  1. I think an "official" announcement from anyone involved with the GNR reunion at this point would be a extremely terrible idea since it looks like the plans to tour are set of later next year.

If the official word came from any of the members of GNR right now and for some reason it feel apart could you imagine the fall out that person or persons would have to deal with, it would be just terrible even if they were not the reason for the reunion not happening.

We all know all to well in GNR world nothing is concrete until they either take the stage or release new music.

I personally don't for see an announcement until everything is set in stone as far as touring. Also if there is new music to come out to go with the touring that would also have to be completed before anyone says a word.

I just don't see anything coming for at least 1-4 months. As early as 1-2 months if they are doing festivals and 4 months if a summer tour is what will kick off the reunion.

We will be playing the waiting game for at least a month or 2.

I just feel the reunion is a very fragile thing right now and it wouldn't take much at all to derail it at this point.

  2. "IF" there is a reunion CD2 will NEVER see the light of day or any other work during the CD sessions, It's is dead in the water which it may have already been before the reunion talk started. Axl and the label where not on the best of terms.

Another bigger "IF" the reunion lineup puts out a record there maybe a couple of songs from the CD sessions that may make it on the record but they will sound nothing like there current form, they will be stripped down to the sound of the reunion lineup. I could see them reworking a song Axl really likes as can see it being done for songs that Slash and Duff like.

For those that want CD2 in it's planned form from the CD sessions, if it really exists which I really don't think it does in anywhere close to finished material. it ain't going to happen. Sure if it does exists I would like to hear it but I doubt it exists.

  3. One of MTV's biggest costumers at the time told them if they played Guns n Roses they would pull MTV from there channel lineup because he didn't wait to see and promote a bunch of drug heads and heroin addicts.

Imagine if MTV done what this cable company wanted and decided not to do a favor for someone at Geffen and air WTTJ?

If it was never played on that early Sunday morning 99.999% of of GNR's fan base in the late 80's and early 90's and even today would never have discovered one of if not best RNR album ever released AFD let alone the follow up albums not to mention the band it's self and how they went about things with the riots and all the interviews.

GNR would have most likely just faded away like alot of bands back then even though those bands had air play on MTV they just where not super band material and after 2 or 3 albums where gone.

MTV is where I discovered GNR how about you?

  4. Kushner in the back ground, still waiting for that VR reunion...

Damn, he was sounding pretty good! but then on the outro, he stopped singing and went full on scream. He could have sang with more power, no need to go full scream... The last note he sang was very nice...

yeah i don't know what it is with him going full scream i mean back in the day he used to sing with real power and a natural voice lets say now since the 2000's he's all screaming, but actually i can't think of many famous singers who cover Guns N' Roses right, This is one of the few: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx9PJfrhwFI

Not bad not bad at all!

  5. Axl has been an embarrassment since 2011. There were few exceptions where he showed the great singer he once was but that doesn't change the fact that his voice is pretty much gone -- which is understandable considering how old he is. ...

I mostly agree with you, but I think we often put too much weight on Axl's age. Dude's only 53. If he wanted it, he'd have another 10+ years. He's still young, and nowhere near as old as guys that did it before him. Best example is Steven Tyler, but Dan McCafferty of Nazareth was a really apt comparison, too.

Axl could/can still do it, at least I think so. Whether I think he will or not is another matter.

Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly. I'm not saying that Axl's age is an excuse for him to be a complete sad joke on stage. I'm saying that it could be one of the issues. In 2006 and 2010 which are considered his best years since REAL Gn'R broke up, he sounded great, but he didn't sound as good as he sounded in 1993. There's a difference between the voices, which was acceptable considering he aged.

If Axl is truly having vocal issues, fans would understand that. Fans are not obligated to understand why he's all fat, overweight, out of breath on stage, though -- unless they're sad, blind, fanatics.

IMHO Axl sounded better in 2006 after he got a few shows under his belt. The best I have ever heard him sing was in late 87 no a whole lot of rasp but the power was there.

After the 87 show heard is how I rank the shows I attended.

    1. 87 really 87 and 06 is very close to a tie

    2. 06

    3. 88 to much rasp early 88

    4. 91 way to much rasp

    5. 88 way to much rasp late 88

    6. 92 again way to much rasp

I really don't like when he signs with rasp that is heard in every word, but yes rasp has it spots in songs but to hear it for the full song is not really singing it gets to point it is screaming and not singing

  6. VInce has always sucked live!! I seen him twice back in the Motley Crews hay days in the late 80's and early 90's and both times he couldn't sing the words and his vocals just plain sucked.

At the last show I seen them which was the DR. Feelgood tour I on the barrier dead center and about half way through there set I moved all the way to the back of the arena floor because he sucked so bad, I mean it was just terrible and I told myself never again going to a MC concert.

I liked there hits but most of there albums where just full of filler. IMHO there very first album was the best as far as the songs on it but it was not great by no means.

  7. I'm 41 I got into GNR the very first time I seen the WTTJ video. Went to the Record store that weekend and bought AFD on cassette. It was the most bad ass album I had heard and still today that holds true.

In late 87 or early 88 I got to see them open for Alice Cooper I was on the barrier on the right side of the stage and Axl and Izzy walked out and I got both of there autographs on my ticket, side note ticket was destroyed in house fire that I left the grease on the stove and left, forgetting about the grease on the stove and my house was in flames when I got back there.

I seen them a total of 3 times on the AFD tour, twice on UYI, I would have seen them 2 more times but got Mono and was to weak and once CD tour.

