  2. "more enforcement of gun laws", while at the same time criticising the violent police apparatus.

it's always someone else who needs to sort things out. The government needs to make better laws. The police needs to enforce them better, while at the same time needing to become less brutal.

Another one of these logical fallacies you see proposed: "the other needs to become less violent, with violence if necessary"

I'd say, the current "gun laws" al least provide hope, that things can change. There is always the hope, that shootings will decrease when there's better laws. Go on then, change your gunlaws. I can guarantee, that without a change of people's mentality far and wide, mass murders will still happen.

  3. in the US especially, people don't lead meaningfull lives anymore. The society is hugely divided and there hasn't been more intolerance between people than since the days of stalin.

that's what you get with a "I'm the most tolerant person ever, but only when it's my personal extremist opinion" mentality.

Within this vast, intolerant mass, you then have lunatics who can shoot innocent people without a reason. Without a gun, they wouldn't have done it. But, without a climate of intolerance, they wouldn't either.

But of course, it's all the fault of gun laws and gun laws alone. Too much guns. Strange. In the middle east, you can buy an AK47 on the market so to speak. Apart from the religious inspired terrorist attack you don't hear of this type of mass shooting there. Because, even with the huge divide in religious beliefs in the middle east, you'd find that people of the middle east are very friendly, altruistic and compassionate.

Western people on the other hand, and americans in particular, are complainers. They want to succeed in life by doing nothing. When that is not economically valable, you get frustrated people like this.

So no, I do not think that changing gun laws will change the smallest thing. Everyone's mentality needs to change for that to happen.

If you really feel that way, then the solution is simple. Don't visit this place anymore. And I mean that sincerely. No one is forcing you to be here. If you enjoy internet forums, there are many out there. Find one, and I think you already have, that's more to your liking and doesn't make you feel bad.

I don't take it seriously at all, but I don't visit this place much anymore either and that's for the best. I think these are my first few posts since February. GnR section is full of negativity and toxic posters and this section, that used to have fun dialogue or more interesting music talk, is nowadays for the most part arguments and not much else. Or at least not topics I really care about. So I guess I still come here out of habit sometimes, but less and less, and I advise you to do the same.

you and me, are on opposing sides, and we both feel bad about the board. speaks books to me.

  5. EvanG and Soulmonster, I dont know how you two are in real life. But the posters I came to know here, have given me nothing but bad memories. That was probably not intentional, at least I hope not, but it's the truth.

you can say, it is only a message board. But at least from my experience, we do not live in a very friendly society anymore. Again, disagree with that, but that's how I experience the world. Call me a loner, a saddo, but again that's me. But you can be sure, I am not the only one.

it is the task of those who run this forum, to make this place more friendly and lively. And while it is certainly commendable they are paying for this board, what have they done to make this a warm welcome place I wonder? Downzy, and all the mods, ask yourself that. I mean this in the sincerest way possible. If you think that is not up to you, or you just don't care, why bother with this forum at all?

  6. this forum has always been one of the more unfriendly places I have visited.

a large part of my depression, is thanks to this board.

it is an unusual large collection of toxic people. Usually it's a small amount of negative people in a crowd of positive people, but here it is the other way around. I truly, truly struggle to name some good people on here. Most of them have moved on to other places.

it just hit me like a thunderbolt, but I was too blind to see.

I hope I can find the will not to click on this forum anymore.

    thanks for nothing, mygnrforum.

I just wrote out a big articulate post that was even peppered with some humour and olive branchy shit in there but I've deleted it because at this point it's all just fucking futile innit?

I think people are so fed up with me stubbornly defending myself, they'd really rather I just didn't. Whether I'm justified, facts, context, none of that matters to anyone but me really.

Ultimately I must bow unquestioningly to things such as you and downzy's views, LGBTQ and the Disney corporation - which, to me, is like a dystopian joke - or I'm the bad guy. Well, I don't like that, motherfuckers.

I don't want to do iiiit.

    Enjoy the movie.

they thought they'd make you, jump and be good :P

Congrats, another thread ruined by your incessant whining about how everyone is out to get white, straight men.

the strenght of a democracy, is the ability of opposing views being discussed. This means, both sides will have to cope with opinions they do not like to read.

