I do think to an extent it's just a Spotify thing because a big deal was made of Joe Rogan signing on to bring his podcast and thus his large fanbase to the platform. I guess I just don't see the connection from Neil Young saying he doesn't want to be a part of a club with Joe Rogan as a member to Joe Rogan's free speech rights being threatened because in no way, shape, or form is he being forbidden from saying what he wants to say.

How is it not a free speech issue?
Downzy covered it mostly but if Joe Biden or whoever said, you know, I agree with Neil! Spotify, you're shut down until Joe Rogan is off the platform or hey Joe Rogan, you're banned from all hosting services, then we're talking freedom of speech.
There's no rule saying that Joe Rogan must be allowed on Spotify

this is absolutely nowhere near a free speech issue

Oh yeah, shoutout to The Sword too via @Stay.Of.Execution's playlist. Saw them open for Primus over the summer and really enjoyed their set.

Sleep and All Them Witches are phenomenal. Think Sleep is the loudest show I've ever seen.
Few others I'd recommend in that vein are OM (Sleep singer/bassist side project), Earthless, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, and Thou.

Eminem got shit at the end of the 90s and early 2000s for his lyrics so way to generalize. Doesn't excuse anything Guns N ' Roses did but rap and hip hop pushed the line way further in the 90s-early 2000s. I say this as a fan of that genre who finds a lot of that era hard to go back to because of the lyrical content.
fair! mad people hate on rap here (which sometimes seems to be a mask for some other sentiments) so i'm used to having my guard up

I'm not doing any Maiden gigs. I have my reasons and I'll leave it at that.
Sorry to hear that man. Hope everything is good.

Floor tickets locked in for Newark, hell yeah brother!! Never seen Maiden in an arena, or from anywhere other than a shed lawn. Mad pumped for this.

i've only listened once through but i definitely liked it - time machine, parchment, and hell on earth stood out most. obviously an album that will reward repeated listens so i have some more ahead of me.

To be honest a lot of those bands you mention are incredibly boring to me- especially the first couple! I've never been so bored by bands as those two over-hyped acts!
You're totally right though- there's so much out there, for all tastes.
If I dish it out I gotta take it! I'll give you that IDLES' last album wasn't great, but agree to disagree on the others.

shame, IDLES, Fontaines D.C., Post Animal, Kikagaku Moyu, Black Midi, Thee Oh Sees, Pond, Pottery, King Gizzard - most of the innovative and exciting new rock these days is in the post-punk or psych space. Pretty much every band that is hailed as the new rock-n-roll saviors are mad boring to me.

AMOLAD and Final Frontier covers were tight but I see the point about back to back albums with the black background. So be it. I'm mad pumped about this.
@Powerage5 - you think there's any chance at all they convert the 2022 dates to Senjutsu shows, or finish those out and then do a totally separate tour in late 2022 or '23?

I've never intended to drink it based on everything I've heard about it lol. I just want to find one bottle for my music room.
I think it's totally out of production. The idiots (myself included) who I used to drink it with every now and then with in college have looked on and off over the last few years for nostalgia purposes and no dice.
