  1. There's nothing wrong with criticism, it's what you so with it that matters. You could either use it against yourself and use that to bring yourself down. Or, you can use it to try and prove the naysayers wrong.

On the topic at hand, I'm a fan of Bon Jovi, and yes they have become a joke over the last decade, and I'll admit that as a fan. Their music is mediocre at best for the last decade with a few good songs, Jon can't sing anymore, and it's just not like it was in the 90's. Jon doesn't seem to care anymore about making music that's inspiring and interesting, he's interested in just getting the flash-in-the-pan #1 single. You don't see me going on a Bon Jove message board and praising every little thing they do because I'm a fan. There's nothing wrong with being a fan and admitting to a bands mistakes. There's something wrong with blindly following a bands every move and praising it even if it get's universally panned by the world outside of this forum and HTGTH. It's ridiculous to think that Axl would give up simply because fans are frustrated. Well, guess what, wouldn't you think that would make him want to prove them wrong. Wouldn't that make him say "hey, fuck you, I'm still Axl Rose and I can still rule the world, just watch."

If the fans are frustrated, than do something about it! Don't bash the fans, don't give out a letter saying your working on give us information, don't leave us in the dark as it pertains to new music. Throw us a bone once in a while, show us your still care, that there's still hope that we'll get new music, that Axl is going to turn it around and be himself again. The people who are negative and frustrated, their the one's who care the most, because they just want this band to be better. And we all know they can be, we saw it in 2006, 2010, and even in 2002. People who blindly follow and praise Axl's every move don't help matters at all, they just fuel his own ego. There's nothing wrong with having a chip on your shoulder and wanting to prove the world wrong.

  2. Funny how people say that former managers tried to con Axl into a reunion. Well, maybe that's because that's what most of the world wants. And the manager that actually got Chinese Democracy out (Azoff) was sued by Axl. I think Axl needs someone who can push him, give him a chip on his shoulder, make him want to show the world he's still got it. Because with Team Brazil, he's not going to get that. He's going to be praised with whatever he does because there's no way they want to piss off Axl. So, were stuck in a very difficult situation regarding new material because if Axl doesn't want to release new music, or tour, or promote, or even do an interview, no one with tell him otherwise. There's no way Beta or Fernando are going to tell him he has to release a record. Especially after the whole "complaints, complaints, complaints." They don't care about us, they only care about pleasing Axl and making him feel like he's the King. His "band mates" won't say anything against him in fear of being fired, and Team Brazil won't push him to want to release new music because they think us (the fans) are the enemy.

Would I get rid of Team Brazil, the answer is yes. Not because their bad people, but because I don't think their doing a good job so far. I would want someone who has the business sense and a good history at managing a rock band like Guns N' Roses. I would want someone to manage them that would not be afraid of Axl, that would be level-headed with him, but wouldn't cower away from him. We all know Axl's crazy, and we all know how he want's everything to be his way. But, it's a rock band, and you should be putting out music for the fans and trying to be the very best you can be. The fans aren't the enemy, there wouldn't be any Guns N' Roses anymore without the fans. The longer Team Brazil manage the band, the further they may fall. This isn't supposed to be a nostalgia band like Motley Crue or Def Leppard, this was supposed to be a new band moving GN'R into a new generation with new music. Now, we can only hope to get a new album, because it's obvious Axl's heart isn't in it anymore, and the bandmembers are getting frustrated, and Team Brazil isn't helping with their nonsensical bashing of the fans.

  3. Yes. GN'R are one of my favorite bands, Axl's probably my favorite frontman of all time, and their music is very good. Unfortunately, their not my favorite band anymore simply because of the fact that Axl doesn't want to release new music. So, I'm mostly on here to chat with other G'NR fans and see the "news" on here, hoping one day to see a new album being released. I've gotten into other bands, bands like Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Elton John. All who have released new music in the last two years. Sure, I will continue to follow GN'R as long as this forum is alive, but it's certainly hasn't been as fun or exciting as it was in 2009-2011.

  4. See, here's the thing. You ask me this question 3 years ago, I would say yes. I would say that Axl's not going to reunite because what about the new and? He's not one to give up on something he worked so hard for, he's the "last man standing." Whatever bullshit I believed before, I would have said.

