  1. This track was recorded around 1990 or so, during the UYI sessions but ultimately rejected:

Correction, Bring it back home is not from the UYI sessions. It was recorded during the Appetite sessions. First time i've heard this was in 1989 when i got a cassette (from a friend) with all kinds of G N' R demo's (Crash diet, Just another sunday, Back off bitch, Don't cry, Yesterdays, The Garden, Welcome to the jungle...) Do a small test. Search for demo's from the UYI sessions and compare them with this.

Correction! They are Pre-Appetite Demos With Del james and others on guitars. There is no way this is Slash, and they wouldn't have needed a drum machine. (can't remember where ) but I read Axl was asked why wasn't Crash Diet included included on a CD and he said something like... it seemed those songs were all about Del james and others more than GN'R. So, It's not Slash on those demos. I believe it's Del and others recorded back in the Hell House days.

Old G N' R already existed during the Hell House days.

    June 6th, 1985 - The GN'R lineup of:

    W. Axl Rose (vocals)

    Slash (lead guitars)

    Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitar)

    Duff McKagan (bass)

    Steven Adler (drums)

plays at the Troubadour in Hollywood, CA."A Rock N Roll Bash Where Everyones Smashed"

Duff had some connections in Seattle and booked gigs for the band. Tracii was replaced by Slash since he didn't show up for rehearsal.

    Late 1985:

Guns N' Roses played LA clubs like the Whiskey A Go-Go, the Roxy, the Water Club, the Troubadour and Scream. The sets used to begin with an intro tape of "What's That Noise" by the Stormtroopers Of Death. GN'R played early versions of original songs like "Welcome To The Jungle", "Reckless Life", "It's So Easy" and "Don't Cry". By the end of 1985 the band had already written fourteen original songs.

The band had to play covers to keep the club audiences happy. They played songs by Aerosmith ("Mama Kin"), Elvis Presley ("Heartbreak Hotel") and The Rolling Stones ("Jumping Jack Flash").

June 8th, 1985 - GN'R plays in Seattle with The Fastbacks.

This is from Clark Humphrey's book "Loser The Real Seattle Music Story":

Fastbacks-Silly Killers-Vains-Fartz-10 Minute Warning vet Duff McKagan returned from L.A. to perform one show at the Omni Room. It was the first show on the first tour by his new band, first called Hollywood Rose but by then known as Guns n' Roses (the Fastbacks opened). The band hitchhiked part of the way when its van broke down on Interstate 5; the guys only received $50 of their promised $250 fee for a gig only 13 people saw.

GN'R rehearsed for a couple of days and started The Hell Tour. The trip to Seattle wasn't a success. After driving 100 miles their car broke down. They had to hitchhike and when they arrived in Seattle no one cared about them. Most of the shows had been cancelled and they only got $50 a show instead of the promised $250.

GN'R went back to Los Angeles and continued to rehearse. Their "home" on Sunset Boulevard was called The Hell House. They hadn't money so they lived on cheap wine and biscuits.

Hmm, a good read. But doesn't help with who played on these songs or when they were recorded. I Don't believe those songs are full GN'R based on what I've read over the years on these forums. I believe it to be West arkeen and Del on those songs. But I couldn't prove it. To me, it's the drum machine that gives it away. I thought it was common knowledge West Arkeen plays gutiar on Crash Diet. :shrugs:

  3. Axl is SOOOO full of shit. when he feels like he's lost something, he sues! He sued geffen to stop the release of Greatest Hits,

He sues Former band members, he sued his manager Azoff, Now he sues Activsion. I'm sick of his stupidity. Thinking Axl

will stop sueing people everythime he "thinks" he's been wronged is like thinking Steven will stop doing drugs every time he gets wasted. It just isn't going to happen. so why waste our time?

  4. Why doesn't Slash just "magically" find a room at the same hotel as Axl while they are on tour ... then "magically" run into him in the hallway ... then "magically" suck Axl's cock so that Axl will invite him on stage?

Slash can just make up an excuse that he was "there for business" and would save face.

It worked for Duff ... so why can't it work for Slash?

    LMAO!!!

No reunion is going to happen. The best anyone of you Slasholes can wish for is a "guest spot" - and that is already asking for too much.

The only people who would benefit from a reunion are: Steven, Slash, Duff, and Matt.

Izzy could give a rats ass. He gets stage fright on the big stage. Slash, Duff, and Matt need exposure for the new VR band. Steven, the poor soul, has been living his AFD days for like the past 30 years, he just needs a taste of the "real thing" one last time ... before he ODs for good.

A reunion does nothing for Axl. A reunion would be the end of Axl and any new GnR music.

Like it or not, GnR is what is today. CD is closer to the experimental and edgy sound of AFD than all the non-ballads on UYI and any of the other music put out by any of the old members.

Now remember folks why the old GnR broke up. Axl wanted more creative music from the band, while folks like Slash and Duff were stuck to their current sound - which by the way has not progressed one bit. Had Axl agreed to release music like that found on Snakepit or Duff's loaded crap, GnR would have surely died in '96 for good. And VR was (or is) no better either.

So just be happy that Axl knew well enough what was in the best interest in GnR's long term success.

Thanks to Axl's decisions, GnR still lives today and still has the opportunities to continue to create experimental and edgy new music that nobody else can match in both skill and creativity.

So, here is a toast for CD II, CD III, CD IV, and so on.

The past needs to stay buried in the past. Live and let die!

this is the biggest peice of crap i've ever heard and contradicts everything that we know about Axl and GN'R.

  5. The first solo notes in the intro of this song is the worst i've ever heard. The

solo for the song is the 2nd worst thing i've ever heard, it's so sloppy. I hate it.

    The leaked version is better.

  6. One in a million (not due to lyrics but Slash's solo's is so amazing!)

    Reckless life (love the lyrics)

Nice Boys (stevie's drumming is awsome)

Think about you (very underrated song on AFD)

Whole lotta' Rosie (best live version)

    Coma (need I say more?)

  7. I could care less about Axl making new music with his band. Frankly CD was mediocre at best.

If it ain't the original members. Then it's just another band. GN'R changes members so much

you don't have time to care about them. It's just like..... NEXT? Original members are all that

matters, (to me anyways) on stage or in the studio.
