  1. I'm going to the show at Ford Field. Bought them the week they went on sale. Don't have the megabuck seats, but I dropped $280 per.  Its the opener, i can't wait!!!!  Hoping Izzy may show up.

As far as ticket go, it's about sold out. Only some tickets in the 3 worst upper deck corner view, worst possible sound area sections are left

  2. I got tickets to Ford Field very easily. I'm not in the nose bleeds either. My seats are straight ahead forward at the stage, off the main floor (those tickets were expensive as fuck!) But I'm more than happy to be where I am. Cost me $275 per ticket, bought 3 tickets and a parking pass which was another $50. But who cares.

My thoughts on this whole thing is, when it's over, it's over. It's not going to continue, and I think we'd be extremly lucky to get one new collaboration out of this tour. I could see Duff and Slash cutting and pasting in there parts to already previously finished material of Axles. And that w I updated be great to.

Im just looking forward to the show!

  3. My best guess is wherever they want to be not thiking about GNR. Most certainly not performing, recording, writing or producing. Maybe theyll have a Christmas listening party and flashback to the memorys of making all those songs. Some remixes and also to the same version of the same songs that are highly likely to never be heard. They can be like "oh wow, I remember when Bucket and Brain came up with this" Hells yeah!!!!

Close the doors and drapes!!! Make sure the neighbors can't hear!!!!!!

    Merry Fucking Christmas!!!

  4. Even though Axl sounded good at the end of the Illusions tour, I think the 2 year tour took its toll. Permanantly. So many things are possible. Surgery, removed nodes, who knows, I doubt anyone ever will. His voice was being abused. There are so many old youtube videos where you can hear his vocals shredding apart. There should have been recovery time in there. And a lot of it. I think he can still sing any way he wants now, but as for his old style, it seems he can only do it for a song or two live. In the studio he can save his vocals and record on his time. On stage he seems to have had to make alot of adjustments for the damage already done.

  5. Fuck Faith No More, fuck Mike Patton. He was a self righteous prick in the 80's & 90's, and he still is. If his music was all that's important and his expression of it then why is it necessary for him to dog any other band that happens to come up in conversation with the guy. There's no denying he's a good singer, performer and writer, but he's also a pretentiousness bitch that needs to shut up and sing.

I know this wasn't about Patton. But whenever I see this bands name I can't help but think of that asswipe.

  6. I couldn't agree more man. So sick of the following topics:

    - When did Axl lose his rasp

    - Reunion

    - Some band member saying next year

    - Anyone seen Axl in public?

Look, we're the biggest fans and we deserve something. We're not asking for a lot. Just a slice of the pie. Not even a whole slice. Surely they can leak something small for us. And I'm really calling on the band members to stop being pussies and share something with us. They are grown men in their 50's and they act like they can't share a little of the secret sauce with us. No fans deserve just a little bit more than GNR fans. Come on guys!

Just because leaks happened once, doesn't mean it'll ever happen again. It's not commonplace for rock bands to have unreleased music leaked onto the internet two years before an album is out.

I'd like to see it happen as much as the next fan, but I'm afraid we'll have to wait until an album comes out to hear anything new, that's if it ever does.

Your right! And I'd also think it's not commonplace for one guy to hoard his own music for 15-20 years! For real.
  7. Over the years many former and current band members have speculated as to when or if, any new releases were on the horizon. It seems as though none of them really know. They seem to be aware that there is finished material. Material that seems to still be tweaked. Some have even mentioned working on some files. But when it comes down to the question of when, it seems they are clearly just taking a guess. Even Axl has seemed to guess at times. My opiniun on what makes a band is working together, communicating on all levels, and at the very least, being in the know, or even having some input regarding new material.

Sure there are bands that have difinitve leaders who make the big decisions. But I don't think the rest of the band is as clueless as the members of GNR. Hetfield and Ulrich clearly run Metallica, and make all final decisions. But Kirk Hammett knows when a new record is coming out. And he knows what songs are going to be on it. Point being that Guns continues to be a secret circus. Where band members don't really have any idea as to when or if new music is on the way at all.