Now though, I would rather have a reunion than see a band cover songs they didn't write. It would be much better to see Slash and Axl share the stage again, or at least reconcile, than then see Axl Rose fall further and further into a nostalgia act. I use to believe that Axl wanted to move this band forward, he wanted to make this band big. We were going to have new music on a timely basis. Who knows, maybe we were? Maybe Axl was going to move HIS band forward, but he simply changed his mind or gave up? Either way, I don't understand why he continue to play mostly old material while shunning Slash and acting like he's a "cancer." Sure, it would be next to impossible to not play the old material anymore, but I would think be now, we would have atleast a mix of old and new material at the shows. The only time that happened was in 09-10. After Rock In Rio, we've had set-lists mostly filled with old material from the old band. Hell, the only surprise we got a Rock In Rio was Estranged, a 20 years old a majority of the current band had fuck all to do with. Than they brought back Civil War, another 20 year old song the new band had fuck al to do with. What's next, Double Talkin' Jive? Yesterdays? Dead Horse?

If Axl has no intentions to move this band forward, I see either reunite with the old band. Or hoarders, give us all the leaks you have. Axl hasn't done much at all to move this band out of the old bands shadow, much less move on from Slash's GN'R material.

    Cash Grab.

No, this is a "cash grab".

  5. It's kind of sad that a management team has to work on getting us information that may or may not even happen. We were supposed to get the A4D DVD this past summer. What happened? What about the London show? Remember when Fernando said they were "working on" Chinese Democracy 2? Over a year ago!

It's a shame that Axl Rose has surrounded himself with yes-man who won't push him or tell him otherwise. It's a shame that he's fought to keep the GN'R name, but in reality it's become a joke of a band and Axl has become a shell of his former self. Really, all this jut to give us information? How about giving us new music? Is that so hard? How about telling us what's holding up the release of a new album when it's obvious the fans want another one. A "definite maybe" doesn't count. "Working on it" mean's dick. And even if we do get info on new music, we still might have to wait another two years to hear it. Remember when we were supposed to get Chinese Democracy in 2006, than it came out in 2008 with Axl going MIA?

  6. Didn't take long for the two armies Axl fans Vs Slash fans to start fighting.... I though this thread was about asking POLITELY for new music...? Well, Axl was never going to read it in the first place and he's definitely not going to now and if in some crazy bizzarro world situation he did read it he would still just call the Reunion brigade cunts and try to convince the rest of us that he's not working on all this material to keep it buried.

I want NEW music. Emphasis on NEW. Not songs that didn't make the cut last time, NEW music with the current band. I'm not totally against using some songs from past sessions but the album should be 60% new at the very least with the rest being old CD songs.

Take some hostages and make some demands. Crying ain't gonna get you shit.

Sorry Axl doesn't give you exactly what you want. Maybe you should just enjoy other music, and if Axl gets around to releasing something, then you can enjoy that too. But wouldn't it suck if you spend your whole life crying and being upset about some songs that never get released?

Also, I don't want a reunion. It would be a bad joke by now.

Well, for one I have moved on to other music. Springsteen, Elvis, Elton John, John Lennon, John Mellancamp, Bon Jovi. It's much better to listen to artist who have loads of music that they release for their fans. Hell, I hardly ever listen to GN'R anymore because there's so much great music out there by artists who would rather share their music with their fans than resent their fans.

  7. Because he doesn't care anymore. Wen he said that quote, he seemed to still have the chip on his shoulder. Chinese Democracy just came out and he still seemed he wanted something to prove.

After 2010, it seemed like he stopped caring. It seemed like he gave up on trying to get HIS band to move forward ad is just happy being a nostalgia act. There's a quote in the Bon Jovi autobiography that seemed to stand out to me that really explains Axl's current situation. "If we have everyone patting us on the back for the last twenty years, I would have got fat and lazy and old." Sound familiar to anyone? It seems like since Axl's surrounded himself with yes-man who are going to tell him everything he's doing is fine, he's lost his motivation. He's lost that sense of determination and wanting to prove all the naysays wrong who have said for years that he can't successful without Slash.

