  1. If someone from the GNR camp happens to check in on this thread, let the record show that 99% of us on this board, regardless of each person's history or current level of frustration with this band, would all love to hear from Axl. Whether it's another visit, a new interview, or a simple email answering the 5 questions provided. And above and beyond all else, New Music.

We want to hear The General. Soul Monster. Jackie Chan. Thyme. Seven. Atlas Shrugged. It has been, in some cases, well over ten years of hearing about these songs. But never actually hearing them. Enough is enough. And it sure would be cool to hear a status update from the guy who sounded so enthusiastic about this material, once upon a time way back in 2008.

  2. Axl is still my favorite rock singer.

I just wish he and Beta (and the kids) cared about Axl's millions of fans. You know, the ones who have filled his bank account with cash over the last 25 years!!!

One album of original material in the last 22 years? That's all Axl could muster?

How about throwing your fans a bone and releasing some music!!!!

    "Complaint's, complaint's, complaints."

  3. I feel like Axl turned on us. He doesn't seem to give a fuck anymore. Just goes through the motions in these quick nostalgic cash grabs.

And you only get what you give.

I can see where you are coming from. Many of us were standing behind Axl and this new band when the entire world was talking shit about them and saying that Axl could not succeed based upon a new band. I had been openly supporting this new band and Axl's vision since Oh My God came out in 1999. And when Axl went on tour in 2009 I said Look, he's supporting a new album, he's following thru, his voice is top shape... This continued into 2010. Then 2011 Hit. The ambitious red head behind the mic started giving lack-luster performances. He added songs like 'The Seeker' and 'Don't Let it Bring You Down' to the set list with his ever deteriorating voice. The songs he was killing off of CD such as Chicken Dinner started being sung clean, songs like Better and This I Love started being sung clean. After Adding Cool Throwbacks such as Estranged and Civil War the sets started getting shorter and seeing less CD material. Every show that was either live streamed, recorded for DVD or broadcast over the radio featured embarrassing vocals by Axl. Not only did they lack the trademark rasp, which Axl had killed with in 2006 / 2007 / 2009 / and 2010... But his clean vocals were out of breath, and far from strong. Instead of seemingly moving forward to capture their own identity, this GNR seemed more reliant on the past, the nostalgia in Advertisements, Merchandise, and Setlists to function and perform. How many years can Axl and Crew shrug off questions about new music. After DJ prominently boasted about a new record being their number one priority in 2009 / 2010 he and his bandmates have been making excuses such as 'Life Get's in the Way.' Since.

For the amount of money Axl must shell out to keep this Rock N' Roll Train Going... He should at least utilize them to make one more record. At least before his voice totally goes. I know it's there... I think he's just lazy.

    Fantastic post.

  4. I still like the band, don't get me wrong. I still want them to succeed, I still want Axl to succeed. But, it's hard to want Axl to succeed when it seems like Axl himself doesn't want to succeed and wants to be downgraded to a nostalgia act playing to casual fans who don't give two shit's about the new band. Why did Axl make this new band, to tour the world playing the hit's that the man he refers to as a "cancer" helped co-write and make famous? To have a band where one of them is obviously annoyed about the lack of production this band has made?

It all started at Rock In Rio 2011 where I found out Axl's true intention's were: to be a nostalgia act and piss away everything that was the potential of a great band. Compare that to Rock In Rio 2001 when Axl was firing on all cylinder's, we had new music, and a album to look forward to plus the intrigue of the new band. Now, what's there to look forward to? New music that probably won't come out, continuous touring with a out of shape Axl Rose? Hell, what's going on with the Vegas DVD?

  5. I kind of hope he does. He's too good to squander his talent in a band that's never going to record any original music. I think he's desperate to contribute to a new GNR record, but I also reckon he's got a date in his head, a deadline if you will, and when that time comes, if there's still no activity, he'll quit and never look back.

To be honest, any change from the Groundhog Day that is 2013 NuGNR would be a welcome relief, even if it means losing the bands best member. I would also take a degree of satisfaction in watching Axl lose yet another member. Yeah, I know, I'm bitter. Axl made me that way.

  6. As far as being a musician and putting out music for your fans (even if I'm not a big fan of Slash's solo work) Slash is much more successful. Sure he may not get big crowds for his tours, but I highly doubt Axl Rose touring as "Axl Rose" would do much either.

Yes, Axl is more successful when it comes to tours, but he's touring behind the legendary "Guns N' Roses" name.

  7. Let's keep it simple:

    - Not happy with the current line up, want the past back? Not gonna happen so go away. Life's too precious to lose time on something you don't like anymore.

    - Happy with the band but want a new record or more different stuff from the band live plus more news? Stick around but don't demand. Wait. Who knows what's coming. We waited a long time for CD and it's a blessing to have everything we got for the last years. And I'm personally very grateful to Axl, the band, TB and everybody else involved because they gave me a lot of happinness for the last 5 years.

The only issue here isn't management, Beta, current band or whatever. The issue is: a bunch of morons trying to know what happens inside the band and trying to dictate what THEY think the band / Axl should do.

