  1. The pause in the beginning we were planning the, well for various situations, members left, agents also was a nightmare of changes, but here was something very important which is what always made clear, the process was complete and gigantic, and there is no album, it's Guns N'Roses and followers and new fans who have been learning the new material are satisfied.

Any Spanish speakers on here able to check the translation on this?

Is this a suggestion that there is no new album to be released?

All we need is some clarity and someone to tell us what the fuck is going on!!!!!!!! Goddamit!!!!!!! Qt

I think he's referring to the shows they played before Chinese was out, but I may be wrong. Someone who speaks spanish please help! :xmasssanta:

EDIT: sorry, i didn't see the previous post!

    Frank

Decent drummer, but to me the best GNR ever had is probably Brain (except for that terrible YCBM @ RIR 01), if I have to choose. I like Freese too, but unfortunately we never had the chance to see him live with gnr. Also love what Adler did on Appetite (nothing extraordinary from a technical point of view, but awesome groove) as well as Sorum during the UYI tour (tough and powerful).

  2. My ACTUAL favourite setlist would include Cornshucker and maybe also It Tastes Good Don't It, but they obviously ain't gonna play those ever again, so... :xmasssanta:

    01. Chinese Democracy

    02. Welcome To The Jungle

    03. It's So Easy

    04. Better

    05. Fortus solo

    06. TWAT

    07. Street Of Dreams

    08. You Could Be Mine

    09. Ballad Of Death

    10. Sweet Child O' Mine

    11. -New Song-

    12. Another Brick In The Wall / Axl piano solo

    13. November Rain

    14. Sorry

    15. -New Song-

    16. Shackler's Revenge

    17. Ron's solo

    18. Nightrain

    ----------------------------

    ENCORE:

    19. Madagascar

    20. Don't Cry

    21. Down On The Farm

    22. Paradise City

Maybe one more new song during the encore?

  3. Brain is playing on that clip and he helped write that song. It is not from 1999 it is later than that when he was in the band.

The plot thickens! How do you know this?

  4. i think that someone "confirmed" that the checkmate clip was from the 1999 sessions (same source as IRS and Twat 1999) with Josh Freese

Cool, i didn't know that. Then I wonder why we got full leaks of IRS and TWAT and just a 15 seconds excerpt from Checkmate.

  5. Ahahah absolutely, I think I watched it 10 times in row

Btw, it'd be cool to know when Checkmate/Jackie Chan was recorded and who plays on it. I sent the clip to Brain a couple of years ago asking if it was him or Josh Freese playing, but got no answer unfortunately.

  6. If I remember correctly, Axl already had Madagascar chords progression floating around for a while, then heard the french horn synthesizer and thought it was perfect for that. I think he had also heard Pitman's work with the band Lusk and was particularly impressed by it.

As for Tommy, it was Josh Freese (by that time already playing with GNR) who told him about the available bass player spot. Tommy said, not very seriously, "maybe I should try", and soon got a call from the gnr camp.

Robin was suggested to Axl by Matt Sorum, then still in the band, some time after Slash quit. Matt wanted Slash back and RObin to play rhythm guitar. Axl's idea wasn't the same of course.

Don't remember how Brain came into the vision, but it was him who talked Buckethed into joining when Robin left to do the fragility tour with NIN. Then Robin was ready to come back and Axl decided that 2 lead guitars were better than one.

Does anyone remember how Brain joined the band?
