To me both Snakepit records as they are are better than Chinese without a doubt. But I see the potential how great they could have been.

I mean, all you've got from the GNR mixture is Slash and they're still awesome, but add Axl's and Izzy's input to them and I'm sure these records would sound totally different but were even better than they are. Better lyrics, stronger songwriting for both, vocal wise and instrumentally... with songs, even more well structured but still with all of Slash’s cool stuff like the riffing, the solos, and cool breakdowns. Mixed with dome Axl ballads and some cool Izzy stuff.

To me these records are one of the best records of their decade but they could have been one the best ever even in the general public.

    That's what I'm talking about!

Sorry, I disagree. I found the songwriting on Ain't Life Grand to be weak, and the tunes clichéd. Axl's vocals would not have saved it.

Chinese Democracy may have been bizarre in places, but at least Axl was trying to do something new.

Interesting you say that, in most of non-english sponken countries, people tend to evaluate songs for a more melodic point of view, never though about it lyricwise.

I know IFOCSW has some weak lyrics like "be the ball", but I think sonically ALG yes so tight and mean and GNResque.

I really can't stand CD, I don't know why, but to me the record didn't aged well.

  3. Is "Ain't Life Grand" the ultimate GNR album?

"It's 5 O' Clock Somewhere" mixed with "Believe in Me" and one good Axl ballad, such as This I Love would be a superb album! Maybe a post-GNR-Grunge-Generation album.

I really don't think VR's songs were as near as good as anything GNR has ever done (they are cool, but "Libertad" is watered down); CD is better if compared to them.

But "Ain't Life Grand" with Axl on vocals would be - IMO - stronger than UYI 1/21.

doesn't seem to work in my country. I have zero information regarding the playlist. Then again, I see there's nothing new. What happened with the barriers?

There were two major iron barriers blocking the stage ramps. Axl started to kick on out until it went down, in a split second the other one was gone, then he fired a crew member and then Slash started to walk all over the stage. LOL

If I were a Bodyguard, I'd want my Client surrounded for his or her maximum protection. 😀 Or close to it. The only thing this Bodyguard "sandwich," wouldn't protect against is an overhead aerial attack or a bottom attack.

Barricade, a bottom attack, sandwich, this conversation is going south! LOL

Hmm. Barricading a Client would be best to me. Bodyguard on the left, Bodyguard on the right, Bodyguard in the back, Bodyguard in the front. A perfect barricade. 😀

I find the out of control Axl who jumped headfirst offstage into a crowd of Fans and hit someone in the head at a Concert and then stormed off to be a jarring contrast to the eerily calm person in court. 🤨🤔

Oh my... That barricade image looked to much like a... nah, forget it! LMFAO :wow: :tongue2::tongue2::axl::tongue2::tongue2:

  7. Axl had two security guards, he didn't have any real treats so to barricade him wouldn't matter.

"Everyone with the exception of... No, well everyone." - he was talking about heroin use, so he was talking about Duff.

Now imagine how many documents these guys sign on a daily basis, I don't think the read it up to liner notes.

He's not on Zanax, this is normal Axl mood.

Ok you missed the sarcasm. When someone uses "...." that's a sign they aren't being fully serious. I don't think there is a "next chapter" ...99.9% sure there isn't... but they did advertise it, so I expected someone on mygnr to get the joke/sarcasm

And the number one most important thing that makes or breaks GNR going forward is not new music or new setlists, it's whether Axl sounds good. So saying you don't care about Axls voice is moronic. I get it that you're upset about how stale this band is though, I am beyond bored of the current offerings and have been since 2016.

Is there an audience in the US, Europe and Australia/Asia for further touring of GNR without change? yup. That has been proven since 2019 min. Each time we say surely nobody still wants to see this show again, but the tickets still sell... even on here there's people saying "I'm done" but they go and buy tickets when they announce new shows. So yeah, if a residency was announced people would 100% go, same songs or not... more than likely lots of people from here would go hoping to play the odds that they hear some rarities if they buy multiple tickets or go to a later date closer to the end. I have no interest in seeing GNR, but if I found myself in the same city as GNR when they were gigging, sure I'd go if I had nothing else on! why not and I guess that's what GNR is trading on. I don't think they need to be taken so seriously though, they are a joke! but who cares because every one of your other favourite bands does it the right way, so just enjoy them and take what you can from GNR... IF you're bothered.

Well, maybe I didn't get the sarcasm, my bad, but...

Axl's voice has nothing to do with GNR's current state, it has being criticized for 21 years now, since Rock In Rio 2001 and he still going full mickey.