  8. I think a lot of the Illusions stuff deserves more mention.

RNDTH, DnB, PC, YAtF, DTJ, The Garden, GoE, Bad Apples, Dead Horse, 14 Years, Breakdown, Locomotive. Love all of those.

We talk about You're Crazy acoustic, but it's still underrated.

I agree, I love Illusions. The only tunes I skip are the ones that have been so overplayed over the years, like KOHD. I still listen to it sometimes. But all in all, I've always been a big illusions fan.

  9. It's over. Done, finished. If something was gonna happen with all the other "supposedly" finished CD Era music, it would have happened by now. It makes absolutely no sense to wait and hope people become starved for GNR music again. That entire argument is just stupid. GNR fans have been starved for new music forever.

When you count all the years since CD songs have been played live and up to its actual release it's like it was never new music to begin with. Sure a few songs were never heard, and it was great to hear the studio versions and actually hold a physical copy in our hands. But alot of time has passed. There are bands out there that have formed, released 2 or 3 records, broke up and formed other bands that have released new records in the time since CD was officially released.

I really think the only way we ever hear songs like The General or Atlas Shrugged is if someone just leaks them. Otherwise no one is gonna hear these songs. Axl is done. And its unfortunate IMO.

  10. Im a lyricist, so if a song doesnt have good lyrics, regardless of how good the music is, i wont like it. GNR became my favorite band because of there lyrics. Its my opinion that Axl is the best lyricist of my generation.

From beginning to end I'd go with Prostitute. But, if I were to just select a verse it would be the outro on CITR.

  11. This has been discussed to death. As Marc reiterated, Axl does not feel as though Slash has come clean. Plain and simple. Whatever "it" is Slash did or said, Axl is still bitter about it. Could be one specific incident or, one specific topic. Or, it could be years and years of backstabbing. Yet another good example of Slash's condescending, selfish backstabbing behavior has been yet again outlined. This time in the book by Paul Stanley of Kiss. And while I agree that Stanley is a complete tool, it doesn't change the fact that Slash talked shit about the guy behind his back, while trying to play it off like they were friends, all I Slash could get something he wanted. And as expected, it pissed Paul Stanley off.

Now, multiply that by infinity, the fact that Axl wasn't just some has been jagaloon Slash didn't even know, and the sheer level of betrayal Axl obviously feels about it, and it seems pretty clear there are only a handful of things that can happen. One of which, just like alot of other ideas that have been tossed around, is for Slash to issue a public apology, including admittion of deceit and lies that have been told over the last 20 years. But A) Who's to say this is even called for, or deserved by Axl. As in, is anything Slash did or said really THAT bad that these extremes are really necessary? B) has it all been overblown in Axl's extremely questionable mind? Or C) a combination of both?

And if the answer is yes to any of these, is it worth Slash's time and reputation to admit ant wrong doings, realizing that Axl could simply say "see everyone, I was right, he was wrong, fuck you a Slash" The answer seems simple. You go your way, I'll go mine.

  12. As to MSL's credibility, it's definatly taken a huge hit. But I still believe he's as legit as ever. I like the guy, he's interesting to have a conversation with, and from my POV, I couldn't go as so far to say he makes things up. I'm in no way stating this as a fact, because I have absolutely no idea. But it's certainly interesting to I think, that it's entirely possible, MSL could be the one "Jim/Warchild" gets his so called, insider information from. Which would explain why MSL has Jim/Warchilds back all the time. Definatly an interesting thought.

I read a post right before writing this and it looks like it's been deleted, no idea why, coulda been by the poster. But he/she was absolutely correct when he/she said that MSL has been WAY over the top pro GNR, pro TB, Pro Axl. Especially the TB part. Which makes believe the rumor is true. That Beta is, or was fired. Why make something up about someone he's actually done nothing but praise for quite sometime, knowing there would be backlash about it.

Ever since the flash drive incedent, MSL has been the General of leading the crusade against leaking GNR material. A thing I would believe is made so much easier being that he already posses everything. That's the only thing that's ever annoyed me about MSL. Don't rant on about how important it is to purchase Appetite For Democracy as to show UMG that GNR still has a large market worthy of another release of new music, and preach on as to how any further leaking of material will only further delay said "new release" while your jamming out to your pirated OMG, Silkworms, remixed TIL and whatever else he has. And tell everyone how awesome it is, but sorry, nobody else can hear it, just me. Slightly hypicritical in that sense I'd have to say.