And here you and your goaty friend sit around and complain about the sensitivities of progressive culture and yet you whine and complain that recent films offend your sensitivities.

Congrats, another thread ruined by your incessant whining about how everyone is out to get white, straight men.

everyone demands respect these days, but respect is not given it's earned.

deconstructing beloved franchises, calls for "vengeance" and generally holding contempt for white heterosexual males, is not going to earn lots of respect, certainly not by me.

And I'm not the only one with this view. What the "progressive" movements forgets, is that by and large, society does not support them. They can only survive by burning ridiculous amounts of money, leading to flop after hollywood flop. While movies that do not push this propaganda (puss in boots, mario movie) thrive and score millions of revenue. That is reality.

Besides, there is nothing new with there being a female lead role in Indiana Jones movies. They have tended to be more of the "damsel-in-distress" type, though, as a yin to the machochism of Jones. I understand such modern female empowerment can be a hard pill to swallow for a certain kind of men and that they feel it "ruins" their art. Well, they could always go back to watch old western movies where men rule and women don't instead of whining about it. Or just take a leaf from the stoicism of these primitive men they paradoxically fawn over.

hollywood, and disney in particular, seem to display contempt for white hetero male roles in any of the movies they make these days.

the new Indy does not seem to be an exception.

like star wars before, the movie seems to go in a disrespectful direction. disrespectful, to white male heterosexuals. It is purely racist / sexist propaganda.

modern female empowerment is a cancer. most females do not support this extremist, hatefull movement. Let alone a white male like yourself

Harrison Ford, and hence Indiana Jones, is an old man now. They need someone younger to accompany him in an adventure/action movie.

you clearly didn't watch the trailer. he looks young in it; that's what the plot is about; going back in time and be young again.

  12. it's made by disney. says enough.

had it been made by nintendo, a japanese company who still does not give a fuck about "modern audiences", then there'd be at least a chance this could be salvaged

but disney, by this point, is run by groomers and closet pedophiles who want to impose their moronic ideals to our children

  13. there's a new trailer, and by god the rumours were true. More woke shit.

looks like the new movie will go on a full assault destroying the legacy, with mind numbing, brain cell destroying "anti white male" drivel

makes kingdom of the crystal skull look like a bloody masterpiece

the new mario movie looks a thousand times more badass than this upcoming indy movie. Bury it already. I fucking hope it flops, i'm sure it will.

I was answering your previous question.

I don't doubt that the answer you gave, must have been somewhere between insulting my fucked up brain, and calling my views laughable

you'll have to excuse me, but I didn't take your posts to me too serious therefore. It's cute, that you attempted to have a genuine discussion, but may I suggest you revert to posting silly eye rolling memes?

  15. I don't get the hate for get in the ring.

Fun lyrics that gets the whole family singing along. Brilliant Izzy riff. Playfull slash soloing. The whole range of Axl voices, who seems to be in a particularily spirited mood.

Part of why I was so dissapointed in chinese, was that it didnt contain a song like this.

@action have you ever spoken to a woman who is not a family member?  Your thoughts on how women think are laughable.

We use our brains the same way men do. Do you not know this?

are you actually suggesting, I don't know women have a brain?

PS it's "your" brain is fucked up, not "you're" ;)

  17. civil war, YCBM, 14 years, knocking on heavens door, pretty tied up, so fine, breakdown,.... I love all of it.

I love the moody, but hard rocking vibe of the album.

Especially civil war, after all these years, is still so relevant today. maybe more today than it was then. Absolutely love this song, it gets me through the current times.

    (From my perspective)

The Metoo movement was not about Womens sexual freedom, it was about appropriate sexual behaviour from Men. IF the flower power generation had dealt with that we wouldn’t see the issues we have over the 50 years since then. Most women I know who go to work do so to earn money to pay their bills like I as a man do. Why would they want to be hit on in the middle of a work day?

why wouldn't they want to be hit on in the middle of the day?

seems a strange proposition. Women aren't asexual beings. Why wouldn't they want to be hit on when they like the guy in question? They can't switch off their hormones.

Besides, like we have ascertained earlier, women use the same kind of brain as men, so that's another indication that women, according to your own assertion, want the same things as men.

humans are not machines. our human needs very much still exist on the working floor. The claim that women do not "want" to be hit on while they work, seems very alien to me. Women are not robots.