Nobody's dictating anything. We just want new music from our favorite band, is that so bad? We want Axl to succeed, a lot of us do. But, dwindling attendance figures and a sub-par voice isn't anything close to a success. All this band is, is a cover band playing hit's they had fuck all to do with.

Wait? You know how long people waited to get Chinese Democracy? And now you want us to wait another 10 years or another one?

  8. That moment was, for me, the best moment of the whole concert when I saw them in Paris in 2010.

I was only a few feet away from Axl and Fortus when they both screamed that line.

    @2min30

    :(

The voice, the energy, where did it all go?

  9. Anybody without an inherent prejudice against current management could recognize that Beta didn't behave in any way inappropriately. A stupid rhetorical question was put to her which she clearly felt detracted from the real point of the picture, touring success.

    This is stupid.

As a manager of the band and the main person(apparently) for PR, it would have been best if she didn't say a thing instead of acting like some persecuted maid that just had her mop bucket thrown back in her face. Touring success? The crowds have consistently gotten smaller along with questionable bookings. She came off as hyper sensitive, not unlike her "son." "Complaints, complaints, complaints?" So do your fucking job right instead of booking wedding and bowling alley gigs in between festivals GNR don't belong in(Governor's Ball). When you see the crowds getting smaller, it's a sign that the demand for the show is going down. And when fans make comments(sarcastic or not) that they want new material, use that head and see the obvious instead of trying to be a little victim. If she can't handle it, then she should hand off her job to someone capable of doing it correctly.

It's just more of that blame the fans bullshit and it IS inappropriate. Any business in the world that treats the consumers like insignificant bystanders will always get "complaints." Their little boat is sinking in the river of bullshit that only THEY created. Only an idiot would suggest otherwise.

Why don't you guys come on over for dinner? I'll cook you some dookie marinated eggs for ya. You better ask for seconds and not give any "complains."

  10. All they do or want to do is do the same tour over and over again. How hard could that be to manage? Why would they waste money on a high profile professional when Beta seemingly gets the shows booked and that's all that's needed?

TBH, I think that's why Beta will remain manager. All the others probably had ulterior motives in Axl's eyes: pressure for new music and/or a reunion. He basically stated as much in a couple interviews (maybe the ones he did here). I think he said he distrusted Azoff because he was secretly trying to create tension and push a reunion. Any manager who comes into contact with Axl is going to instantly realize that there's 10x cash to be had (maybe even more) with the original lineup touring, so that will always be in the back of their mind.

Beta is practically family to him, and she wants what he wants. So he doesn't have to worry about someone sabotaging his endless touring, or trying to fuck him over and gun for a reunion (pun intended). Beta's basically the perfect manager for the band right now, in that sense.

Maybe Beta and the family don't want to push for a reunion because they know they wouldn't be in charge anymore and I'm sure Slash isn't going to answer to a nanny turned manager.

  11. This woman is a tremendous manipulator.

She realized from the get-go that Axl was an easy mark, and has managed to go from being the maid to essentially running the entire GNR empire. That is the sign of a great conman (or con-woman in her case).

Knowing how fragile Axl has always been emotionally she stepped right in and has leveraged their personal relationship in a way that drove away everyone in his life leaving her and her spawn to run everything.

She has done a masterful job brainwashing Axl because otherwise I don't see how he could be that blind not to see how she has ruined his career.

By acting as the gate keeper to him she gets to keep him paranoid and only trusting of her, which only exacerbates the problems he has. She is able to rake in the cash, and keep away any potential sane voices from his life that would expose the fraud that is the entire Lebeis clan.

He's Axl freaking Rose, and yet somehow he has been relegated to nothing more than a pawn in the Lebeis familiy's continued torpedoing of GNR, his legacy, and his career.

It is freaking sad. He's like a member of a freaking cult with his devotion to this family despite the toxic effect they have had on his life and career. He'll realize it one day as most do in situations like this, but by then it will be too late.

What we all wouldn't give for him to snap the hell out of it and kick the Lebeis family, Jarmo, Del James and the rest of the enablers out of his life so he can get back to being a real person again who isn't under the spell of a Brazillian house keeper.

The irony is Axl's been wearing a Elvis shirt alot lately, and we know of Elvis' "entourage" who just wanted him to a Vegas act to rake in the cash. This could very well be the same situation.

  12. Yeah, how dare the fans want new material from their favorite band, what an atrocity.

I guess we should all just be happy with Axl Rose touring as a nostalgia act playing songs from 20 years ago. I wonder how long it's going to take until Bumblefoot or DJ leave because it's obvious they want to be in a actual rock band who record actual music, not a cover band.

  13. It's too bad we weren't able to switch this site over to a Pearl Jam site. I'd like to discuss the hypothetical scenario of every band member except for Eddie leaving, with Vedder vowing to move the band in a new direction and proceeding to release one album in twenty years and perpetually touring with 90% of the tourlist comprised of songs from Ten and Vs.
