What does that mean exactly? I see it's plural too, which probably means more singles or EPs or whatever the fuck Hard Skool and Absurd with two live tracks was.

I suppose if we go on what Slash suggested, then the releases are staggered singles and a collated EP with a handful of essentially B-Sides and live tracks, rather than an outright album.  Underwhelming if that is the case, but certainly fits the rumours and the availability (lack) of usable material.

How he is the most talented musician who barely made use of his skills after 1991 and wasted decades of potential.

Sadly, I agree. Whatever the reason, stubbornness, insecurities, mental health, health or the actual legal issues that prevented the release of music in the later 90's/00's was a very sad loss for fans and Axl alike. I do wonder if he would change that if he could?

I saw a video where Older Axl told Fans,"Stay the fuc away!" 🤣 They were begging him for Autographs and Selfies when he was CLEARLY running late to an appointment.....

It seems Older Axl still has a bit of Younger Axl's explosive anger. 😃

I can't remember who it was, but someone said "Axl is still fucking combustable" a few years ago. I guess the removal of drugs, huge pressures of being in the biggest band in the world and various other stresses don't entirely absolve the nature of someone with that level of volatility

  4. Just a thought...does Spotify allow you to upload your own music in to a cloud location, like Apple Music does?

If so, I'd imagine the meta data of that music is indexed...and therefore...

Also, here's some search syntax for Spotify, for those who have it

Its no evidence either way, but feel like someone is fucking with us.

Thyme and Cuban skies is working strongly against any algorithm evidence

Pretty sure people at Spotify aren't setting out to fuck with a bunch of middle aged rockers searching for track names lol

It's either an algorithm that looks up all known associated song titles (released or otherwise), or it's actually a DB look up of content almost ready, or ready, to serve. Interesting that it's only just started to propagate though. But that could just be the frequency of searches.

So...it's either search engine association shit, or holy shit we're getting an album/EP shit!

Would the young Axl have been aware that he was damaging his voice with the technique he used to cause the 'rasp'?

I’m sure Axl had vocal coaches along the years, especially when GNR was the biggest band in the world, who likely told him if the ‘technique’ that was doing damage.

That said, if as someone who mentioned in technical detail how the rasp was generated, then it wasn’t so much a risk as something that had a limited lifespan.

All just an assumption, but I can’t imagine for a moment that Axl wasn’t in the picture about his longevity. I’m sure he has regrets about the 2000’s and not being to get more music made and released when (we assume) his voice was capable.

That part is honestly unbelievable to me, even for GN'R.

This should be very easy, IMO. You release 3 products:

Remastered versions of each album for those that just want that.

Release an SDE that includes both albums and all the extra tracks for those who want them.

Release a version of the SDE on vinyl.

It's that easy. Instead, we have this cash grabbing / fan milking horseshit.

I totally echo your views. I can only hope it’s a complete fuck up or oversight than a very shrewd move to push hardcore fans to buy multiple packs. It’s quite frankly sickening if it is a chess move cash grab.

Given TB‘s history, both are equally  plausible!

Am I reading this right?  The $260 super deluxe CD version does NOT have the live songs on the basic deluxe CD versions of UYI 1 and 2?   For example, Mama Kin in Paris with Steven and Joe isn’t listed on the $260 verison

apologies if I am just missing it

I’ve read this elsewhere, and yeah, you’re right. Apparently, if you want EVERYTHING you have to get a deluxe set and the CD versions.

What, how do I have a choice on the train? You want me to bring my vinyl record player with me so I can get the mega full quality awesome audio experience everytime I listen to a song? Haha

Yes, but my point was unless I'm an unemployed loser with nothing else to do that's simply not realistic to do that all the time. Sitting in your home listening to music through hi-fi speakers is only possible if you aren't busy or don't have other things to do. While yes it IS better audio, hearing the same song through bluetooth compressed MP3 still gives me almost the same amount of enjoyment, when I do that I don't feel like "oh man this sounds so bad", I just enjoy the song. It is the way most people consume music these days because it is not a hassle and you can do it anywhere.

Technology improved a lot the last 20 years, like 15 years ago I used to listen to downloaded songs on my MP3 player with 64 kb/s quality, THAT was bad. Now it's really good if you have a streaming service that has CD quality of 320 kb/s. That quality is really good enough, whatever these elitist "oh but it's compressed" snobs say.

