Listened twice so far. It's a little less in your face than RTJ2, which I'm fine with. Some of the production reminds me a lot of El's solo stuff, which I love. Definitely need to spend some more time with it, but early returns are great. The surprise guest on Kill Your Masters killed it, no pun intended.
A Christmas Fucking Miracle, indeed.

Phoebe Pearl is the Rockette speaking out about performing at Trump's inauguration. That's probably what he meant.

Love that guy. Hell of a songwriter. I hated when he left Drive-by Truckers. I don't like anything they've done after him.
Funny thing is, I really only know Isbell's solo stuff. What Drive-by Truckers album would you recommend?

Some great stuff in this thread. Since Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson have been covered, thought I'd throw another name in here for newer stuff that I dig:

Yesterday I finally listened to UGK's Ridin' Dirty for the first time. God damn, that took me too long.

How long are you gonna be in Boston? The Throwdown starts on the 28th this year. But yeah, I'd be down to meet up even if you don't go to one of the shows.
Honestly, I got no idea. Whenever I'm up in New England I always play it by ear in terms of being in Boston/Maine. But I figure at the very least, I'll be around during the day on the 29th. I'll let you know for sure.

DO ITTT. We need to finally meet up, and St. Patty's Day in Boston at a Dripkicks show sounds like a good way to do it. Plus the opening band, The Interrupters, are dope.
Unless of course you're going to the Throwdown this year
I probably won't know if I can do the Murphys shows until at least January or so, but I'm actually going to be in Boston the week of the Throwdown for a Kanye show at the Garden on the 28th. I'll hit you up.

3/17 - Dropkick Murphys (Boston)
3/18 - Dropkick Murphys (Boston)An ATL date was apparently too much to ask for this tour, so I might come up for some of these shows.
As of now, all I have for 2017 is Run The Jewels in Atlanta on 1/21. I also have Bonnaroo penciled in for June, provided I don't hate the lineup.

So the beginning of fall has been ridiculous. Starting with the first week in October, I have seen and will be seeing:
10/1 - Run the Jewels/Mastodon/NOFX (Project Pabst festival in ATL)
10/4 - Prophets of Rage
10/8 - Kanye West
10/22 - Griz
10/27 - Danny Brown
10/29 - Big Gigantic
11/2 - Phantogram
11/7 - FIDLAR
11/12-11/13 - Camp Flog Gnaw festival (in LA, a bunch of rap acts I'm pumped to see)
2016 has easily been the best concert year of my life.

I'm not a huge fan of Danny Brown, his voice bothers me.
Earl and Kendrick are some of my favourite rappers though!
He uses a more normal-sounding voice in a fair amount of songs. Check out Side A, The Return, XXX, and Fields for a start. Tell Me What I Don't Know on the new one is also a good example.
On topic, Really Doe one of my favorite songs on what might be my favorite rap album of the year when all is said and done. No one else is doing it like Danny is. Seeing him in ATL in a few weeks and can't wait.

Yeah shoutout to Clutch. Saw them at Bonnaroo this summer and the tent was barely half full - they still brought it.

I actually loved being in an arena after the two Guns shows (and the last AC/DC show, for that matter) I saw being in stadiums. Lucked out super hard with the tickets we scored, 6th row in the lower bowl just past the catwalk on Cliff's side.
I avoided watching too many videos so I'd basically hear most of these songs fresh with Axl singing, and I'm pretty glad I did. I remember specifically during the scream after the solo in If You Want Blood that Axl sounded damn near identical to Bon. Incredible. It's just awesome to see how much Axl has redeemed himself this year, and if that was the last time I ever get to see AC/DC, what a way to go out.

Yes, they definitely played For Those About To Rock.
Great night. I had a big fuckin smile on my face pretty much the entire time. It's absolutely amazing how great Axl sounds. Highlights for me were Shoot To Thrill, Back In Black and Riff Raff off the top of my head.

The lesson, as always: hold out for tickets. I got lower bowl for under face value today. It's lit. Turn up. Whatever the fuck the kids are saying these days.

Has there been any other time Axl went up an octave on the first verse of Nightrain like he did for the Tokyo 09 show? That deserves an honorable mention for those vocals alone.

This is off the top of my head in no order. Good thread - I bet people will have a lot of different responses.
Sir Psycho Sexy
Wet Sand
Breaking The Girl
Give It Away
Hard To Concentrate
Purple Stain
Venice Queen
Don't Forget Me
Around the World
Parallel Universe
Honorable mentions with a nod to the old school: Road Trippin', Monarchy of Roses, So Much I, Me and My Friends, Green Heaven, Buckle Down

My really snarky post aside, tonight was great. Axl sounded pretty damn good (I especially noticed him nailing OTGM and the Rocket Queen outro) and it was clear that the band is coming together as a unit more every show having seen them 2 and a half weeks ago in Nashville.
As for the setlist and lack of changes, my take is this: you're free to feel however you want, but ultimately the shows are played for those in attendance. If you're a person who cares enough to go to multiple shows on a tour, that PROBABLY means you also care enough to check setlists, meaning that (for GNR at least) you know there won't be that much variation, especially if you're been following them (shows, setlists, whatever) for tours before this one. With that, you're probably going into the show knowing what the deal is. So why expect anything else? If there's something new/changed, great. If not, it is far away from the end of the world as some on here would have you believe.

Damn, I just got back from the show. Sorry to find out that I saw an incredibly disappointing and boring set. What a shame.

Yo. If you're down at the show already and can pick me up a litho, I will buy you a beer when I get down there (and obviously pay you for the litho as well). I'm not gonna be able to make it for a while with work and would love to have one.
PM me, respond to this, whatever.

Yeah, Nashville was arguably the coolest of the tour given the history of Hatch Show Print. Pretty happy I was able to pick one of those up.

You've seen he's dropping an El-P produced solo record next year, right?
