  1. Axl sang happy birthday to a bald guy from the staff. Didn't catch the name of the guy, but I don' think it was Del. TIL playing now.

It was McBob, Bumblefoot's Guitar Tech, and ironically also Duff Mckagan's Bass tech, I believe he has been since the early 90's

    Good info

  2. Really don't blame Axl for walking off the other night I dont think he should have to take being booed and having stuff thrown at him from his so called fans.He has to take so much criticism from the media and doesnt need if from his fans. I really didnt mind waiting around the other night after all I had waited 4 years since I seen him the last time and 14 years before that! As a small country we are really lucky that any bands bother to stop by to play a lot of bands who toured Europe this year bypassed Ireland. We have small venues that dont hold many fans gnr could just as easy played another large venue in the Uk or Italy and made more money out of it without having to pay to transport themselves, their equipment and whatever staff they have to our little country. Most bands who play here come for the welcome that they receive as we have always been known for our welcome where was that Wednesday night, I really hope guns n roses come back to play here again and we havent turned them off our country. Dj Ashba had on his facebook page that he was looking forward to playing Dublin and he really gave it his all he was amazing some impression he got of our country! I met some really cool people up the front who were so delighted when the band came back on and who really enjoying the show. So please can we put an end to the whinging and just say thanks for coming back on and when you continue to criticise him saying that he was selfish for walking off did any of you booers or bottle throwers give any consideration to the fans who just wanted to see the show no he did ask you all to stop selfish moany bastards shut your whingy mouths!! love you axl love the current line up dj ashba is a brilliant addition to the line up hope the rest of your tour is more plesant and that you will come back to see us again!

Good to hear your opinion

  3. Aw damnit!

What are u people gonna bitch about now?

I mean its pretty hard to make BS out of that.

How can it be 'dangerous' and 'frightening' when three plastic cups were thrown on stage?!

It may start with bottles and cups. But if people are happy to throw shit, whats to stop them throwing more dangerous things like rocks, stones, e.t.c?

That said, if a cup/bottle full of water is thrown and hits a guitar, amplifier, pyro, basically something electric or dangerous, the situation could get dangerous from objects seemigly as small/harmless as those.

No matter how late they are, theres no excuse for throwing shit at the band, or any band frankly. If you're not happy, then leave. Better still, don't go in the first place, especially if you know GN'Rs reputation granted not everyone does)

I agree with everyone that things should not have been thrown. I think Axl is amazing and just wanted to see a great show.

However saying that the atmosphere was so dangerous that the band couldn't go on was not true.

In this video you can see that the atmosphere was really bad towards the band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUMakD4tgow

  4. How can it be 'dangerous' and 'frightening' when three plastic cups were thrown on stage?!

None of which directly hit any band member.

You can see the bad atmosphere in the videos of the show (objects in the air, people booing the band). Dizzy said that one of the bottles (at Dublin) missed him only inches. The whole situation was dangerous. As someone said people were so drunk that they didn't know what they did. It could have ended in a riot.

  5. Yes I have heard him many times now... The assholes that videoed this shouting "Fuck You" etc during DJs intro to WTTJ are more examples of the crowd that let us down :(

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Axl is 100% to blame, I think everyone is somewhat responsbile for the chain of events that went down, but he could of handled things better - he was after all the Lead Man in the Arena!!!

Very bad start. People booing, saying ¨fuck you¨, throwing things. A disaster. Did they really want to see this band?

  6. I was there.

No one that I hear was chanting for slash.

Two, maybe three bottles were thrown on stage in a 22 minute period; no bottles were thrown after Axl came back on.

In some reviews, fans said that the crowd was chanting for slash.

3 bottles in 22 minutes?? I think you should have waited more

  7. The rest of the band are fab, they sounded really good. Pity Axl was the weak link.

I've seen the videos. You can see an angry Axl. Hehe. Next time, don't throw so much bottles. Just one... :rofl-lol:

I nearly decked the guy in front who threw the walk-off causing bottle.

Poor Chris. What a moment! :(

  8. Well, if everyone knows that throwing things can cause a cancellation of the concert from what happened in Dublin, you'd think they were learn not to be so stupid. The people who do it, know it could wreck it for everyone but do it anyway. So people in the crowd have to stop the guy to protect their own show. Do you think those idiots won't throw things if the band shows up on time? Of course not, because they're idiots regardless.

    I share the same opinion.

We know that if you throw something, the show can be cancelled. Many people of the crowd were so drunk that didn't care, and these people want refunds now? hahaha.

Two people threw the bottles that stopped the show spoiling the entire gig for the other 13,998 fans that were there. You can't expect somebody who is watching the stage to be looking out for someone who may or may not be about to throw a bottle. What you two just posted is illogical.

I’ve been in shows where people were throwing things. If they’re just a couple of guys, the rest tell them to stop it. It seems in Dublin, most of the fans were throwing bottles some empty and others filled with something. Unfortunately, most of the crowd didn’t want the show, they wanted slash. I feel sorry for those who wanted to hear the band, but it wasn’t the desire of most of the people there. One thing is one bottle or maybe two... :tongue2: but this wasn't the case. The crowd kept throwing things.

  10. What is funny is that the press generally gives negative reviews of GNR shows. It’s weird to find a journalist who criticizes the band as regards music, not as regards the absence of Slash. One clear and recent example was Belfast show. The crowd loved the show, there was no problem, everything was ok, but the telegraph gave a completely different view of the show. They gave GNR two stars and bashed the band and Axl throughout the article. In Dublin, yeah, things went wrong with crowd and Axl. But what’s the difference? If GNR make a good show or not, it’s the same for the press :shrugs:

  11. shame...everyone needs a hug sometimes :( probably even axl.

I dream of the day day when Axl, st louis, the reading promoters, the irish, the slashites and axlites all get together on a sunny green hill, have a nice cup of tea and a biccy and just let all the tensions go and let by gones be by gones. Then we will all spoon each other until the power of our love takes us to axl's acre on the moon, where we spend the rest of our lives in harmony.

    Sure

    ... Nah, impossible, hahaha
