same room for a couple of minutes and get it over with...And inducting GnR without Axl? What kind of utter bullshit is that?

I am annoyed...not because any reunion dreams were shattered, but by the whole useless drama around it.

Lets hope the best for the euro tour...

  8. oh good lord...just read it in the German tabloids!!

Why is it so hard to jump over your own shadow...Induct GnR without Axl? WTF!??? What is the big problem??

Anyways I am still looking forward to the tour, which is way more important to me!!

  9. haven't seen a single other option that would have fit

    Alice Cooper..

He got the band from the get go.They were mutual fans of each other.GnR opened on an Alice tour.

Alice performed on the Illusions...they mutually recorded a version of Under My Wheels.

Iggy Pop...go watch the video of "Home"...Iggy got it as well.

GnR guys are HUGE Iggy fans.

I am not a GD fan however some of these choices are a little funny to me. HUGE Alice fan right here, again wierd, why? It is 2012 not the 70's anymore, and none of these older bands were influenced by GN'R. Green Day is known by the entire the music industry these days they "get it" in that respect. It actually brings a whole bunch of younger fans in to check out GN'R with the GD fans watching. Green day is eligible in 2 years time, they have been around long enough to be able to do this. I love Cooper, Iggy, Steven Tyler, Elton etc etc etc but they were never influenced by Guns as they preeded them.

If anything this has us talking, something that is good for a discussion forum :)

Only read that now, but this was one of the smartest posts in this topic. I agree it does make a lot of sense to get GnR inducted by a band that is popular today and not some icon from the past. I also don`t understand all the dislike for Green Day. They are an immensly popular band, with a long history, their live shows are awesome and they actually write lyrics with a meaning - as compared to 98% of today´s other shit.

  10. Really? I respect your opinion and you are definitely entitled to it, but I put Green Day on the same pedestal that I put Justin Beiber.

I suspect that they have much of the same fan base.

LOL, how old are you anyway? How old were you when Green Day first started? Just curious since you seem to know nothing about the band's roots.

And by the way, Guns n' Roses is a far more commercial band than Green Day is (if that's what you're trying to get at by the whole Justin Beiber comparison).

Green Day cut their teeth in the Berkely punk scene, just as GNR did in the Sunset Strip scene. Your lack of respect for Green Day just demonstrates your ignorance of the band and music in general.

I agree, I loved Green Day since the early 90s. It is amazing to me how huge they got. Anyone comparing them to the Bieber boy has not idea what he is talking about. I think they are perfect for introducing GnR has they have a lot in common. Both started pretty raw in the club scenes and evolved way more complex over time into arena acts.

  11. Well, there are lot of dickheads here.I watched Bon Jovi last year in Zagreb and Acdc 2008 in Belgrade, for example.Jon didn't have a voice even he didn't sing but Bon Jovi fans were happy with him and didn't bitchin. With acdc is the same situation. We have Axl Rose who has much much better voice than Jon,Brian,Bono and still bichin him.We have Axl Rose who have gave 3 hours shows and still bitchin. What the fuck you stupid dickheads want?

Because Axl's supposed to be on an entirely different level of awesome!

Honestly, it's probably cuz he's the only original member left now, he's the one that decided to pull this band along so people expect him to "bring it". :shrugs:

And there Is no doubt the energy Is there and he does bring It(amazing 3 hour show), but voice wise, I think Brian and Bono both have him beat right now.

Don`t know about Bono, but Axl`s voice for sure is better than Brians. I love AC/DC, and Brian is still great, but at times you really notice his age! Also he gets out of breath pretty fast these days. Nonetheless I will always go to their shows!

  12. I don`t know if Beta or anyone else of the Lebeis clan is a good manager, but Axl seems to trust her. I reckon managing a rock band is a very tough job, considering how much money, legal work and planning is involved. So I reckon that there is currently no "formal" manager position, but I hope they will be smart enough to let professionals do the work in the respective areas (legal, touring, PR). I think that the music industry is a shark pool, so without veteran help you may be dead in the water.

I have nothing but good wishes for Beta as Manager, but having a management phd I have to deal with lawyers and contract work everyday, so I know how tough it is.
