  1. Mike, some of us like musicians because they make music we enjoy. As crazy as it sounds, our enjoyment of the music is more important to us than whether some stranger thinks they are "cool."

At no point in my comment did I say one word about his music, I also like a couple of his songs. I just cant stand him. I haveseen him on that metal show three times I believe and everytime he comes off as an arrogant asshole. By comparison axl seems soft spoken. Like him all you want, but way to get offended because someone else doesnt.

And back to the op, this just helps confirm how I already feel about him. He is late to his shows then blames it on zombie and makes it known publically? Go a head, defend these actions.

  2. You know, as much as I disliked this version of gnr, they did feel more like a real band because they were writting music. I prefer the current band because it feels more like guns n' roses, but they really need to do something as a band. Otherwise the "haters" have won. But the current band puts on a much better show, I have seen all versions of newgnr and the current band is by far the best live. I just hope Axl isn't going to let this talent go to waste.

  3. I just watched the whole concert and a few thoughts came to mind. I saw this version of the band in Detroit (the show where Axl walks off stage during Patience) so I feel my opinion is very revelant to this situation.

    1. Axl should never have let them tour the US. We were not ready for a new guns n' roses, we wanted the old band. So it was doomed for failer. They should have toured overeas untill CD came out. Which should have been sometime around 2002-2004.

    2. The band as a whole did sound pretty good. My only knock is Robin. He should not of been allowed to do any of the classic solos, he just can't pull off slash's solos very well. Should of let Bucket do them.

    3. To all you Axl haters, the Mickey Mouse voice started here!!! If anything he tries to bring in more rasp now then he did then.

    4. This really is the band that wrote CD, so they should have been the band to bring it to the world, things may have turned out very differently.

    5. The freak imagine that Axl was going for with this band did not help matters at all. Buckethead was the only freak they needed, but he is at least really good. Axl should have went with more of a "rock" look and Robin WTF????

  4. Don't you guys ever get tired of saying the same shit everyday? If you don't like the new band that's fine, but why do you have to talk shit daily about them? I can understand every now and then, but seriously some of you say the same shit day after day. We get it!!!! Get some new material, shit!!!!

  5. WTF are you talking about? I can't understand your incoherant ramblings.

Oh Mike ! Green Day rules for you, it's all good, Mike !

Oh Bionic ! We all know you are a closet Nickelback fan!!!

2 can play this game buddy.

But in all seriousness, I don't care for Yesterdays much, never have. If you are trying to cupcake me, it won't work. But you may try if you like.

  6. I will bet a thousand peso's , Yesterdays will be played.

    Speaking of turds....

One of the worst songs on UYI2

and the old band did play that a time or two.

I hope that they never play If the World live again. If I was Axl, I would be far more ashamed of that turd than My World.

Shame on you, Smoothy. The lyrics are forgetable but there's plenty of good stuff instrumentally in ITW.

Bucket's solo on that is the best solo on the whole album IMO. It ranks up there with anything slash ever did. And I am no Buckethead fanboy, but that solo fucking kicks!!!

  7. As far as the new songs for the acoustic gig I am betting on either a Zeppelin song or a Queen song or maybe both. I doubt they will do a completly new song acousticly, unless it is meant to be acoustic. Unless DJ doesn't know his gnr history, they have played every acoustic song they ever wrote at least once. Including One in a million and You ain't the first.

What about if the world? Have they ever played that live? That could be a possability.

  8. I really think that the "couple songs the band never played" hes talking about Locomotive and Coma....

Not acousticlly, he was talking about the bridge benifit. Maybe at the vegas shows, but I highly doubt thye will do either of these songs acoustically.

  9. I don't mind the CD album cover but it is nowhere near my fav. It reminds me of the Zeppelin 4 album cover, the old dude with the sticks. That cover also is just average imo. Which when I compare the Zeppelin 4 cover with zeppelin I- In through the out door, Zeppelin 4 is clearly the worst. Which is funny since it is considered their best album (not my fav) but you get what I mean. When I think of gnr's albums, only appetite is the really good cover. Which is funny since it was the second choice, and honestly the cross is way better than the robot cover. But honestly other than Appetite all of guns album covers are pretty weak overall. I would say lies is probably second best. So if we ever get another album I hope they try a little harder, because for a band of their status, weak album covers.

