  1. The posters probably fake but it looks likely, well Queen and FNM look pretty much set to be two of the headliners. Other than that rumors are that it could be GN'R, KISS or Green Day as third headliner. We should find out tomorrow at 8pm.

  2. Well the fella on efestvials is usually bang on he said that he has heard from media sources that the headliners are correct! However wait n see not long, but I think it is odd that GnR have confirmed other dates in many countries however not here yet, this could be the reason why?!?!

It seems likely, whilst the poster's fake it seems as though there's a very strong likelihood of those three bands being the headliners. Bah! I really want to know what the official lineup is now

  3. Guy's i think it's a fake poster. The blogs and stuff on facebook who said it was true are now saying they are sorry. Blimmin disappointing, who knows whats true in this world lol

Well I'm hardly surprised but GN'R could play, we'll find out soon enough.

  4. We only have to wait for another 48 hours to find out defo going, they will announce this first than wait a month or 2 to confirm the uk dates, to sell tickets be just like reading/Leeds stating it was GnR only show than bang a few months later they confirmed a UK tour I don't care I go to this n both O2 dates

True, also I think there were rumors that KISS were signed on to do it but dropped out so maybe they need another headliner so they're not too bothered about there being other shows.

  5. Saw Queen and Paul Rodgers a couple of times, they put on a great show. Played Queen, Bad Company and Free songs.

I'd also love it if Axl stuck around to guest on a few songs, maybe Bohemian Rhapsody like at the Freddie tribute show? Well, I can dream!

  6. Even if it is a fake it does seem as though that will be the lineup. Faith No More pretty much confirmed they're playing apparently. The Queen/Lambert thing seems as though its going to happen and Guns obviously are playing other European festival dates.

Only thing that made me skeptical is the rumblings of a UK arena tour beforehand when usually other dates are announced after festivals but maybe the organizers don't care. I mean Queen are HUGE. Not too sure about Lambert though to be honest, saw them with Paul Rodgers in Hyde Park, London back in 2005 and it was such a great show and I think Rodgers is a far better singer. But saying that I'm such a big Queen fan it would be worth it to see Brian May play guitar and if GN'R are there as well than seems as though I'll have to go!

  7. bring on a birmingham date

Indeed ! And more UK dates!

Went to Birmingham, Manchester & Leeds last time around. Can't wait for round 2.

I want a new album as well, but people assume that because theyre touring, it won't happen.

Maybe they need the money, maybe they need the momentum. Whatever it is, I'm just glad they're doing something.

    Some people forget the silence..

Indeed! Waited four long years to see them in 2010 after it turned out I couldn't make the Wembley show in 2006 :(

Birmingham was awesome last time around, may go there or London however wouldn't be surprised if they're doing Sonisphere - guess we'll know pretty soon.

  8. If they're at Sonisphere and Van Halen are there as well, I'll go. Money's tighter than it was last time around so if its just arena dates in the UK may have to give it a miss.

Edit: what the hell was I thinking, sod the expense this is Guns N' fuckin' Roses!

  9. If there's a UK date I'll be there. Crue and Guns at the same show would make me very happy indeed.

As far as festivals go - doubt Reading/Leeds will happen based on 2010 and the fact it will only have been two years since they last played. Download have all their headliners. Hard Rock Calling would be a disaster as the show has to END by about 10-11pm; Hyde Park shows have to end really early. I could see them playing Sonisphere - theyve never played there before and they haven't announced anyone yet. If they play Sonisphere I'd be very tempted to go especially (if by some miracle) Van Halen play there.

  10. I liked the re-recorded Sweet Child and I'd love to hear it all out of curiosity. The only way we'll ever if hear it is if it leaked though - there could be legal issues, it features a long-gone lineup and it wouldn't sell and the media would have a field day. Even adding the re-recorded AFD it to a new release like KISS and Journey did with their re-recordings wouldn't work as it features different musicians to those in the band now. However, I do think it would be cool if the current lineup rerecorded some classic tunes and they put that out as a bonus disc.

  11. Not a fan of these but every other band pretty much does them. It was only a matter time before Guns was going to do them I guess. Re meeting the band I met Ron when he did a signing in London shortly after Chinese came out to promote his (then) new solo album Abnormal and Vigier guitars. Would be great if the band could do some other instore appearances.

  12. My guess is that it's for when they print the photos out, not everyone has a photo printer at home.

We're one step away from a GNR cruise. There would be no issues with what time Axl would go on, either. 4-5 days & 2 GNR concerts.

I think that'd be pretty awesome, the KISS one looked like a lot of fun.

  13. He has the talent and can clearly play Guns material and put his stamp on things, Axl wouldn't bring him in to make a Sixx Am inspired record, I can see some catchyness appearing with him but hopefully done the right way.