  8. Vince Neil killed Razzle and continues to rack up DUIs. At least Axl never killed anyone.

And Vince geniuenly regrets that. Why are all of you so anti-Mötley Crüe?

I'm not "anti-Crue" at all. I dig their first 5 records.

However, just as people such as yourself hold Axl accountable for his actions, I hold Vince accountable. Let me just throw out a few gems for which I hold Vince accountable:

    • -According to Axl, Vince tried to punch Izzy and hit like a powder puff. Therefore he is an enemy of Guns n Roses (that was a joke, relax)
    • -Vince was taped challenging Axl to a fight. It is one of the most hilarious things you will ever watch.
    • -Vince was on "Skating with the Stars." Please watch video.
    • -There have been several live shows I have seen of Crue (not all mind you, just some), where he is using so much autotune, he sounds like a synthesizer. Axl may have timbre problems with his voice, but at least it's real.

Now imagine if you will... that Axl had done those things instead of Vince. How would you react? What would you say here on the forum? Hmm. Think carefully now.

    Agreed.

  9. Or gotten together and written a Fuck Off letter like The Sex Pistols did

Or Axl could have put his PERSONAL grudges aside and dedicated the night to the MILLIONS OF GNR FANS who filled his bank account...........but ya, I suppose the fans shouldn't have been part of the equation at all.

Only on this forum do die-hard fans of a singer think that NOT playing (or putting out albums, or doing interviews) is a good thing. :shrugs:

"Everybody here knows that this guy to my right and I can't stand each other and after this event, we probably won't speak again for the next 10 years......but for the next 15 minutes we're gonna give the fans what they've been begging for for the last 15 years.........dooo you know where the fucccckkkkkkkkk you arrrrrrrrrrre????????"

Groghan the problem is the people that were inducted are not GNR.

The only reason Guns N' Roses was inducted was because of the music released during 1987-1996.

  10. One of the most disappointing night's of my life.

With a fantastic 2010 with Axl sounded great with power and rasp and the band kicking ass, we have a long wait until Rock In Rio. Everyone's stocked, including me, to see what they have in store. Will they play new music, with Axl still have the rasp, will there be any surprises? And, nothing. An unmotivated Axl Rose shows up with weak vocals and tacky yellow raincoat that makes him look more like a pun-inducing tazi-cab than a actual rock star. No new songs besides a 20 year old song that the new band have fuck all to do with, no surprises, just Axl Rose being Axl Rose. Throwing fits when he has a huge crowd watching him, forgetting lyrics to songs he sang for 20 years, making a mockery out of himself.

This show and the aftermath of the Rock In Roll Hall of Fame really showed me the light and made me realize just how much Axl Rose cares about his new band and his diehard fans.

  11. Even if you don't like it, there's still million's (including me) who do. Sure, a lot of their stuff post Crush has been pop/rock crap, but to say their 90's alums are bad is ridiculous.

From what I can tell their 90s albums are universally considered to be mediocre. Average reviews of 3 stars and all that. :shrugs:

I listened to "These Days" once and it was fucking shit.

    And?

Music review's mean shit to me.

You listened to These Days and it was fucking shit. Cool. I listen to These Days multiple times and it's probably their best record ever. We all have opinions. No one's right or wrong.

  12. Why would Richie want to join Axl's band? I believe Richie is a serious musician who wants to create and release music.

Well, that and I highly doubt Richie will want to deal with Axl's bullshit. We already know he won't deal with Jon Bon Jovi's. And Axl's much worse than him. Much, much worse.

Why would Richie want to join Axl's band? I believe Richie is a serious musician who wants to create and release music.

I wouldn't call very much of Bon Jovi's catalog "music".

Even if you don't like it, there's still million's (including me) who do. Sure, a lot of their stuff post Crush has been pop/rock crap, but to say their 90's alums are bad is ridiculous.

  13. What an absurd conversation. Come on, guys. Just go for broke and argue that Slash shouldn't have been inducted. You know you want to.

    HA!HA!

Hilarous how the Axlamic Fundamentalists love Izzy again when the guy actually BLASTED Axl out of it in the press several times back in the day. Never hear about that from some people.

Slash gets the hate because he wouldn't go away. The public wanted him around and he stuck around. Axl imagined he'd never cope without him, but he did.

