My guess is that Axl might've been a fan of Blake's TV show Baretta. It was a very popular show at the time. The character's tough guy persona could've been appealing or relatable to him. Just a guess.

There's footage of them rehearsing Loco Motive, at least a little bit.  It's out there.

One of the all time greats. It's been a long time since I've seen the Locomotive rehearsal, but didn't Jeff immediately take out his IEM? Maybe I'm wrong.

Well, interesting that you ask, a few hours ago I caught Stars of the Grand Ole Opry on RFD. Man, watching artists like Ernest Tubb, Carl Smith, Kitty Wells, and Ray Price is amazing. It's in brilliant color from the early fifties, great stuff.
