Yeah the lack of new music really vacuums a lot of fun out of this year’s touring plans for me too.
“This years touring plans” is a weird way to say “GNR” but alright.

So is this still the “We’re F’n Back!” Tour or is this NITL II: electric boogaloo?
-
Wow, just wow. What a mess this band is. My sympathies to anyone that ordered already.

I’d be pretty excited for it if it was a regularly released live album at a reasonable price. I was even considering it for the 50$ package but 89$ is ridiculous.

Yes, it was in early 2001. According to Marc Canter, one of the three songs was Fall To Pieces (or, rather, the sketch that ended up becoming FTP):

So are you saying that the demo of what would become FTP was worked on during the CD sessions as well?

1. Shadow of your Love
2. It’s So Easy
3. Move to the City (1988 Acoustic)
4. Nightrain
5. Garden of Eden
6. The Garden
7. Dead Horse
8. Pretty Tied Up

10. Hair of the Dog
11. Oh My God
12. Chinese Democracy
13. Better
14. Hard SchoolI tried to keep it in the spirit of the original and only include “hits” so all the songs besides Hard School are all charting singles or had a music video made for them.

Honestly I think another leak will happen before new music gets released. Not that I think a leak is imminent just seems more likely at this point.
-
Working on a new album could also mean they decided to abandon the Single idea & the band is overdubbing more CD II songs for a whole album. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’re working on new stuff.
-
Sean Beaven could be just speculating about a new album but it’s also possible he was contacted about songs he was involved in like Josh Freese did for HS

Not a big Godsmack fan, but I just read an article about how they’re next album is gonna b they’re last one & that they’re just gonna do greatest hits tours from here on out. A lot of stuff about how tired they are of the constant cycle of releasing music & how freeing it is to not be stuck in that anymore. Would love if GNR could muster that type of honesty. Would probably give a lot of their fans some sense of peace.

I may sound like a broken record at this point (who doesn’t in this thread lol) but an EP with the 4 new tracks & then 4 live covers from NITL would be great.
I was just listening to VR this morning, reminded me of 2007-08 when Libertad & CD came out like a year & a half apart. What a time to be a GNR fan.

Is the Tokyo version of Civil War from the Japanese Super Deluxe available anywhere to listen to?

I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again. OMG should not be released as a single by the new band. They already got torn up for HS & Absurd being old songs, they’ll never hear the end of it if they just re-release OMG.

I know you are joking….but I’d genuinely love a TSI deluxe set. 🤣
Honestly same. Hopefully that’s what they’re saving all the demos from the UYI sessions for.

Look on the bright side guys, we got the TSI deluxe edition to look forward to in 2024

So with the SW mixes & the unreleased live tracks that’s 119 tracks prepared for the box set that remain unreleased. Hope we see some of it someday.

So is the Live Era Dust N’ Bones a combination of the Wembley & Ritz versions? I’ve only listened to the Ritz so far but that version is way different vocally.

So do the songs on Live Era have the same overdubs or are they the original tracks?
-
Pretty ridiculous they’re releasing an 6 CD reissue of one of their albums without the original version of the album’s biggest hit included.

I got all excited for bonus tracks just for them to be previously released stuff. Classic GNR.

Supposedly there's a whole album in the can with Corey Taylor on vocals, if I remember right
A whole albums worth of demos with Josh Todd & Keith Nielsen from Buckcherry from the early days as well. Not to mention all the outtakes with Scott that are unreleased including This House Is Alive which was recorded for the Monster House soundtrack. I would like be a VR box set with all this stuff but it will probably never happen. Instead we’ll get stuff like this. Wouldn’t even be surprised if some other unreleased songs ended up on a GNR release someday.
-
Bummer to get a VR b-side where the vocals do nothing for me. Probably a good thing they ended the project when they did cuz we could have got a whole album like this.
-
The Live era songs on the UYI box set are listed as previously released, which makes me worried that they’re gonna include the overdubs on them.

I don’t think Slash would make the new album comment if Axl hadn’t expressed at least some consideration of doing one. Chances maybe low but not off the table
Sounds like what DJ Ashba said for years to me.
