Perhaps I'm just blind, but I can't find any information on CD following this link.

Was the CD-part removed from the site?

For the record I just punched in the UPC Dark posted a while ago I didn't submit a modification request.

I just went to page 1 of this thread. Took me back to October 2006 and everybody thought the album would come out in November of that year. Everyone was just as excited as we are now. We all know how it turned out back then... We must not forget that after all it's GN'R we're dealing with!

can someone please tell me why everyone is NOW convinced of the release?? what happened today, or is it still just a very strong rumor?

Chinese Democracy is listed in Best Buys internal RSS, and there are three different versions of CD in it.

The SKUs in BBs Computer are referred to as follows:

9111016 - Chinese Democracy

9111034 - "Version 2" (also Chinese Democracy)

9111052 - "Version 3" (also Chinese Democracy)

For the hell of it, I called the Best Buy in Pueblo, Colorado (I remembered their stupid zip code from those commercials in the early 90's)

There is no further indication in the system of what the three different versions are.

Also - he mentioned that the CDs are scheduled to be 'released' on October 28th - that does NOT mean necessarily album release, he thought it might mean like, taking pre-orders and the like.

(I didn't ask about the vinyl - didn't want to push my luck)

Thanks for the info. Well, now I think it will be the same CD, but with different artwork or perhaps different bonus tracks. But whatever it is, I think it's cool and I buy all of them!

That won't really work. The AC/DC album is a WalMart exclusive. Not Best Buy.

I don't want to be the negative nanny, but what I don't get:

If CD is to be released on Nov 23th, shouldn't there be a single out at least two or three weeks ahead? Didn't Axl say in 2006 he wanted to promote CD properly? Don't they have to make a video for the single? Doesn't making a video neccessarialy mean that all of the band members have to be at the same place at the same time? Why are all the band members up and away with their side projects still? Why don't they stop that and team up?

All Mysteron said was "nothing confirmed." Doesnt mean it's not happening, just means there's been no announcement officially as of yet.

So if it is released, he looks smart for saying it was going to be released.

If it isn't released..well, he looks smart because he said "nothing is confirmed", meaning it could change.

That's how you get a reputation as an "insider".

As I've said in the past, it was because of him that I got to see GNR 5 times in '06...I don't begrudge the guy, so I'll take this as a positive sign. He won't be the one breaking the news after all.

yea, at least he was nice enough to say something. Axl would kick his ass if he broke the news himself, he can't really go on HTGTH and say something like "yes, it's official, CD is coming out Nov 23, and here's the tracklisting". But if Nov 23 is true, and I think it is, Axl better get his ass in gear or else the album will leak before we even get the official word.

Does Axl even know which of the person close to the band does log in at htgth to post as "mysteron"?

So in order to read all replies, I have to click on every single answer, which is a waste of time.

No news, no tour scheduled, no activities planed, no updates on the website, no communication towards the fans, it's practically the same situation like after the end of the 2002 tour.

How long do you think we have to wait this time until GNR will tour again? (I don't even talk about CD being released.)

My bet: Chinese Democracy world tour starts 2009!

I don't need to read a tabloid to realize that CD won't be released anytime soon.

I just saw that documentary "nazi pop twins" about Prussian Blue. I must say I feel really sorry for the girls. Their mother shouldn't have custody for them anymore, the twins should stay at their grandmother, which seems to be quite reasonable.