But, as a whole, he is a good guy and an extremly reliable source, IMO. Can't explain why he did a 360 after the flash drive incedent, nor can he, as he brushes this all off by saying there are particular years he is not allowed by law to discuss publicly. And I'm sure this is true as well. But it's still pretty shady. And as I suggested earlier, I can't for the life of me figure out why he defends Jim/Warchild to the extent he does, or why he goes out of his way to help establish Jim/Warchild as a "legitimate source of information" other than the possibility I mentioned before.

Either way, in the end, it all still adds up to the fact I personally believe Beta was shit canned. Whether she still is who knows? But if she got fired for getting the new DVD out, it just goes to show how fucked up Axl's thought process is. He's already wasted nearly 20 years. And 20 years of him in his prime. And if he couldn't get behind releasing this DVD, there's no way anyone is gonna get me to believe he intends on releasing new music. No way.

  13. I'm so sick and tired of the old "buy American cars" thing. Yes, the auto industry has a lot to do with it, but it isn't because people aren't buying American cars, it's because auto companies recklessly produce way more shitty cars than they can sell. I've lived in Michigan my entire life, and I certainly do not have any soft spot whatsoever for the industry that has fucked this state over time and time again, though is still somehow glorified locally and nationally. People see Michigan as the "car state", and it makes me sick. I can't stand auto workers and their sense of importance; you get payed $20+ an hour to stand on an assembly line and do the same thing over and over again in the name of a piece of shit car that will last 3 years at most for whoever is dumb enough to buy it, and is likely to get called back for any number of reasons. You aren't any more important than a fucking burger flipper.

Michigan is what it is thanks to General Motors and the UAW, they aren't building cars for a demanding market, they're running a fucking racket and wasting shit loads of resources that could be used for a more sustainable industry. What that is, I don't know, but it sure as shit is not car manufacturing!

First off, yes, there are multitudes of things that could and should be fixed and cleaned up by the UAW. But dont forget why the UAW was necessary in the first place. The greed of corporate America would much rather see Americans living in third world poverty than have to share there profits with the workers whom actually do the physical labor. And were not talking about chump change, we are talking about billions and billions of dollars that if left in the hands of CEO's would funnel only to a select few.

The UAW stopped this. And provided the United States with a large amount of middle class wages for decades.Of which during this time, middle class America thrived. We are now at a new crossroads with corperate America due to the lack of Union solidarity. Of which is once again resulting in the the quick and massive decline of middle america. Corperate greed has reached an alltime high, and morally, its absolutely a disgusting state of affairs. GM, Ford and Chrysler would much rather ship middle class jobs over seas, take the losses to do so now, for the windfall of profits they will get in the very near future.

These, and the vast majority of large American corporations, no longer care about the country they grew up in, and provided the opportunity by which they thrive. These modern day CEO's only care about there four year plans for big payout bonuses, and get there's while the getting good. And then they opt iut with a big fat multi million dollar payout. And for what??

And while this continues on, the American auto worker is supposed to take pay cuts and lose benefits and job securities while the upper class, white collar workers have continued to increase there wages and bonuses each and every year. It no longer borders on criminal. It is criminal.

Lets not even get started with the government corruption and the fact Americans continue to pay millions of dollars a year for former Senators, Congressman and Presidents that no longer even work for the US government. Nor the fact that they get to vote for there own raises. Its an economic joke.

The last thing id be concerned about regarding the US economy is whether or not a auto line worker was being paid $20 per hour. The US needs these jobs. If we dont have them, then the US upper class gets what they want, and what George Bush Jr set out to do when he ran for President and won twice. And thats the complete destruction of the middle class of America. They only want two classes. Upper and lower. And they are definitely winning.

  14. No creative desire, no ambition, no drive, no respect for the fanbase whatsoever from this "organization". Bumble is a musician who wants to be part of something new and original. Not this shit show cover band. Also he's probably sick of pretending to be something(Gusn N' Roses) they're not. I'd imagine on some level all the guys in the band are embarrassed by this mess.