  8. Axl comes in 6th on a list of 27stars and basically how badly they have aged.

For the now pic they picked most likely the very worst picture of Axl but I can concede he hasn't aged well but who knows the next time we see him, if we ever do.

    Here is pics of Axl

    desktop-1406691764.png

The one on the Right is just down right embarrassing, but most of us have pics taken that suck but not that bad!!!

Here is a link to the full list...

  9. It would be a really STUPID move for Axl to have a public mini-reunion show before the speculated world tour next year. And Axl ain't (that) stupid...

    Don't think so.

It would be like throwing gas as far as a reunion and talk in the media, forums and social media would just spike!

If there is really a reunion in the works they need all the hype they can get.

  10. Hate to point it out ................well no I don't actually :P but notice it's always guys that throw things?

Does anyone have footage of a female being thrown out for throwing something on stage or for fighting?

You would feel quite vulnerable on stage when things are thrown at you, what is a bottle rocket anyway? :shrugs:

A bottle rocket is a firework that flies through the air then blows up. It is not a powerful firework but could easily start a fire, hit someone in the head and catch there hair or clothes on fire or put an eye out.

A really stupid thing to do at a concert with all those people but I don't understand why someone will buy a ticket to a concert and throw shit at the stage, drunk or not it makes no sense, Clothing or banners are one thing but objects that can really hurt someone is just stupid and should not be tolerated.

    Never seen this until now.

I seen that several months ago.

Axl was just doing the right thing which he has done many times it is just the negative that gets shown so much.

  11. In the first few seconds you hear and see a bottle rocket go off and they leave the stage and come back and Axl tells a story about Lemmy at the donnington show where there was some fans that got crushed to death during GNR set and Lemmy telling he that just after GNRs set Lemmy said this then later they find out about the fans, I can see where Axl would take it heart given what all happened at that show.

I totally agree shit should be thrown at a show of any kind will clothing and things like that are different than bottles and what have you.

  12. Brain

    Frank

    Adler

As for picking Brain first he is a more technical drummer than Frank or Adler also Brain kicked ass live too, he just beat the shit out of the drums and still was very technical by this I mean he hit every fill and played flawlessly.

Frank her has a good sounding groove and still nails most everything he does miss alot of fills though.

Adler Can't take away what he done as far as AFD and he had a good groove but when it comes to the UYI material if he was sober he still couldn't have played the drums good enough to take it to the next level which Matt did but Matts drumming was pretty good on UYI but he had a generic sound if you ask me especially live.

  13. I have no doubt that Axl considers Team Brazil as family. In the airport video where Axl wacks a camera man he says "he hit my mother" and we all know he didn't care much for his mother or step father back in the 80's and 90's.

I feel I band should function as a family also in order to make thing work because most people that have a agreement or fight with family you tend to let it go and move on like it never happened. These people I consider my family get more of the benefit of the doubt than just an ordinary friend.

Family is what you make it to be whether it is blood, adopted, friends or all the above.

  14. I see several people commenting on the crowd was just setting down during the 88 VMA performance but,,,,,, That is how the VMA's where back then you had all the A listers up front and the fans in the back. That is why you see no one standing,

Now the VMA's have a section of fans at the front so the performance has a real feel of a live performance. But who really gives a live performance on the VMA's it is all lip syncing for the most part and people that are critical of the 2002 VMA's at least they done the performance live and not recorded.

  15. Axl has talked about this in an MTV interview and he said he was encouraged to the rant about media people by none other than Duff and Slash.

Axl went on to say when GITR was put out on the UYI albums and he stared getting heat for it everyone else in the band stepped away and let him take all the heat.

Yes Axl did say this but is it true I don't know.

As far as what fucked GNR was in the end GNR not the media. Two huge egos being Axl and Slash in the same band will do one of two things work together and make great music or implode and implode is exactly what happened. Slash and Axl both are to blame for that not just the popular choice of saying Axl was the one who broke GNR up. When Izzy left the band the voice of reason between Axl and Slash was gone and they couldn't make it work, it is not Izzy fault he done what he felt he had to do but neither Axl or Slash stepped up to make it work.

  16. I seen both Moltey and GNR back in the 80's 90's and caught both of them once in the 2010's.

GNR was light years better than Motley Crue in the 80's and 90's and GNR is still so much better live in the 2010's.

Even with Axls vocal trouble in 13 and 14 he is far better live, at least he can sing every word Vinces vocals live have always sucked!!!! He can't sing a full sentence from the song much less sing it anywhere near like the album..

I remember seeing MC on the Dr. Feelgood tour, Lita Ford opened and I was the 5th person from the rail dead center and when MC came on I was dead center on the rail and at around 30 min mark I went all the way to the back of the floor cause it was a train wreck as far as vince goes.

Motley crue played 1.5 hours that night and never played a show I went to for more than 1 hr 50 mins.

GNR from the UYI tours all the way up to now, you are still getting 2.5 hours - 3.25 hours every time they go out unless Axl gets pissed, but really even with Axl really struggling with his voice he doesn't cut the show short he gives it his all.

So from what I have seen live GNR wins easily.

This isn't about production as far as album releases this is about a live show!!

Axl didn't really struggle with his voice until the last what 3 years, vince struggled his whole career, I know Axl had the Mickey mouse vocals from what 2000-2002 but if you listen to him in the early days he sang naturally high pitched and the rasp only came with longer touring, so in 00-02 his voice was well rested and he didn't push the rasp but in 2006 he had a combo of rasp and used his natural singing tone which IMHO is the best he has ever sounded.
