  1. Comfort first, so for me any Nike with full length Zoom Air. Easy to find in the 90's, but not so much now. Usually end up with turf shoes, gawdiness be damned. Also a fan of the old school Air Trainers.

  2. I'm a bit more concerned about global de-forestation. This world's all about balance, IMO.

You know, they're somewhat related as well. Because the trees take care of CO2, which is the cause of the global warming.

Yeah, I know. It just seems like considering the point we're at with fossil fuels, it'd be a "easier" path to try and perserve the rainforests and such.

  3. Ya know, back in the day what was really cool was that he was an open book. Never afraid to share his feelings and thoughts, damn the consequences. I don't think addictive is the right term in my mind, but definitly a person who could make someone who was in someway opressed feel like they had the right be themselves and/or fight back against whatever might be opresing them.

I miss that guy sometimes. Idol's a dumb term, but cultural hero seems fitting.

Although, I guess he's still that guy in his art, just not so much on stage.

Just another reason it'd be nice to have some new music.

  4. Man, I used to assume it was about Slash, then I realized the whole song fits Adler to a tee.

He was probably vague about it in the chats because he doesn't want to get some stupid Adler driven lawsuit in his mailbox.

    For Slash, see "Prostitute".

You gotta be kidding? There's some stuff in Prostitute relating to fame but surely it's directed to a woman? Affections, love, up to no good. How do you shoehorn Slash into that.

As for Adler, i'll quote Bluenoze from earlier replacing the name Slash with Adler: "I certainly don't believe that Axl would be that full of emotion, he would sit down and write a song about Adler. It makes him seem like some kind of possessed freak."

Quote me some lines and explain how they fit Adler? Where's the reference to him shooting up Axl's missus? Where's the references to drugs, firing him...anything?! When has Al even mentioned Adler except briefly in the chats? When has Adler been credited with telling Axl to shut up and sing?

I think it's more how Alder has spouted his mouth off in all of the many, many interviews over the years. Blaming Axl for all his demons instead of taking reponsibility for his own situation. Don't ya think all that shit talk pissed off Axl over the years? Also, selling your soul can most definitly refer to how deep into the drugs he had allowed himself to sink. And in the grand scale of things, people care about Slash and his body of work far more than they care about what the fuck Steven is doing with his career, no? Also, Steven has made no secret of his desire to play with original GNR, but Axl giving in was never really an option.

As far as P-tute goes, I can remember at least one time where Slash(and Duff?) said Axl was difficult, but that he still loved him. Love isn't always the romantic type,

Hope this clarifies my viewpoint a bit.

  6. I'm probably in the minority, but I say bring back Jim.

The Real Thing is a masterpiece, and it's be nice to get something in that vain out of them again.

Minority?! Are you on PCP? More like outright majority lol. Yeah Jon Hudson ftw! That's like preferring Ashba to Slash with all due respect.

LOL, man. Let's start a peteition!

I just get the feeling that many FNM fans prefer the direction they took with Angel Dust, where I felt it was basically turdy after TRT.

I get what you mean but imo members are one thing and direction is another. But Jims a dick, they got Trey Spruance to do all of KFADFFAL with them onstage aat a show but when they offered it to Jim to do Angel Dust, he turned then down. Hes just a pumpkin growing fuck these days and it's a shame.

What if the offer would have been to play the whole of TRT? Would he have said no to that? I didn't even know that he was on AD. Seems to me like Patton's the real dick for ignoring the awesomness of TRT. Oh no...we had a commercially successful album. RUN!

  7. They're in my top five bands of all time. Thee's not one tune they've released I can say I dislike. Fuck, they may be my favorite band of all time, now that I ponder it.

Their evolution from that 1st EP through Motel California was just stellar. In fact, I recently purchased their back catalog in the form of the Japanese pressings and have been really enjoying the ride.

I'll also be grabbing the new EP in physical form next month when it's released, although I have checked out the new tunes on YouTube, and "No One Survives" really stands out.

Good to see some love for UKJ, and if they don't tour the states, I may weep, as it's been a long wait.

  9. What do they want exactly?

Be back in 1988 at a Guns N' Roses concert, wearing a long mullet with a stomach full of Budweiser's, and finally get laid.

Yes. genius! It must be an age-ism thing like that. I hope you were alive back in the day, because it's a fool's move to try and make a funny about somewhere you've never even been. Yes, mullets and Budwiser, that sums up the original GNR fanbase. :o

You know what the people fucking want, Mr. Timbre? They want their band to have an authentic "sound", not some diluted BS.

Show me one clip of Better without Robin, that sounds as good as the clip from HOB last month when Robin slipped in.

Show me one clip of Sweet Child being performed by Nu Guns that sounds as honest as the HOF (musically, not vocally) version.

I realize that many folks will generally hone in on the vocalist at a show, but many are also in tune with the instumentational aspect of a live show.

I sometimes wonder what the original five dudes would say if you could go back in timeand show them what becomes of their little gang of dirtballs...

  10. A lot of speculation there, and personal opinion.

Don't agree with everything he said.

I'll say this though...you'd see a completely different blog if all 5 guys had shown up...even if they jusy got up there and graciously accepted and went on their way.

Eddie Trunk would be jizzing his fucking pants and gushing about how it was the right thing to do.

Could not have said it better myself.

  11. Am I the only one who thinks that possibly all of the recent negativity (Adler's comments, Slash saying they won't play etc.) are all just a ploy, so that when they do play it will be an even bigger piece of news? I can just imagine the guys communicating and saying things like, "Everyone expects the worst from us, so let's get them going." I just have a feeling all of this is being done as part of a publicity stunt. I could very well be wrong, but it's just a hunch that I have.

This comment strikes me as what you would like to be the truth. For those of us who have followed the band... I think we will agree the likelihood of this being the case is extremely low.

I think many folks would like it to be the truth, especially those who shelled out the big bucks to go to Cleveland.

There does seem to be a lot of towing the line going around, ie. Izzy the recluse isn't going, Steven says something bitter. I think Izzy will br there, for one because he's classy and I'm also sure he's buds with a few of musicians tah will be there to honor GNR that night.

Anyways, if it is a ruse, I woldn't be surprised, because that's rally the only way for it to roll smoothly. That being said, I still think Axl may decide the day of the show. Also, if the thing goes down, Duff gets credit, because it seems like he's been working away at it.
