  1. http://blogs.mprnews.org/newscut/2014/11/in-ferguson-riots-social-media-corrupts-mlks-message/

But obviously, something like this is going to go completely over the rioters heads and they still won't care. MLK Jr. used his words and knowledge to try and bring peace between blacks and whites. It sad that still, after all these years, we still have people screaming "racism" for anything that they don't find right.

  2. Protesting in itself isn't the problem. The looting and burning down of THEIR OWN COMMUNITY is. What purpose does it serve, to burn and loot innocent stores and houses of people who didn't have anything to do with the circumstances that happened. Seriously, what's going to come out of looting and burning down your own stores and business that will make your city money and jobs. It make no sense at all. It just going to make Ferguson look like a even worse place to live and less money for the community when all the business they looted and burned down get the hell out of there. Burning and looting wont be the kid back, or put the cop in jail, it won't accomplish anything but make you and your fellow community bad. Burning and looting stores and houses who have served you for years doesn't "stick it to man," it makes you look like savages and thugs. And in a year you'll be moving out to somewhere else because there be nothing left of Ferguson when you done scaring everyone out of it.

    Assholes.

  3. I hate this bullshit notion that just because Axl's 52 that means he's allowed to be out of shape. Age doesn't mean anything, the guy is a multi-million dollar rockstar. He could easily afford a personal trainer and a vocal coach. He has neither because he simply doesn't give a shit anymore. Instead of practicing and rehearsing, he's sitting around eating cheeseburgers. There's no denying he's out of shape and it is having effect on his vocals. There's no reason to compare Axl Rose to ordinary people because we don't have the money, fame, and luxury to afford easy access for getting in shape. He has a mansion of a home, why not a gym?

There's a difference between getting out of shape because of age and getting out of shape because of laziness. Axl's the second. Jon Bon Jovi the same age as Axl Rose, and he's in better shape than I am. Hell, Bruce Springsteen in 62 and he's in better shape than most people half his age. Age in not an excuse. Sure, Jons voice may be shot, but unlike Axl Rose, he's been touring the past 30 years with very few breaks.

As for the clothes he wears on stage, I think that's him trying to hide behind something. I used to be out of shape and insecure about how I looked, and I remember wearing a jacket everywhere to hide myself. Axl could be the same way, instead of getting in better shape to feel better and perform better, he's just hiding behind all the oversized jackets and hats.

  4. Everyone has their own opinion. Is this reviewer a fan of GNR or Axl?

I find most critics just love to hate on anyone they review.

The least they can do is give Axl credit for still doing shows and putting on a 3 hour show. But I guess it's more fun to put someone down.

Being a fan of a band does not mean you have to blindly follow and praise everything that band does. I'm a fan of Bon Jovi and I think that a majority of their 2000-now music stinks. I also don't like every single song from Bruce Springsteen. I wasn't a big fan of Elton John's recent album. It's called criticism, and no one should be immune to it.

Still putting on a three hour show while wheezy through songs you've sang for 20 years isn't exactly something that should be praised. Look at Bruce Springsteen, THAT'S how you put on a three hour show.

Besides Bumble leaving, I wonder what the other changes will be. DJ, Fortus, Dizzy, Chris and Frank don't look like they're leaving any time soon. Wonder if Tommy will be swapped out for Duff? More from Izzy (songs, live appearances)? A DJ-led album?

Regarding the show, this photo from HTGTH shows some stage production:

    BoOdVW_IYAAruVM.jpg

I must confess that when Axl hired the drummer from Primus, the NIN guitar player, Buckethead, the Replacements bassist, a keyboardist who worked for Tool, etc... to play in his band, the last thing I expected was to see this guy in his 50s hiding his fat body and face, between a pole dancer and a sparkly skull with they sayings "Rock n' Roll" in it, in Las Vegas. Axl is a joke, can't help but laugh.

