Bavaria in "90% quarantine" (whatever that may be) next 2 weeks

Same as here I think, everything closed except the crucial stuff like supermarkets.

Edit: And our coffeeshops of course  every day I see a lot of Belgians, French, Polish and Germans waiting in line to get some weed.

Australia so fucked. Most of Sydney operating as usual and we just let a 2000+ passengers disembark from a cruise ship before getting the results of handful of people showing symptoms. Turns out they were positive. 🤦‍♀️ Cinemas, bars, cafes, restaurants still trading. Malls open.

Australia just got rid of their wildfires, this is nothing to them.

Apparently it is true. I posted about it a while back.

From what I read, whenever there are times of unrest or anxiety Americans buy more guns. On some level I suppose that's only natural. I would think we would see the same effect elsewhere, too, only less pronounced. The thing with Americans, of course, is that they have a gun culture over there and they live in fear of riots and governments. The idea that they might need a gun to protect their family or to bring down the Man, is strong in them. So whenever the world seems to be a bit askew, they run for their guns.

Of course I am only talking about some Americans now, most of them aren't stockpiling rifles, but all of them live in a society of fear and with strong traditions of guns for the use against humans.

Honestly, I think they watch too much TV and read too little news. They seem to always expect that violence is imminent. Immigrants from Mexico? Soon there will be open warfare in the streets between Latinos and Whites. Pandemic? Soon we will be standing in small groups fighting off hordes of zombies. Just fucked up.

Well they could always try to shoot the virus off their properties, their president wanted to nuke hurricanes so why not.

    Hehe.

Just a side note, the bubonic plague isn't that deadly any more - I would actually have expected them to survive but I suppose them might have been far away from doctors. It can be easily treated with antibiotics. Btw, my wife took her PhD on Yersinia pestis, the causative agent of the bubonic plague, and has experience form working in labs with Ebola and AIDS.

I believe they lived pretty secluded, eating the groundhog had a religious purpose if I recall.

You masquerade it as a joke, of course, but it is an argument I have heard before from the far right and other morally stunted people, that the Chinese are culpable and should be held responsible, and consistently referring to the virus as "the Wuhan virus" and the "Chinese virus".

Why are people always looking for a scapegoat, that's ridiculous.

People should be glad China acted the way they did with this. There are 1.4 billion over there, this outbreak could've been so much worse over there.

Is that how it started then?  I heard something about bats and that.

Last year a Mongolian couple ate a raw groundhog and ended up with the bubonic plague. So the bat story behind this virus sounds legit to me

    They died of course.

    great

i am asking because this has everything to do with the matter we are discussing

have you ever heard anything about voodoo brew, voodoo stew and voodoo residue

No I hadn't, had to look it up. But I'd love something like this by GN'R. The Locked & Loaded boxset was basically a polished up version of AFD, Lies and a bunch of stuff most of us already had/heard.

I'm starting to see the benefit of why people were hoarding earlier.

And the downside is that the foodbank is out of food, where they normally get gifts from supermarkets they now get nothing because of said hoarders.

People who actually have to rely on a foodbank get nothing, things like this piss me off to no extent.

Also, if it's true that Trumps office tried to buy out a German business to get exclusivity over a future vaccin then I join whoever it was that said that Trump should get the virus, fuck Trump and fuck that "America first" bullshit.

Bunch of misfit British, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Dutch settlers is what they are.

  9. Well our "coffeeshops" are open again  They're allowed to sell their weed, but you're not allowed to sit down and get a drink.

Apparently they're affraid that streetdealers would use this lockdown to make big money.

This was in my paper (De Standaard) today:

It goes on saying that about half of the Chinese patients were young too.

Oh wow that is some really misleading journalism to be honest. We've had 0 indication here ourselves that the majority of people that are hospitalised are younger than 70. I think we'd be the first to know

  11. 3 hours ago, action said:

I don't know where they got their information, but the majority of people on IC in the Netherlands are around 70 years old.

    "68 patiënten op intensive care
Op dit moment liggen er 68 patiënten met het coronavirus op de intensive care. Ze zijn opgenomen op 27 verschillende intensive-care-afdelingen in Nederland, meldt de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Intensive Care. De meerderheid van hen is rond de 70 jaar, maar er liggen ook jongere patiënten tussen."

  12. I know I sound ignorant, but I still can't be bothered with all this.

There's 7.5 billion people on this planet, this was bound to happen eventually. People don't like me for seeing the bigger picture in situations like these. But all I can see is an overpopulated planet trying to keep itself alive until they're 90-100 years old. People who would've died a few hundred years ago now get to live for another 20-40 years thanks to modern medicine. This entire group is at risk if something like this happens.

Hospitals weren't built or meant to house all the elderly, let alone the entire population, at the same time. I also firmly believe that if things like the plague never happened we wouldn't even be here today. Or it would be complete mayhem and even more would die.

Also want to say that I don't want to offend anyone or wish for others to die. It's terrible and incredibly sad, but this was bound to happen imho.

Never thought I'd quote Jeff Golblum. But "life, uh, finds a way".

If UMG is involved with the box then it'll be full of unnecessary junk like LnL. Hopefully for UYI the band insists on including more unreleased songs and demos.

I'd happily pay for some good UYI era liveshows, but I don't see them doing that.

Honestly, I think we heard most of the unreleased demo's and songs from that era already.

Italy likely to be over 2000 deaths by the end of the day. 3500 new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours. I wouldn’t be surprised if more people die of COVID-19 by Friday than the total number of deaths in China.

Seeing as Italy has been struggling with an ageing population for years, I'm affraid you're right.
