Decent drummer, but to me the best GNR ever had is probably Brain (except for that terrible YCBM @ RIR 01), if I have to choose. I like Freese too, but unfortunately we never had the chance to see him live with gnr. Also love what Adler did on Appetite (nothing extraordinary from a technical point of view, but awesome groove) as well as Sorum during the UYI tour (tough and powerful).

Fake? Aren't they related to gnr camp/axl in any way?

Nothing is more awesome than THIS, really. You can now lock this thread :xmasssanta:

It looks a bit like the cover of the third Infectious Grooves album.
Oh, yeah, and Dangerous Toys too.

My ACTUAL favourite setlist would include Cornshucker and maybe also It Tastes Good Don't It, but they obviously ain't gonna play those ever again, so... :xmasssanta:

03. It's So Easy
04. Better
05. Fortus solo
06. TWAT
07. Street Of Dreams
08. You Could Be Mine
09. Ballad Of Death
10. Sweet Child O' Mine
11. -New Song-
12. Another Brick In The Wall / Axl piano solo
13. November Rain
14. Sorry
15. -New Song-
16. Shackler's Revenge
17. Ron's solo
18. Nightrain
----------------------------
ENCORE:
19. Madagascar
20. Don't Cry

Maybe one more new song during the encore?

Chris Zabriskie, a musician and songwriter from Olympia, did an acoustic rendition of Better that I dig very much.

No. He should put out a sex tape.
If Sasha Volkova is in the tape I'll buy 10 copies. :xmasssanta:

So little news lately that we have to open threads to speculate on fake bar fights. Only in GNR world. :xmassrudolph:

Find this while googling:

Finck's Better, Bucket's Street Of Dreams, Finck's This I Love

I know it's a bit OT and of course I'm not trying to cupcake anyone, but I've just seen this and it made me laugh HARD:

He even added the crowd CHEERING during the chorus. Can't stop laughing. :xmasssanta:

So it seems it was Bucket that recommended Brain, not vice versa. Then how did Bucket join? Who did advice Axl to check him out?
-
If I remember correctly, Axl already had Madagascar chords progression floating around for a while, then heard the french horn synthesizer and thought it was perfect for that. I think he had also heard Pitman's work with the band Lusk and was particularly impressed by it.
As for Tommy, it was Josh Freese (by that time already playing with GNR) who told him about the available bass player spot. Tommy said, not very seriously, "maybe I should try", and soon got a call from the gnr camp.
Robin was suggested to Axl by Matt Sorum, then still in the band, some time after Slash quit. Matt wanted Slash back and RObin to play rhythm guitar. Axl's idea wasn't the same of course.
Don't remember how Brain came into the vision, but it was him who talked Buckethed into joining when Robin left to do the fragility tour with NIN. Then Robin was ready to come back and Axl decided that 2 lead guitars were better than one.
Does anyone remember how Brain joined the band?

Great editing work, I love it!
Is it all sourced from compressed/lossy videos or can you put out a dvd-quality version of this?
-
Great stuff Angeles! Did you film those yourself?

-
C'mon, what the hell is this?
-
I love this version actually. Not all the songs on Appetite For Reconstruction are exactly top notch, but My Michelle is the best for sure, it has some good hooks.

Awesome, great job Gunsguy!
And merry xmas to you all! :xmasssanta:

Nice idea gunsguy! Count me in!