I totally agree. I love Axl, and over the years I've always taken his side, and always defended him when my friends would dog on him. But now things are really making more sense to me. If this is the same shit Duff & Slash had to put up with as EQUAL partners, prior to them basically becoming employees, then I can totally see there point of view, whether or not they were drunk or strung out. Since those two likely never felt like they were Axls subordinates, they weren't going to tolerate the late show ups, skipping rehearsals and recording sessions, not to mention the monotonous tinkering Axl is now very well known for on recorded tracks.

Now flip the script. If Duff and Slash had no say, or very little, then what chance does Ron or Richard have in getting Axl to release the old shit, motivate him to get his ass in the studio to work with these fine hard working musicians that are chomping at the bit to write and record with him. And then, fuck, I don't know, maybe release that to? I know. Thus is all crazy talk.

I mean, if Axl wanted to overdub his overdubs, record his vocal in three different octives, that's fine in my book. He's the singer. But when you go behind a band mates back and have there parts replaced? I'm sorry, you stepped over the line. I wonder how Axl would have felt and reacted if during the final credits of Interview With A Vamlire, when Sympathy For The a Devil started to play, if he suddenly noticed some his vocal tracks had been replaced by Dave Pirner, how happy would he have been with that?

And to be in the shoes of the current band, they have to feel like they don't matter. How could they when the primary thing they want to do is not just denied them, but just completely blown off. What's that like? I wonder what even gets said. "

Axl - "Hey guys, great show tonight. After this Vegas residency is over, you guys are off the rest of the year"

DJ, Richard, Ron & Tommy all simultaneously ask - "hey you guys want to get together and start working on the new record? With all the material we have, we could have a full record ready to release by the beginning of 2015. What do you think Axl?"

Axl - "Lol, look guys, you go do whatever you want. I still have three records lined up for release that none of you played a role in writing. So while your working on new shit, make sure you learn all of Bucket and Robins parts from those."

The band - "ok Axl, so when are those going to come out? I mean there already supposed to have been out already. And when does that mean you'll record with us, and when will that material will get released"

Axl - "gee whiz guys, fuck if I know. Maybe never get released. And as far as recording, I have a lot of shit to do, so I'll get back to you on that. I have No idea when the old stuff us coming out. Whenever UMG does exactly what I tell them I guess. Here's your check. And by the way, DJ you've been docked for butchering SCOM. And don't let Ron know were talking about recording either. I want to keep him in the dark for no particular reason"

    Ron - "what?"

Axl - " oh fuck! Your still here Ron?"

    Ron - "Yeah"

Axl - " oh nothing man, Beta is calling me. I gotta go. I'm meeting my Zen master in my basement, I'm a couple days late, gotta go. We'll talk later bro!"

The Band - " anyone here get the feeling were never gonna write and record together?

Buckethead pops in - "hey guys, fuckin run. Get out of here. This ship sank 10 years ago. Axl is perfectly complacent with continuing to do what he's been doing. Your music is NEVER going to come out. Trust me. I'm still waiting on years of my life's work to come out of that damned vault!"

  15. I'd have to believe its likely the same reason Bucket, Robin & Brain all left. Lack of production. I can't imagine any of these guys being satisfied with one release every 12/13 years. How could they? They all seem to be highly driven creators. It's over abundantly clear there is ZERO creative opportunities in GNR. Now, I'm not saying there's not music being written, and it's likely the same reason for all, but different circumstances. In Bucket and Robins case I'd believe its all the work that they did put in, only to finally figure out the vast majority would never come out.

And in Ron's case (and I fully expect Ashba and Richard to follow suit eventually) the realization that if there's already two to three albums worth of completed material Axl intends on releasing prior to anything potentially written by the current incarnation, that the likelihood of anything they may write, won't be released until after these 3 records of material are released. Then the realization that since these would have to come out first, anything he may actually write with Axl, won't possibly see the light of day until after Ron is living in a retirement home.