  10. I shouldn't really share this, but MSL also sent me a song called "The Feast", it's not one we've heard talk about before - it's a real rocker. Really, really good lyrics. Please don't PM me for the song, I wont share it, get in touch with MSL if you want it, maybe he's share it with you.

    THE FEAST

Love isn't a game of chance

A failed romance, won't be all you have

You'll pay the price or even more

I can't pretend I've not thought about you at all

    Oh, oh, oh, oooooh

    Demons and Priests

    Badgers and Geese

All come to the church for the feast

Life can destroy you in a blink of an eye

love can do more, watch it try

in all these years I've never been alone

Until now, throwing my dog a bone

    Oh, oh, oh, oooooh

    Demons and Priests

    Badgers and Geese

All come to the church for the feast

I've been searching, searching for a clue

I've been alone, until I found you

Pump it up or let it down

You won't be able to turn my frown upside down.

    Oh, oh, oh, oooooh

    Demons and Priests

    Badgers and Geese

All come to the church for the feast.

    Guns N Roses ASCAP 2012

Wow I am really jealous of these!!!

How would you rank them compared to the rest of CD?

  11. @ Moreblack,

What EVH did was not "gimmick" and to say it was shows your ignorance when it comes to guitar players. All the guys you mentioned were completly influenced by EVH, and they all admited to it also. Including the late great Randy Rhoades. Nobody can play that style of guitar playing quite like Eddie. Is Vai and others more technically profficiant? Probably, but they don't have his feel. He used tapping and other techniques as a way to take a solo to places it had never been before. If you don't like him or van halen's music in general, that's fine. But discount his influence and abilities is just plain dumb. Sorry but it's true.

  12. Van Halen clones can run circles around Ron based solely on technique? Interesting, considering Eddie Van Allicandoistap himself couldn't.

I don't mind the bashing of clones, but to bash EVH is just plain ignorant.

  13. I pick Slash and GnR basically made Led Zeppelin sound old and that saying it lightly. I like Page, his stuff is cool but didn't he like stole most of his stuff? I believe that the first 5 albums are stolen but whatever. I prefer Slash simply because he sounds better, writes better riffs, solos, etc.

I don't think Page had much impact on Slash as much as the bands in the mid-late 70s did.

    @ Dalsh

You guys are too funny. Jimmy Page was the KING of 70's guitar players, so you just contradicted yourself but whatever.

    @ Mexzilla

I hate it when people say "Page stole all of his stuff" because that is not completly true. Did he "borrow" things here and there, yes. But that's what all the old blues guys did. Muddy Waters stole from Elmore James, Elmore James stole from John Lee Hooker, and Hooker stole from Robert Johnson. And Johnson probably stole from people also, but we have no true record of that. I have a recording of either John Lee Hooker or Elmore James singing sweet home Chicago, and they claim it as an original song. But Robert Johnson did that song 15 years or so earlier. And just because Johnson did it first doesn't mean he wrote it. And besides the fact they all do the songs a little differently.

But back to Jimmy Page, I would say somewhere around 90% of all of Zeppelin's music that he wrote was completly original. Mostly lyrics are borrowed from older songs, so that is more Robert Plant's doing than Page. And take the song Traveling riverside blues, Zeppelin's version is way different than Johnson's original. Page rewrote most of the music to that song, so in essence it is just as much his song as Johnson's.

Don't take my word for it, hear it for yourself Johnson's version

    Zeppelin's

Oh and one more thing, Jimmy Page played the guitar in so many different tunings. He was really the first "rock" player to do that. Slash plays everyting in E or Eb, maybe the occasional drop D. Nothing close to the types of tunings that Page did.