"Elitist snobs" - Jesus Christ. Do you think you're an 80s punk?

You do know what lossless audio is and how it's available over streaming services? Who said anything about vinyl? If there wasn't a market for this, and it was so specialist, then why does Tidal exist? Why has Apple released their Masters collection? These products are aimed at the masses. You seemed to take it so personal when it was purely a statement about peopl missing out on how the artist envisaged these songs being heard. Look at how Axl even wanted CD mixed. No one is saying you can't enjoy compressed music over Bluetooth. But if that's all you ever hear, then IMO, you're missing out on hearing so much of a record.

Just as sad to me that some people think you have to obsess over quality to be able to enjoy the music. I enjoy it streaming through my airpods just as much as I do at home with my stereo, not even mentioning the fact that I don't have a fucking choice when I'm at the gym or on the train do I? Just like most people when I have time to listen to music, I am somewhere else and not at home.

    lol are you ok?

I mean, without getting in to it, of course you have a choice. Especially on the train. But I'm not sure I said anything about that. Seems you just worked yourself up for absolutely no reason.

Again, just for you, it makes me sad that people think that compressed MP3 over Bluetooth is what music sounds like (notice I didn't say anything about choice or enjoyment)

One has to wonder if the eventual estate of Axl Rose would have the ability to sue, should there have been anything lost that could be capitalized on.

From what I hear, Axl is pretty fond of litigation, so if anyone was going to sue, it would be GNR. I reckon @Blackstar is right, the fact that Axl hasn't sued probably tells us everything we need to know.

The Holy Grail to me is:

    Perfect Crime the supposed movie

23 rd January 1991  full concert

I'm right there with you on the re-recorded AFD. The Nightrain solo that Bucket played live and the 2nd half of the Big Daddy SCOM left me drooling.

I’m not 100% sure here in what im saying, but I’m guessing those stats are wrong. I don’t know that Coma or You could be mine or Pretty Tied Up opened a show. Maybe Jungle did, but not that I recall. Some of the heads on here can confirm...

setlistfm is a handy resource, but it’s not complete or entirely accurate.

IIRC, Jungle was the opener for the festival shows I saw in 2002 and possibly 2006.

It's So Easy is a great opener, but maybe they need to freshen it up after this tour. Hard Skool would be ideal if they were touring off the back of a new album.

There are layers in 5.1. Paradise City it's a new remix, Sweet child O'Mine has an extra scream in one of the verses but the biggest difference is the extra dialogue in Used To Love Her before the song.

I guess a lot of people just assumed it was the same version of AFD and haven't even heard the 5.1 since 2018

Do you know if the Lossless/Apple Digital Master version on Apple Music has the same mix/new layers?

where are the new vocals and guitars?   I just listened again (and yes it's the blue ray) and I didn't hear new guitar or vocals.  (only listened to nightrain and Brownstone bc i like the videos).  I mean, the songs sound clearer than the original release,  but I can't say it's that different than the original.  I guess I just don't have the right speakers (which I'm betting I dont)

I'll give it a listen, but new layers? I'd be surprised. I guess it's more likely that people are perhaps comparing CD/Blu-ray to compressed MP3.

I might be teaching my grandma to suck eggs (if so, I apologise), but if you listen to any lossless FLAC track on a wired set of headphones and with a DAC you'll hear so much shit you've never heard on shitty Bluetooth connected MP3. They're not new layers, they just happen to be audible now. I remember listening to TWAT for the firs time in lossless with a DAC. It was mind-blowing.

I think Axl could still sing like 2010 if he would train regularly by coaches just like any professional singer does.

Do you, or anyone here, know categorically that he doesn't? Not calling you out personally, but it appears to be taken as fact despite Axl mentioning working with a vocal coach in one of his latest Twitter posts.

    Yeah I thought that too.

But then, he must get tired of mentioning things he wants/expects to happen then for them not to happen.

What would he say really? 'yeah more touring'?

The question everyone wants to ask seemingly has no answer, so he's kinda on a hiding to nothing. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. And as someone else said, the guy is probably dealing with one or two things right now