It has to be frustrating as well knowing anything they do write together instantly becomes Axl's to do with as he wishes. Bucket, Robin, Ron & Fortus probably have a vast amount of material they really love and believe in, but can't use it now because they wrote it with GNR. So even upon leaving, these are lost songs for them. Lost solos, lost riffs. Has to really suck. I can't imagine creating a great riff or solo that you worked very hard on, and possibly believe may be some of your best work, and know deep down nobody's ever gonna hear what you created to be head,

Of course this is all speculation. But like I said in the beginning. They couldn't possibly have signed up to create and release absolutely nothing.

  16. seriously though, why would Axl waste time, effort and money to sit down/write/record with the current band, where he apparently has hours upon hours of material that he has accumulated over the Bucket years that he himself has already assisted in the writing and recording process from back then. Why go through the whole entire bullshit again especially when he is 12 years older, when his past effort hasn't even come to fruition in the public market yet?

In Axl's eyes, it's an absolute redundant notion to go and do something new for the sake of the current band, when the 'old' material that would be new to all of us, hasn't been released yet.

I agree. But to him, that material has got to seem old as fuck don't you think? I mean, he's been listening to the unreleased finished stuff longer than we've had CD! One would think he'd have done something since 2002, or whenever these songs were finished. I don't know. I do agree that it's pretty irrelevant if Ron leaves. And it makes sense since just about everyone has commented in some form or another about writing new material for Guns, and with DJ. Everyone but Ron.

I also don't think it would be a bad idea for Axl to go the route of the Beatles. No more touring. Just studio releases. Especially if he's burnt out on it. And his vocals are certainly not holding up. He still has his moments of brilliance, but they are coming in shorter bursts, fewer and further between. And in the studio, he can focus on just recording one track in a week. Go full on Axl on it, and not have to worry about keeping it respectable for 3 hours. I'm glad I got to see him again a few years back, but at this point I really think he needs to ether hang up the live touring, or at the very least have shorter tours, shorter sets, and more days off in between.

For me, it seems like the voice is still there when he digs down to get it. But all I can figure is he knows it won't hold up for 3 songs in a row, much less a 3 hour gig, playing 3 to 4 nights a week. I'd prefer to see and hear less of him if it means we'd get to hear the Axl Rose we all know and love.

  17. I'm not so sure Axl has lost the desire to create new music. I think it has more to do with a fear of not meeting expectations. And by everything I've seen and heard for the last 26/27 years, Axl has pretty high expectations. Where as most would view a million copies sold as a success, Axl probably views it as a failure. With all the backlash of Chinese Democracy being dubbed a commercial failure, of which I don't believe, by the mainstream media, I have to wonder, if after all is said and done, if he's just scared, in his mind, to further tarnish his legacy.

Of which I have to admit, it took a hit tonight with the airing of the Golden Gods awards show. He had moments, but for this to air after a week of being called The Worlds Greatest Singer, is kind of a joke. I am not an Axl basher. I know he's in his 50's, and I don't expect him to sound like he did in 1989 or even 2006. But there were some moments that were truly embarrassing in his vocals on this awards show. I'm just being honest.

  18. Nice job everybody. I promise to find a real mic next time around. ll_tj makes my socks go up and down. :) Everybody did a great job and thank you, evader, for all your time and effort. We wuvs ewe. ;)

    Thanks for the comment.

Wow. That sounded beyond amazing. Well done everybody.

    ll_tj you sing like Axl!

Edit: Like the good Axl, I mean.

Thanks for the comment! Much appreciated.

  19. I cant even begin to imagine how long it would take for the current band to decide on 11/12 tracks to record. That decision making process alone is going to take a year. Then I could see the band recording the instrumentals within a reasonable time frame. But the again, I cant imagine how long it would take Axl to come up with lyrics. And even then, when that is done, how long will it take for Axl to record the vocals?? Now, approximately 7 years later later, the mixing process begins. We all know how long this could take.

So being completely realistic here, it could take another 8-10 years for this stuff to be released. By then, once again, no one will care. And lets not forget the Chinese leftovers would still not be out yet either. So just based on probability, I dont think Axl should can CD 2in favor of new recordings. Or we will never hear anything at all.
