  1. When it finally does come out they will be promoting the piss out of it. Look for promoting to begin in late August.

I'm looking for promotion to begin since 2001, but I can't find it anywhere.

  2. If Axl's voice isn't "whiny," I don't know who's is.

Oh, I know: Amy Lee or what's her name from Evanescence!

Listening to her makes me wanna -------> :vomit:

  3. Can you imagine how many dvds you would have if everybody had the same policy like you? Giving away concerts only in trage for another exclusive bootleg? You would have a SMALL collection. You are a free rider, taking things for free but not giving away things for free.

  4. Axl runs around too much to release a perfect live album. Watching Axl at a show is mesmerizing, and that doesn't come across when on a live album. Axl needs to play a couple low key gigs where he ditches his stage moves and just stands there and sings. I don't know if any of you guys owns the live "Band of Gypsies" album by Jimi Hendrix? It is an amazing live album which has a cool story behind it. Jimi played a live show at the Fillmore East where he pulled out all his stage moves, like playing the guitar with his teeth and behind his back. He walked off stage, and famed promoter and owner of the Fillmore, Bill Graham, told him that he was not impressed in the least. Jimi was taken aback by Grahams criticism of his showing off, and so when he went back out later on to perform another show, he just stood there and played. The result of doing this was the classic live album "Band of Gypsies". This is exactly what Axl needs to do in order to release a classic live album. I would pay anything to go to a show and just watch Axl stand there and sing. If Axl were to do this for a couple shows there is no doubt in my mind that he could put out a classic live album.

That happened in Donnington 2006 while performing "Better". Axl was pissed of as hell, so je just stood there and sang the song. He didn't miss one word on the whole song.

  5. Now we just have to hope that - as Merck said in his statement - "the muse will arrive" when the band is trying to complete the album in January. Then there are 8 weeks left from handing the album over to the record company until the possibly March 6th release.

  6. I became a Guns fan around 1993 when i was 12 years old. As the years of silence went by without any news I still listened to Gn'R's music, but I didn't follow the actions that were undertaken at that time (release of Live Era, Oh my God, new people joining the band).

The moment my interest not only in the old band and old music, but in the "new" GNR was aroused, was when I watched the 2002 VMAs and out of the blue: Axl fucking Rose!! I didn't even know that there still was a band and that they were touring. After seeing them, I started to use the internet to learn all movements of Axl and the new guys, I read about Chinese Democracy and looked forward to hear it soon. Since then I care. I even cared in the years of silence 2003-2005 and think that I will care for many more years, even if there isn't any album out soon.

  7. We waited for something special at the first Hammerstein show (and got it indeed because all the leaks minus CITR were played live for the first time). O.K.

    But then:

We thought something special might happen in Madrid (first show in Europe), at Rock in Rio (show that was meant to be the first show in Europe, very big crowd, television and internet broadcast, RiR generally was said to be special for Axl), Sep 16th Las Vegas show (first show back in the states), at KROQ Inland Invasion (big festival), Oct 20th Jacksonville show (first show of the regular NA tour, because the prior shows were just warm ups), Madison Square Garden (sold out, big crowd, N.Y. is special for Axl).

I might even have forgotten some shows whichs were treated as possibly special shows that could lead to a CD release date or the performance of an unheared track of the upcoming album in this enumeration. But we never got anything in this direction.

That's why I don't see anything special happen in Calgary.

  8. I just called my local "Karstadt", and they looked for Chinese Democracy in their database and found nothing among the upcoming releases. The guy told me that normally CDs pop up in the system about 4 to 5 weeks before they are actually released, but he said it would - theoretically - still be possible to release an album, which is not in their system in the moment before Christmas. Possible, but improbable.

Guess we have to wait and see, perhaps 2007 turns out to be the year...