What do you think those people will do if Axl ever does decide to reunite with Slash?

A lot of heads will explode. They've badmouthed and bashed Slash for years. But if Axl gets over his pride, gets Beta and the moochers out of the way, and works with Slash again........the Axl nutters on here literally won't know what to do. They MUST worship Axl's every move.....yet, how can they go back on all the negative things they've said about Slash in the past?

I don't care about a reunion one way or the other. But it sure would be fun to watch the posters on here go crazy if it did happen.

    Yeah, it would be hilarious.

But, I don't even want a reunion. I just would love for Axl and Slash to reconcile, and at least be friends again.

As far as what Intercourse said, I agree. I think that's why Axl is bitter at Slash, because unlike all the other former members, Slash was able to stay in the mainstream even years after the break-up. He's the one playing the Super Bowl, he's the one on award shows, he's the one putting out new music on a regular basis.

  14. Sunny - exactly. I'm the poster child for what Team Beta and Axl has done to their hard core fan base. I might be the first person who was ever called an Axl Nutter on this forum. Axl has been my favorite rock singer since 1988. I listen to GnR more than I listen to all other bands combined. I see them live almost every time they come through my area (never to my state, I always have to fly to go see them). I absolutely love most of CD. And I'd gladly hand over a hundred dollar bill today for a new GnR album. From 88 to 08 I always took Axl's side, in almost all matters. I thought VR was one of the most boring sounding bands out there.

But more and more information comes out about what happened with the orginal band. Axl makes more and more mistakes and does things that shows he doesn't care about us (the fans). An incompetent management team takes over (a team that has no problem insulting band members and fans). And we get the cluster-f that we have today. And to top that off, we have "fans" who come to the board and worship and praise things that any normal person would see as embarrasments and failures. Which leads to all the negativity and fighting that goes on within the board.

Like the guys who defend Axl for his multiple assault charges against multiple females. They were crazy, they deserved it, he was on drugs, he had a bad childhood, one of the women was mean to him in 1385 in a past life. BUT I'm the "weird" or bad fan????

I'm as big of a die-hard fan of Axl Rose the singer as ANY poster on this forum. And have been for longer than 90% of the people who post here.

But I don't worship his every move, I don't worship him as a person, and I think he has made a mess of his career the past 15 years. He had the talent to be the biggest rock star that ever lived...........but unfortunately, lawsuits, fueds, Beta and her family, and getting even with all those who he felt were "out to get me" was more important to him than releasing music for his fans to enjoy. Which is why his career has went the way it has.

Axl feels like it is him against the world. Which I find sad, as there are millions of music fans who are on his side. But unfortunately...........he doesn't see that. And as long as he has Beta in one ear and his "camp" in the other ear feeding into his delusions, we'll continue to see the most talented rock singer of our generation never live up to his potential.

Fantastic post. Once again Grogan is right on the money. And I feel the same way, Axl used to be a fantastic signer and frontman, but over time his delusion's have made his career into a nostalgia act. It's unfortunate, because he and his band had a ton of potential, but he let it all slip away. And I also used to be a Axl supporter after I found this forum. I always took his side, always had the "he's the last man standing" mindset. After reading his essay on here from 2008. I began to believe him.

Than, Rock In Rio came. After a year of kick ass touring, we and the world and presented with a out of shape Axl Rose forgetting lyrics and throwing hissy-fit's on stage. In fact, the biggest stage Axl's played in YEARS. And what did we get out of it? Estranged. That's it. A song that the new band have FUCK ALL to do with. Now, were stuck with Axl Rose who basically a shell of his former self. And his management team don't help either with their "complaint's, complaint's, complaint's" bullshit. For some reason, they delude themselves into thinking people wanting what's best for GN'R are the bad ones, and people who follow and agree with every move GN'R made (even if it's bullshit) are the good one's. And it's a shame that surrounds himself with yes-man, who seemingly don't push him and just let him do as he pleases. It's unfortunate, because it's like Elvis Presley during his later years. Fat, bloated, surrounded by yes-man out for his money, constant touring. It's a shame to realize how Elvis was such a young kid when he first started, so much potential and talent, and he ended up to be a mere shadow of his former self in the late 70's before his death.