I must confess that Axl Rose while at times has been pudgy, but you continuing to call this guy in the pic who cant be more than what 155-160 fat is just a symptom of you delusion. I don't know what you look like, but I am willing to bet you are "fatter" than he is. A fat neck from bad plastic surgery does not make a guy fat dude, I get it, you are upset you could not go to Vegas, but I saw him last year twice, and he was heavier than this and he was not 170 even. He is a little dude with skinny arms and big legs.

You wish you were that fat.

Comparing him to a average forum user doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. We average people don't have millions of dollars to spend on a personal trainer and a vocal coach, so comparing any of us to Axl Rose is ridiculous and downright idiotic. But, I know it's kind of hard to compare him to other musician's because their aren't many who have his money and fame, yet don't care about their weight or their voice. We could compare him to someone like Bruce Springsteen, but that'll just bury your argument more deeper. I mean, they guy's 64 and he's in better shape than more of people half his age.

Lets be fair, they've added Civil War and Estranged and occasionally break out TWAT and Catcher. That's about the most progress there's been apart from Duff and two Ashba solos.

They added Estranged over 3 years ago.

Bruce Springsteen played OVER TWO HUNDRED songs on his last tour:

    http://www.setlist.fm/stats/bruce-springsteen-2bd6dcce.html?tour=Wrecking+Ball+Tour

Prince has only played OVER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY songs in 2014 alone!!

    http://www.setlist.fm/stats/prince-13d6b9ed.html?year=2014

Not defending anything but Springsteen and Prince has at least 10 times as many songs to choose from. They have massive discographies.

True, but it's not as though GNR's discography is limited to the hits or Appetite. There are a lot of songs they don't play that most GNR fans, casual or hardcore, would love to hear.

Sure, I really wasn't defending anything, just pointing out that Springsteen and especially Prince aren't good comparisons.

Who is a good comparison? Motley Crue? Def Leppard? Band's that are full-blown nostalgia acts. Artists like Springsteen and Prince care about their fans that they want them to hear their music. Axl only cares about money. Springsteen could have played the last decade on touring based on Born to Run and Born in the USA. But, he's released albums every few years to keep himself fresh and his fans happy. Not to mention he's in tremendous shape and can still sing great. And he's 14 year's OLDER than Axl.

Axl had YEARS to release multiple albums of new material, and he sat on one of a decade that when it came out, it was a joke. And after 5 years, we have no new album in sight. Axl supposedly has a vault full of songs, so why not release them? Or atleast play them live? Maybe Dead Horse, Sorry, The Garden, hell what happened to IRS? People like me and many other's are pissed because Axl's has a large category to choose from, but continue to play the same show EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.

Because he wants every album to be as successful as AFD. He thought CHINDEM was going to be the next AFD and fooled us all to believe he was writting the best GNR record EVER.

ChinDem is a great album, I love it, but its nowhere near AFD success and impact. Partly due to the lame promotion they gave it.... So.... I don't know why he's taking another decade for the next one....

I think if he released an album every 2-3 years, at some point, he would get the training to write and produce amazing albums.

I think it has something to do with that, and the label just not trusting Axl anymore. He threw away the old band, threw away multiple members of the new band, and is now throwing away his legacy. He's no taking another decade to release a new album, there won't be a new album. DJ has been spewing bullshit about how he's written songs for Axl, how their working on new material since he came in 2009. We've got nothing new but Estranged and Civil War. Two song's DJ has nothing to do with.

I refuse to think there won't be a new album ever again

C'mon... people live until 100 nowadays, he's too young to retire

I'm not saying he's going to retire. I'm just saying that's he could probably continue to play as a nostalgia act for the next decade.

There is absolutely NO excuse for the complete and utter bullshit sham that GNR has become and Axl himself would have said the same thing back in 1991 when he said 'it would be really fucking lame if we just came out and played Appetite every night....kinda like jerking off'.

Springsteen and Prince care about their fans. That's the difference.