I think this is possilbly one of the reasons he was brought in - one of the criticisms of Chinese was that it didn't have a catchy, hit song and I'm pretty sure, given the success of his previous work with Crue and Sixx: AM he could write a hit song for GN'R. However, I hope if that's the case that we don't lose the progressive vibe that CD had.

  14. The cigarette stuff is retarded I agree, only like ten year olds or weird people think it's cool or novel, I don't mind Ashba's playing and think his crowd interaction is great therefore it cancels out whatever he wants to look like cause at the end of the day, you feel what someone is about through their playing, first and foremost I believe Ashba is in this business to play music and Axl wouldn't put any superficial crapin Guns N' Roses, he could do with chilling out a bit and not acting so obvious but whatever, Bumblefoot is the definition of cool for me, he just gets the fuck on with shiz.

Fortus needs to be the 'lead' guitarist of GN'R (or at least stage left taking the Slash/Robin solos). Painfully underrated, underused; looks like Ron Wood on steroids, blazing in technicality/leads, and charismatic just on the stage minding his own business, ripping out chords.

He's an amazing lead player, saw him with Thin Lizzy earlier in the year where he did far more solos and his lead playing was breathtaking. That being said I'm fairly happy with the GN'R setup. Didn't Fortus say he was featured more in the unreleased stuff?

  15. From what I've read here they've been valid arguments on both sides - sure she obviously knows Axl well and won't badger him for a reunion however she also lacks experience and it is a bit Spinal Tap.

But we've (hopefully) got a new site coming and we've just had one awesome live stream with another one in a few days. I'm keeping an open mind, all we can do is wait and see. It'll be interesting to see how 2012 pans out with the new management.

  16. It's almost comical to imagine Axl reverting to the old lineup for anything more than a one off (like what Roger Waters did with Pink Floyd at Live Aid to raise money for charity). It would be so clearly motivated by money that it would be hard to respect him. The new lineup is quite arguably the best live band out there right now; certainly in the upper echelon. They have an incredible catalogue that they take advantage of; they frequently play songs better than the "original" bands did (I don't care if it's old Guns or other bands; they play Nightrain and Civil War better than old Guns; they play Whole Lotta Rosie better than AC/DC; they play Sailing better than Rod Stewart; etc.); their new songs kick ass live (Street of Dreams, Sorry, Shackler's, Better are all great live for example). Basically, Zakk Wylde is right. Axl is the best frontman since Freddie Mercury and is the last truly great frontman to emerge on the rock scene. He's a rare entity. I've now taken 6 people to "nu" GNR shows who are not huge GNR fans. They're fans of a wide variety of music. Their favorite bands have been Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Rage, etc. They have all seen their proclaimed favorite bands live. Yet literally all of them, down to a person, have basically said the same thing: GNR may not be my favorite band, but that's the best concert I've ever been to. I have to believe that anyone who is still on these forums bitching about a reunion either hasn't seen the new band live or is simply so bitter and delusional that they can't accept it; they HAVE to have their reunion or their live is not complete. Otherwise, they'd either enjoy the current lineup or they'd go away. That's the only explanation I can think of.

    Amen!

Birmingham last year was phenomenal, in terms of a pure rock n'roll show I'll doubt I'll see a better show by another band (possibly Led Zeppelin if Hell freezes over and they reform again). In terms of the old band live I can't really comment - the only GN'R that's been around when I was getting into music was the new one. That being said I think people need to go in with an open mind who naysay about nuGuns. I was HIGHLY skeptical around the time of the '06 tour - obviously I got into GN'R by the music of the old band and when I was 12/13 Velvet Revolver were the biggest thing around as far as me and my friends were concerned and I didn't even know Axl/Guns was still going. Then the '06 tour happened - I listened to a bootleg of a show before I listened I thought "how can they pull this off with just Axl and Dizzy being the pre split members?" Then my mind was frickin' blown - it was the best stuff I'd heard and I loved the CD stuff and instantly warmed to the new band. I'm sure half the people that moan have actually never been to a show. I mean tons of people say Slash's shows are better which is a joke IMO sure Myles can hit the notes but he has zero stage presence he's definitely no Axl (or Scott for that matter).

  17. I love the covers especially Another Brick In The Wall as I'm a huge Floyd fan, seeing Axl singing more of it than in 2010 was awesome. At the end of the day if the sets were 60-90 minutes long then yeah I'd be annoyed at all the covers and solo spots but it's a frickin' three hour beast of a show. I'm more than happy with the core setlist; the only song I'd REALLY like to see played that isn't is Yesterdays to be honest.

  18. Well the stream was pretty fucking awesome. That'll definitely be the best nuGuns bootleg we have I think; better than Rock AM Ring IMO.

Band were on fire better than when I saw them in 2010, Civil War sounded epic and Tommy's solo spot was amazing. Yeah, no surprises, maybe some extra stuff was planned but didn't happen or something but the show was great and proved this really is the best fucking live band you'll ever see.
