  1. Good idea Gunns.

Unfortunately to adequately take advantage/have an effective marketing campaign they'd need to play new songs

and at the bare minimum have an album release date established which is not going to happen.

This assuming they have the vision or foresight to arrange such a progressive event.

And it's not GNR's fault for the Lisboa gaffe.

That's on whomever was producing the broadcast.

  2. I know best buy is having bigtime financial troulble, as alot of music retailers are, but are they definately going out of biz?

Reports of Best Buy's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

The company needs to adapt to the modern market by getting smarter and smaller but they are by no means going out of business.

They've become stagnant in an economic climate where discretionary income has been consistently diminishing and have failed to embrace emerging trends producing lower sales/slower growth and thus lower stock price.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

  3. With that purchase, I've bought over 200 copies of Chinese Democracy.

And that's not even including the case I bought with some friends when the album came out.

  4. I'm talking about with Guns N' Roses, not his solo work.

Bucket wrote and recorded 30-something songs.

Bumble recorded over his work and toured on the success of something two other guitarists (Slash and Bucket) built.

I'm not hating on the guy but he has done nothing but fill an empty seat since Bucket left.

When he writes and records his own stuff then people can start to compare the two.

But until then it's a bad joke.

  5. All you Bumble apologists make me sick.

Slash - Built the GNR sound with Izzy and Axl and Duff and Steve. The disrespect that this guy gets on a daily basis is just ludicrous. He helped make one of the best albums ever made. PERIOD. I personally find his works post-GNR to be an embarrassment and his conduct unethical and dishonest at best, but fact remains - he made Appetite. Without him that record does not exist. Put aside your bias and bullshit and realize he is one of the all-time greats.

Bucket - This dude is the new Guns N' Roses, are you kidding me? He built the backbone of every song that you heard on Chinese Democracy with help from Pitman, Axl, and Robin. Any music cred or respect for the new GNR was because of this guy yet you exiled him because of what? He wore a fucking mask? You smallminded philistines.

Bumble hasn't done SHIT yet he gets all the praise? Oh that's right, he ruined SR and Rhiad with some elephant noises. Forgot about that. You guys are ridiculous.

  6. MP3 releases sound like shite. It's a good thing for EPs or bonus tracks but too compressed for a whole record.

You shouldn't talk shit about things you know nothing about.

NIN released The Slip with plenty of options, high-quality lossless .M4A and even the 'gold-standard' .FLAC.

There's absolutely no quality limit when it comes to online releases.

    If you're a retard and download MP3s - that's your own fault.

It's bullshit like this post that excuse people's laziness.

And don't say "it won't work because it's not GNR" that is the most stupid statement I've heard in my life.

  7. Marc, any chance of a digital version of the book on things like the iPad?

I know they technically have an iBooks version and Vook version or some shit, but they don't have all the awesome photography in there.

Anyway, get work keep it up. I shill it to both GNR and non-GNR fans I know.

  8. This is getting boring. Someone from the band could come here and deny all this and shut the fuck up all these "insiders" kids.

    Don't make me laugh.

Someone from the band COULD fix that garbage website, treat the fans like respectable humans, and provide updates of the ongoings of the band.

However they don't which leads to either the occasional informed insider posting things or in most cases, people who desperately seek attention spouting out misinformation.

Besides, what makes you think people from the band would give you and honest answer instead of PR-speak?

  9. I always got the feeling that Catcher was a "gift" to the hardcore fans - that it was not on the intended tracklisting - that it was a last second addition, and changed the order of the songs. Axl gave that one to the fanbase, because of demand.

What you perceive to be benevolence was a shrewd decision by the record company to minimize losses and maximize future return.

  10. Someone ask Baz about his favorite song on the the other records.

He's like a kid who had too much sugar, there's no way he's not going to say something awesome.

If the whole rock band thing doesn't work out he has a bright future in Public Relations. Hell, he should work for GN'R.

  11. Outdoor venues sell better than indoor ones for a myriad of reasons, that comparison is elementary my dear Axlson...

No tour because US is a tougher sell as far as new GN'R, comes with expectations of new album, and requires heavy promotion not to mention lots more planning than small legs here. 7 pages really?

  12. This I Love? Maybe on the classical station or Double Clef FM with Morgan Merriweather..... I love that track but seriously... get some brains moran.

Sorry? As awesome and Floydian as it is. No way that get plays nowadays.

Chinese would've been a great single without that longass intro and using the 01 version it would have kicked the radios ass back then but that ship sailed long ago.

Looking at it with fresh eyes only Better and Chinese could possibly do well on the radio. Eh If The World maybe too, besides that none of it is commercially viable music. Not a bad thing, but we're pandering to the dummies on the radio.

  13. Bumble comes off as a bit of a passive aggressive douche although I would give him credit that question probably gets old.

As far as the whole Axl thing, when you are in a band or relationship your love for that person should naturally protect them, so in most ways I'm fine with his response there.

However, that being said sometimes people just want a little honesty, no bullshit, and that goes a long way... "sure Axl is sometimes a pain in the ass but we work through it" etc. etc.

for example...if Michael Jackson would have been like "yeah its weird sometimes when you think about me sleeping with kids but I like it and I don't whip out my wee wee....so it's fine America....really stop being ignorant"

then he probably wouldn't have gotten half the shit he got but he kept playing his Peter Pan character while the cameras were rolling and we know how that turned out.

P.S. Time to give Fortus the limelight. Best guitar new GN'R has had besides Bucket.
